A Volusia County resident who tested positive for COVID-19 has been treated in the intensive care unit at AdventHealth Palm Coast, and was released on March 23.

Cynthia Corsentino, 48, said in an interview aired on Flagler Broadcasting’s “Free For All Friday” radio show on March 20 that she’d been tested on Saturday, March 14, and results came back the next day.

Coronavirus cases total 4 in Ormond

Ormond closures announced

There are four confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ormond Beach as of Tuesday evening, and residents should follow prevention measures set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

These include washing your hands, practicing social distancing, avoiding touching your face, disinfecting surfaces and covering your coughs or sneezes.

There is access to testing for COVID-19, said Holly Smith, communications manager for the Florida Department of Health in Volusia, at hospitals, DOH, urgent care centers and private doctors. You must be showing symptoms of coronavirus to get tested, she said.

She added that most people who have COVID-19 show mild illness and are able to recover at home. No treatment for COVID-19 has been approved.

At the city level, Ormond Beach Assistant City Manager Claire Whitley said in a statement that the city has restricted all public access to its facilities, implemented staggered shifts and telework where possible and developed health screening protocols for employees. It has also

The city is also keeping facilities open, but has added more signs with reminders about social distancing and limits of 10 people per group, City Manager Joyce Shanahan said in a statement.

“We ask that our residents remain mindful when using these spaces,” she said.

Four of the 19 Volusia County COVID-19 cases are still under investigation to determine community spread. Previously, DOH conducted all the testing and the investigations were done upfront.

“For the newest cases, we are still investigating but everyone should assume it’s in the community per the CDC and continue social distancing and hygiene,” Smith said.

“You have true professionals who have a passion for taking care of our community. So I would implore you to try to return to life as normal as you could live it in these times.”

Libraries offer curbside service Though all 14 of Volusia County’s libraries closed on March 22, online, telephone and curbside service is now being offered.

Volusia announced last week that library cardholders can access the library’s online digital catalogue of materials, and that all outstanding fines are being suspended. Residents who don’t have a card can also call their local library and get one over the phone.

Cardholders can reserve up to 20 items for checkout.

There will also be a storytime live feed every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

H

ow does COVID-19 infect people? Are we likely to see a new version of it next year? What should you do if you think you have it? Dr. Stephen Bickel, the medical director of the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County, answered common questions.

A lot of people have been comparing this to the flu. How is this different?

This is like a Rorschach test, and people react to this anyway they want, because it’s such an unknown. But, one, the [flu comparison] is flatly wrong — and the reason for that is that by the most conservative estimates that I’ve seen, the fatality rate, and even maybe more importantly the serious hospitalization rate, is probably a minimum of 10 times the flu.

We’re already seeing, like New York City and Italy, there are places where the hospitals are overwhelmed. That can happen with a really bad flu to a tiny degree, but nothing like this.

So what makes this different?

It has two factors going for it that viruses hardly ever have together. One: It’s highly contagious … but coupled with that is it’s capable of causing very serious illness in many people. The other kinds of viral threats to our world in the last 30 years, usually they’re one or the other. ... There was a very well-respected study that came out of Imperial College; their projection was, absent any control measures, this could infect 81% of the population and cause 2.1 million deaths. ...

Far and away the most serious illnesses are in older people. ...

Influenza can hit really young children really hard; this one doesn’t seem to.

How does this virus get into people, and what does it do once it’s there?

The way it’s transmitted, for the most part, is what’s called droplet transmission.

The infected person coughs, and little droplets with virus particles in them land on certain places, and people inadvertently will be touching those surfaces.

People put their hands on their face about 90 times a day, without knowing it. ... And then they inhale it from there, or swallow it and then it gets into their respiratory tract. It isn’t like people cough or breathe and it goes into air particles and that’s how we get it; when that happens, its called aerosolized.

How does it cause damage?

It really focuses in, when it causes serious illness, on the lower respiratory tract and also the lung tissue adjacent to these airways, and it causes pneumonia. If the invasion is serious enough, the cells get damaged. The tissue fills up with fluid and you can’t exchange oxygen. You can ultimately die, because eventually that causes too much damage to the rest of the body.

Is this something we might see again next year?

Yes. It may mutate a little, so it’s a little less virulent. ... There’s a lot of speculation that if we’re successful in our containment now, that there’s going be another two, three waves of it in the next 12 months. The only thing that really stops these things is herd immunity, either through a vaccine or already having had the infection.

Do people develop immunity after getting it?

We really don’t know yet ... but it’s usually happened.

When this is transmitted, to what extent is this something

ABOUT TESTS AND MASKS ...

“Anyone who gets an upper respiratory infection these days should presume that they have or could have COVID. They should isolate themselves — if they’re in a home with other people, to a room. Those people should wear masks ... and, until they’re over their illness, they should presume they’re infectious.

“It would be nice to be able to test all those people, but it would overwhelm our testing capacity. For a healthy, young person, the approach is the same, testing or not. ... What should they do while they’re isolating themselves? Well, just do normal measures to deal symptomatically with an upper respiratory infection … monitor their temperature, and watch for the warning sign of COVID — shortness of breath. If that happens, it could be a sign you’re starting to get pneumonia. That’s when to really think about getting medical advice.

“One thing I wanted to talk about is the masks: People think, or some people think, that wear-

that’s being mostly passed among family members or people living and working together, versus, say, someone picking it up from a stranger in the supermarket?

It does seem to require some degree of close contact; it’s not just a random encounter. ... If you’re living with someone who has it, it’s going to be hard not to get it. But you don’t generally get it walking by someone in the supermarket.

How much should we worry about getting this from things we bring into our homes? Like if we order pizza, and the pizza delivery guy has it when he hands you your box of pizza?

It’s not zero, but it’s not a large risk. But if you want to make it even less, the way to do it is every time people come in front outside ... thoroughly wash your hands, and if you touch the same box again ... wash again.

“The only exception to that is, health care workers working closely with patients are advised to wear the masks. ... The average person shouldn’t feel like wearing a mask will protect them. The reason is, it’s not an aerosol-transmitted infection; it’s a droplettransmitted infection, and that’s why handwashing is such a big deal.”

I don’t know if our government would have pushed harder two, three weeks ago, if the public would have stood for it. But now, I’ve been pretty pleased with state, local agencies. ... There’s been a lot of really impressive activity in the last couple weeks, and also, we’re getting into a pretty strict containment strategy ... which is kind of the level you need to really stop this. I think we’re close. The thing I worry about, though, is the last month, what’s already happened: We had Bike Week, we had Spring Break — there could be just thousands of cases incubating in Florida right now. And these containment measures seem to work with a 20- to 30-day lag, so we could have a real spike. We might have a rough month. Potentially enough to overwhelm some of our hospitals.

“I just urge people to take this seriously. There are many, many people who are going to die from this. And some of the younger people think, ‘Oh, it’s no big deal.’ And that’s generally true — for them. But if they have a grandparent around, and help to spread this, it’s not good for anybody.

We’re really in a kind of a war.”

Hospitals gear up for COVID-19 No mask shortages here, hospital officials say.

Restricted visitation, no elective medical procedures — two new policies instated at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, AdventHealth Palm Coast and Halifax Health hospitals in light of the threat of spreading COVID-19. All three hospitals have reported at least one case of coronavirus.

AdventHealth began restricting patient visitation across Central Florida on Monday, March 23, only permitting exceptions for underaged and obstetric patients, as well as patients with extenuating circumstances such as endof-life. Halifax Health began similar restrictions Wednesday.

Due to an executive order issued by Gov. Ron DeSantis on March 20, all hospitals and doctor’s offices are prohibited from providing “any medically unnecessary, non-urgent or non-emergency procedure or surgery.”

For AdventHealth, that frees up the personal protective equipment (such as masks and shields), and renders them available for doctors and nurses to use when examining a possible case of COVID-19, said AdventHealth Palm Coast CEO Dr. Ron Jimenez.

AdventHealth is isolating anyone who could potentially be infected with coronavirus.

That’s one of the reasons behind restricting visitors.

“Obviously, the hospital is a high-risk place, so we don’t want to expose a visitor to a potentially infectious patient, and we obviously don’t want the opposite to happen, where a potentiallyinfected visitor visits a patient that might not otherwise be infected,” Jimenez said.

In a statement, John Guthrie, vice president of Communications for Halifax Health, said his hospital is opening an alternate treatment area to screen patients with respiratory symptoms.

“It is our objective to not have patients with respiratory symptoms enter the hospital unless it is medically necessary,” Guthrie said.

If you test positive for COVID-19 after being tested elsewwhere, don’t come to the hospital. Jimenez said those patients should isolate themselves in their homes.

As concerns of mask shortages rise nationwide, Jimenez said AdventHealth is “well-stocked” across the company. At a county press conference Tuesday, Halifax Health doctors said they had an adequate supply too.

“But there’s always concern that if supply doesn’t keep up with demand, then there could be a shortage in the future,” Jimenez said. “So we’re trying to think ahead with regard to being prepared for any potential issue that hits us with regard to running out of equipment.”

Jimenez said people in the community should assume everyone they encounter has COVID-19 and act accordingly.

“If everyone did that, the virus would end up dwindling out relatively quickly,” Jimenez said.

son was being treated for COVID-19 in Flagler County because the state has been categorizing Florida resident cases by the county in which the residents live, not the one in which they’re being treated. The DOH made the decision to tell the community that a patient is being treated at AdventHealth Palm Coast after Corsentino shared that information in a public post on Facebook.

Corsentino said she’s a single mom who’s on the road a lot for work. “When I got sick, it happened very quickly,” Corsentino said — first sniffles and a runny nose, then a fever of 104 degrees.

She tried to get tested, but medical personnel at first told her she didn’t meet the CDC criteria.

“I was told repeatedly if I had not traveled internationally … that I had no reason to be concerned that this was anything more than a flu bug,” she said.

When she went to an urgent care clinic in Palm Coast, her lungs were in such poor shape that she was sent to the ER, where she was tested.

Her children, who attend Buddy Taylor Middle School and Flagler Palm Coast High, were not initially tested, and were told to wait for symptoms. Her son, Vincent, who attends FPC, has since tested positive, she said later on WNZF. “contact tracing,” which means they would examine everyone with whom the COVID-19 patient has been in close contact. He said he would contact the Volusia DOH to understand why it had apparently not been happening.

At the hospital, Corsentino said, she was placed on oxygen therapy and a number of medications. Her lungs were X-rayed.

“Apparently I came close to needing a ventilator, but thank goodness, that was not necessary,” she said.

She was not allowed visitors, including family.

She said residents may need to “advocate a little bit more aggressively” for themselves if they’re feeling serious symptoms.

“You know your body; I knew I was sick,” she said. “I’ve never had 104 fevers in my life, and I just kept doing what they said and stayed home and tried to medicate with over-the-counter meds and stuff and — I would hate for someone else who maybe is older, or not as healthy, to take the wrong advice and not get treated and not get tested in a more aggressive fashion.”

Snyder, speaking on the radio show, said testing criteria are becoming less restrictive as tests become more available. DOHFlagler got its first shipment of 100 test sampling kits March 19.

“I think this was an opportunity for the protocol to change, relative to now indicating whether we have a positive case diagnosed and treated in the county, and yet they don’t live in that county,” Snyder said.

When Ormond Beach residents Chad and Mallory Hatmaker considered how to help their community as COVID-19 concerns grew, they knew they wanted to help kids.

And, that they could so by helping to keep local parks and splash pads clean.

The Hatmakers own Soap and Sea Soft Washing, a cleaning company specializing in power washing, house and roof washing services, and they have been reaching out to the community offering to donate their services for play structures at schools, parks and other common areas.

It’s not the first time they do something like this. Last month, Soap and Sea Soft Washing cleaned the Riverbend Park playground for Random Acts of Kindness Day. “We know that kids might not always be sick, but they sure are some little germ-carriers,” Chad Hatmaker said.

The Hatmakers are parents to two young daughters, both under the age of 4, and as a family, they utilized the city’s parks and splash pads often.

On Wednesday, March 18, Chad Hatmaker and his employee Chris Cope headed to Tanger Outlets to clean the splash pad. He has also been contacting grocery stores, apartment complexes and local

businesses to see if help is needed to keep common areas clean.

“It’s scary — walking outside and not knowing what you could come back with,” Chad Hatmaker said.

Their business has also been impacted by the coronavirus.

In the last week, they’ve lost $30,000 of commercial work.

But these trials have only furthered their belief in the importance of supporting small local businesses; Chad Hatmaker said they can’t afford to shut down for a week.

Mallory Hatmaker, a former nurse, said they were exploring ways to help other businesses in the area. If small businesses can

band together, she said, there is a better probability they will all be standing when the COVID-19 situation tapers off.

“We were thinking about what small businesses we really like in Ormond, and hopefully, once stuff gets going again, we’d like to get some gift cards and give them to our customers so they can try the places out,” she said.

What keeps them positive?

Their faith.

“As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we have a strong belief in what the Bible promises for the future,” Chad Hatmaker said. “One of those things is a perfect Earth where we won’t have to worry about sickness or death ever again.”

Whatever trials we face, he said, this current situation is temporary.

The number of people allowed inside the EOC is also limited to comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guideline of congregating in groups of less than 10. Anyone who comes in has their temperature checked.

Alongside Sievers at the EOC on Friday morning was Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey, who said the Police Department is asking officers to cut back trips to the station and sending all nonessential employees to work from home. Social distancing, he believes, will be the cure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

It’s a stressful time for all, Godfrey said. He highlighted the city’s Public Works employees, who are also working long hours.

As a city, we have been practicing good social distancing efforts for at least the last week, and I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for the response we are seeing from our residents.

I have noticed folks reaching out to their neighbors offering help with groceries and supplies, restaurants adapting and providing to-go options/delivery services, and reminders for all that even though we are socially distanced and not gathering, we are staying connected to each other. Our community spirit is what makes Ormond Beach the amazing community that it is!

Governor, we need economic hope This is now a two-front war. Unless there is decisive action, Florida’s economy is facing an epic catastrophe.

At some point in a governor’s term, he or she will face a major crisis. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ test is COVID-19. He will be remembered forever for how he led the state through this crisis.

And at this point, it’s time for Gov. DeSantis to step up.

Florida’s economy is on the verge of an epic catastrophe.

Unless the economic side of this crisis is addressed swiftly, decisively and with a spirit of hope, we would go so far as to say the damage to the families of the 9 million working Floridians will be larger and more severe than the health effects of the virus on Florida’s 21 million population.

We know the first priority of the coronavirus crisis was to address the health front, but over the past two weeks it became clear the second front of this war — the economic front — was rising with the same virulence.

It is no exaggeration to say every business owner in Florida is looking at his or her cash balance with a fear that is bordering on helpless panic, asking, How long can I last?

How long can I keep paying my employees so they can feed their families?

Florida has 2,333,578 for-

profit and not-for-profit businesses. Ninety-nine percent — or 2,310,242 — have fewer than 100 employees, most with fewer than 20. The vast majority are stressed about survival.

Their employees are working at home today, wondering: Will I have a job tomorrow?

Let’s get even more granular on the most pronounced effect on Florida’s economy. Consider this: 3,068,000 Floridians (moms, dads, etc.) are employed in tourism, hospitality, restaurants, retail trade and affiliated trade and wholesale businesses. That’s 34% of all jobs, the most in the state.

These are the businesses that typically have the least financial wherewithal to withstand a shock like this. These businesses need immediate assistance — not two weeks from now. They need it now!

While our public officials are acting out of a rational, heightened sense of caution, there seems to be little costbenefit analysis. To be blunt, we are suggesting that public officials are acting hastily and with emotion more than with facts. Understandably, it appears they are afraid to be accused of not following the official crowd.

We know the above statements will bring criticism. But we are urging Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Senate President Bill

Six steps to save Florida’s economy 1) Call House and Senate leaders back to Tallahassee and work on immediate economic measures to re-open our economy.

2) Convene a Business Task Force, led by the governor, of no more than 10 business executives and owners. They should be people who have been through crises before and represent primarily small businesses of fewer than 500 employees.

3) Because Florida’s finances are strong, the state should issue up to $10 billion in 50-year bonds to fund one-time initiatives. Now.

4) To save Florida’s restaurant industry, we should immediately provide every voter a $100 or $150 debit card issued by the state — a $1.3 billion or $1.5 billion

All beach ramps in Volusia will remain closed until further notice, the county announced during a press conference on Tuesday, March 24. Volusia currently has 19 cases of coronavirus.

County Manager George Recktenwald said this measure of crowd control to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 worked in the last few days. The county is expecting the number of beachgoers to increase again this coming weekend, as well as a midday high tide. Recktenwald said this will likely cause clusters of people to be closer together, but that Volusia County Beach Safety will be enforcing the sixfeet distancing guideline by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and will make adjustments as necessary.

“We’re prepared to limit parking on our beachside lots as needed to proactively control any potential crowding,” Recktenwald said. “Beachgoers must follow or exceed social distancing practices.”

The indefinite ramp closure is the only new prevention instated

by Volusia. Sheriff Mike Chitwood announced that a shelterin-place order or curfew will not be issued at this time.

Chitwood said he and other

police chiefs looked at crime data from an overall perspective, and decided against a curfew.

“We already have everything shut down,” Chitwood said. “Bars, restaurants, nightclubs—there’s really nothing for anybody to do.

Why institute another hardship on our community?”

That could all change, he said.

The sheriff also urged residents to avoid panicking.

“You have true professionals who have a passion for taking care of our community,” Chitwood said. “So I would implore you to try to return to life as normal as you could live it in these times.”

Volusia County Council Chair Ed Kelley again asked people to follow the social distancing recommendations by the CDC, but added that people should not isolate themselves socially, and should continue to remotely check up on family members and friends.

Kelley also asked people only buy what they need at stores, and mentioned being glad that day to have found eggs and ground beef at the store. He also said recently, he offered to trade a gallon of bleach for a four-pack of toilet paper, and received three offers, but no one wanted to take him up on the gallon of bleach.

“This is a community event, and we need to be there for each other,” Kelley said.

BRIEFS FDOH issues rabies alert for southcentral Ormond Beach

Ormond Beach pet owners should remain vigilant for the next 60 days, as the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County has issued a rabies alert affecting the south-central part of the city. The alert also impacts nearby areas of unincorporated Volusia County and a portion of northwestern Holly Hill.

FDOH said in a press release that a cat tested positive for rabies on March 17, and that the center of the alert is at Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park. The boundaries of the alert are:  East of Clyde Morris Boulevard  North of Golf Avenue  South of Granada Boulevard  West of Central Park FDOH has issued the following precautions:  Keep rabies vaccinations up to date for all pets.  If your pet was bitten by a wild animal, seek veterinary assistance and call 248-1777.  Call your local animal control agency to remove any stray animals from your neighborhood.  Do not handle, feed, or unintentionally attract wild animals with open garbage cans or litter.  Never adopt wild animals or bring them into your home.  Teach children never to handle unfamiliar animals.  Prevent bats from entering occupied spaces.  Persons who have been bitten or scratched should seek medical attention and report the injury to 274-0634.

KIDS THESE DAYS 11:27 a.m. — 500 block of North Ridgewood Ave. Info. A 56-year-old Ormond Beach woman called police on her teenage neighbor after he refused to say hi to her and then threatening her while passing by her house.

The teenager told her that he didn’t have to say hi to her after she called out to him a second time, police report, and the woman said that he threatened to slit her throat. She told police she followed the teenager, hoping to speak to his mother.

The teenager said that he did threaten to “punch her in the throat,” but only because he felt the need to defend himself as the woman approached him, police report. “I’m just not going to walk by her house anymore,” he told police.

BIKE THIEF WANTED 5:02 p.m. — 400 block of North Nova Road Larceny. An Ormond Beach resident’s bike was stolen at a local park while he used a restroom.

The resident was then told by someone in the park that their friend said he was going to steal the bike, and then actually rode off with it, according to police.

Police later met with the informant, who said he didn’t know his friend’s real name and that he lived in the “south side.”

The resident’s father told police he wanted to press charges.

Ormond Beach resident starts Facebook group to bring community together amid COVID-19 concerns.

hen Ormond Beach resident Stephanie Gonter created a Facebook group to help the community deal with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, she had no idea it would grow to over 2,200 members in a matter of days.

The “Community in the Time of Quarantine” group was born out of Gonter’s desire to help. As the former director of student services at Wyotech Daytona and employee of two local small businesses — Just Peachy Clean and Lola Grace Bridal — as well as co-dean of the Alive faith-based summer camp for high schoolers, Gonter received a lot of support when she posted on her own personal Facebook page that she was looking to help people in need of supplies and groceries.

She started the group on March 14, and in two days, she had already helped feed five different

“I didn’t really know where this was going to go or anything,” Gonter said. “It was my hope to feed one. I’m hoping that through all of this we can continue to connect.”

Gonter, a mother of three boys, knows what it’s like to be in need.

In 2007, she and her husband lost their jobs and house due to the recession. At the time, Gonter had been pregnant with their youngest son.

That was a lonely time for her, she recalled. She empathizes with those who are facing financial hardships now because of COVID-19, and knows how scary it can be to reach out for help.

“I really just kind of wanted to make a place for people to get help and not feel like they’re a charity case,” Gonter said.

The community’s response to the Facebook group has been amazing, she added. People have been dropping off food donations at her house, and she’s been meeting others to pickup donations. As things progress, Gonter also wants to shift the group’s efforts into helping food banks.

Gonter initially thought “Community in the Time of Quarantine,” the name of which was inspired by Gabriel García Márquez’s “Love in the Time of Cholera,” was only going to be composed of her friends and family. But as its grown, she said she hopes to continue to provide help and and a positive outlook for

That’s a Bible verse Crystal and Cuba Hanks, owners of Abaco Windows, are putting into practice daily since the coronavirus pandemic. They’ve opened the doors of their Holly Hill business to the community, acting as a drop-off and pick-up site for food donations, brown bag lunches for children and any other need that comes up.

“Cuba and I, we pray daily that the Lord blesses us to be a blessing, and right now, we’re in a position that we can do those kind of things,” Crystal Hanks said.

She’s been using the “Community in a Time of Quarantine” Facebook group to find those needs. On Friday, March 20, the Hanks helped collect food for a local blind veteran who couldn’t find the groceries he needed in town. They’ve also donated table sugar to nearby Copper Bottom Distillery to allow them to continue to make hand sanitizer for the community.

At one time in their lives, the Hanks needed help, and now they’re able to pay it forward.

“I just think that it’s amazing that everybody is coming together in a time of need,” Crystal Hanks said. “That the

‘It takes a village’ Reagan Realty and Daytona Dream Center team up to feed Volusia families in need during virus outbreak.

What started off as a conversation between Ormond Beach resident Cydney Reagan and her friend soon exploded into a community food drive with over 1,500 bags of food.

With worries surrounding Ormond Beach due to COVID-19, they talked about ways to help the kids who would no longer be receiving meals at school (the conversation took place before Volusia County Schools began distributing meals). Reagan, who owns Reagan’s Realty, reached out to her contacts, and the initiative grew from there. In one week, she received $5,000 in cash donations, plus enough food items to fill a room in her firm’s office.

“People just did what they could,” Reagan said. “A lot of people were apologizing for $10, but what they don’t realize is $10 is 50 packs of ramen, and for the kids that don’t have any food, 50 packs of ramen is a lot.”

She held the food drive on Saturday, March 21, with the help of volunteers. Over 75 cars came to pickup groceries, she said. Each child received two bags, containing a breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as four snacks and a juice box.

Reagan was joined by the

Daytona Dream Center, Calvary Christian Center’s outreach extension. The nonprofit is one of two mobile food pantries in the county, said Tanysha Hartsgrove, of the Daytona Dream Center.

They provided the families who dropped by the food drive at Reagan’s Realty with a bag full of food, which included cereal, bread, peanut butter and jelly.

“Our goal is to really partner with the community and reach more people together,” Hartsgrove said.

The Daytona Dream Center and Second Harvest Food Bank hosted their own free food drop on March 23 and 25 at Calvary Christian Center, which is located at 1687 W. Granada Blvd. Second Harvest brought a semi-truck full of free groceries to distribute. The food drop was open to any Volusia County resident.

Hartsgrove said the heart of Calvary Christian Center is outreach. Everyone has a role to play when it comes to spreading love through actions, she said, and only through coming together will the community have everything it needs.

“It’s important because there are some people who feel like they’re alone, and with so many people around, nobody should ever feel like they’re alone,” Hartsgrove said.

“Our goal is to really partner with the community and reach more people together.”
