Dagger Europe kayaks are moulded in HDPE plastic because of its unrivalled strength to weight ratio, abrasion resistance, and durability. We use only the highest quality components including corrosion-resistant brass inserts, 100% stainless steel nuts and bolts. Each kayak is pressure tested and checked for thickness in over twenty places. Models with skegs are water tested. Every Dagger kayak goes through quality control after moulding, fitting and before packaging.

Our plastic commitment

The Dagger UK factory is part of Operation Clean Sweep, an international programme to control plastic waste materials and to keep them out of the environment. Since 2011 we have recycled all the waste material from our rotomoulding and thermoforming kayak production and re-use this in recycled kayaks and parts. We collect and recycle offcuts and swarf created during the fitting process and in-bound bagging for the plastic material is recycled.

We have also improved boat packaging. Reducing thickness of the polyethylene layflat we use to wrap kayaks in transit – cutting the amount of plastic we use in packaging boats by 46% – and added 30% recycled content.
