Shopping glee American Legion Post 115 has awarded Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Austin Chewning its Officer of the Year award. The award was presented to Chewning by Cmdr. David Hammond of the American Legion on Dec. 9. The American Legion also presented Sheriff Rick Staly with a donation to the Flagler Sheriff’s Employee Assistance Trust, which assists FCSO employees and their families during a personal crisis. “Deputy Chewning’s hard work and dedication to the community is exceptional,” Staly said. “He is very deserving of this award.
