Connect the SDR33 to the GSR2200/SDR33 cable Create a New Job in the SDR33, accepting the defaults Select the Configure Readings in the FUNC menu and set the recording parameters according to your needs. Check the Tolerances and Units in the FUNC menu and make sure they meet your requirements. Select Instrument in the FUNC menu “Instrument Set-up” will appear TYPE GSR RTK Model GSR2200 Rcvr Mode Rover Store Raw Obs No Description and Serial # information is not critical data Press “F1” for Ant Scroll 2 right to “Marine 3 L1/L2 Ant Meas Method: Vertical (Measured from the base of your antenna tip to the bottom of the brass connector on the antenna.) Press “OK” to accept antenna information Press “OK” to accept receiver information Select “Topography” from the Survey (SURV) menu “GPS Station Set-up” will appear Enter your GPS station point number, antenna height, and position (any coordinate will suffice as you can calibrate to job coordinates later. These coordinates will be used in the Plane projection and stored as the GPOS records. Once the calibration has been preformed, the job coordinates will be stored as POS records) Press “OK” to accept this screen. Press the “Read” key to take your measurements and enter the appropriate point #, antenna height, and code for each point. The “OK” key accepts the reading.

Enter the known coordinates of control points that will be used in a calibration through Keyboard Input, a coordinate list uploaded from a PC, stored as a POS record when shot with a total station or converted to a POS record through the VIEW key. Run Topography and record a GOBS record at each control point being sure to use the same point number as in the control point list. Select GPS Coord System in the SURV menu and select a horizontal, vertical, or a horizontal and vertical calibration. (A horizontal calibration requires a minimum of 2 points; vertical requires a minimum of 3 points.) The SDR will search for points numbers that have both a POS record and a GOBS record. If the current job database in the SDR does not have a POS and GOBS record for a particular point number, that point will not and can not be added to the calibration. (The POS record should contain the actual coordinate for the point.) Press the “OK” key to compute the calibration. Press “OK” and answer Yes to accept the calibration. The calibration can be preformed before, during or after the survey. All GPS data (not ETS data) will be updated whenever the calibration has been computed and accepted. All future calibrations within the same job will overwrite the existing calibration.
