ennis wasn’t always a part of Michelle Brown’s life. She started out as a mom who was looking to get her daughter into the game. From there, it developed into one of her biggest passions. Brown has been enveloped in the world of tennis for the past 20 years. She is a USPTA Elite Profes-

sional, who previously worked for the USTA Florida section as the team tennis coordinator, overseeing all team programming for the Florida section and running numerous local, regional and national tennis tournaments. She moved to Massachusetts in 2013, where she taught the game for six years. She eventually became the director of youth tennis at Longfellow Tennis and Health Club in Wayland, Massachusetts. There she created a

youth program that saw about 150 kids per week and oversaw a summer tennis camp that was attended by more than 300 kids. She also served as executive director of the USPTA’s New England Division during this time. After moving back to Florida a year ago, Brown was recently hired as Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club’s director of tennis. Brown lived in Florida for 20 SEE ‘A TENNIS’ PAGE 5
