As we pass the halfway point of 2019, Palmetto Bluff has never felt more alive. We’re now in the heart of summer-vacation season and the property is bustling with activity. We just concluded our 14th annual July 4th festivities with more visitors than ever. The hotel was full and hundreds of members were on property – attending a full line-up of Independence Day events. Our golf cart parade on July 4th set records for attendance with nearly 100 decorated golf carts, bikes, and wagons. With this growth it is fun to think back to our first parade in 2005, when we had just a dozen or so golf carts, many driven by our associates. July also saw the opening of the second location of The Paris Market, the famed and beloved store on Savannah’s Broughton Street. The 1,200-square-foot space located on Boat House Row in Wilson Village will be a wonderland of whimsical and unforgettable treasures, highly curated, offering an exclusive, ever-evolving selection of furniture, art, ceramics and French curiosities. Watching this community evolve into the place we dreamed it would be is extremely rewarding. We’d like to think our commitment to creating a real place, where people experience the best of the Lowcountry, is directly reflected in our real estate sales numbers. And, we are seeing great numbers this year. Through June 30th, Palmetto Bluff has had 129 properties closed or pending worth $102M – versus 92 properties worth $80M for the same period last year. Guest visits have been very strong, with June being our largest real estate tour month of all time, and we continue to see solid bookings for the remainder of the summer and into fall. And we expect this trend to continue as Montage Palmetto Bluff was just named one of the “Top 10 Hotel Resorts in the South” by Travel + Leisure in their annual “World’s Best” awards. As many of you are aware, Palmetto Bluff Real Estate Company joined the local MLS this past February and our migration to that platform has continued to expand our real estate business. Last month, we launched the Builder Guild Home Collection at Palmetto Bluff and already have seven homes closed or pending.
