BRIEFS Animal Services celebrates 50,000 spay/neuter surgeries Volusia County Animal Services has completed 50,000 surgeries through its trap-neuter-return and low-cost spay/neuter programs, a landmark achievement in the ongoing mission to manage community cat populations and promote responsible pet ownership. This achievement is linked to the county’s state-of-the-art spay/neuter clinic that opened its doors in late 2016 at 1250 Indian Lake Road, Daytona Beach, according to a press release. This facility has been instrumental in providing low-cost and reducedfee animal sterilization services to residents. “Volusia County Animal Services expresses profound gratitude to the dedicated volunteers, partners, and our committed staff who have played a crucial role in achieving this significant milestone,” Animal Services Director Angela Miedema said.
