Cedar Cove
A home of inspiration and heart
Introducing one of Port Orchard’s crown jewels: Cedar Cove Manor. This 1909 traditional American Four Square designed home was built by Seattle and Port Orchard's pioneering family Peter F. and Anna Nordby. The Nordby’s raised their four children here, who occupied the home until the 1960’s. The current owners purchased the home in 1995 from it’s second owners.
In 2001, the current owners began a complete restoration of this historic treasure to its’ original opulent beauty which included building a carriage house for additional and separate living quarters. The restoration and enhancements maintained much of the original moldings, handrails, leaded windows and custom duplicated additional items needed to retain its’ original charm. Brazilian Cherry flooring was installed incorporating in-floor radiant heat which became the home’s source of heat.
Finally, in 2007 with its’ restoration complete, the home was opened as Cedar Cove Inn Bed & Breakfast, named after the popular book series Cedar Cove written by local author Debbie Macomber. Since that time, visitors from all over the world have enjoyed the comfort of time forgotten here, peacefully watching the ever-changing maritime traffic of Sinclair Inlet, bordered by the majestic Olympic Mountains.
As with all good stories, Cedar Cove’s current chapter has neared its’ conclusion and seeks to reveal its’ next owner’s story, crafted within the beauty of its’ sconce lined walls, and warm Brazilian cherry floors. Perhaps it is near the crackling fire while watching the inlet’s maritime traffic —-that inspiration blossoms here again, which in days gone by, helped build a supply house and a city, and restore a historic treasure to perfection.
Offered for sale at the asking price of $1,595,500.
