YOUR TOWN Supporting family of young woman who died by suicide Neighbors are organizing to support the family of Alexis Somerford, 27, who died by suicide on May 25 at the family’s home on Farragut Drive in Palm Coast. Somerford has a husband, Kristopher Somerford, and four children, ages 6, 5, 4 and 1. The youngest girl, the 1-yearold, has a medical issue requiring her to wear a medical helmet. The family was being evicted from their home when Alexis Somerford died, and have been displaced to live with family in Daytona. Kristopher Somerford hopes to return to Palm Coast so that the older children can remain at the same schools. “The kids are wonderful, they never fight; they don’t raise their voices,” said neighbor Lydia Doyle-Crisafi, who helped organize the fundraiser. To donate, go to the local Intracoastal Bank branch at 1290 Palm Coast Parkway NW and make a donation to Kristopher Somerford.
