Allegory The theme of "the journey" in literature has always been the most efficient metaphor representing the growth of the hero. One of the most magic aspects that a boat naturally embodies, is her capacity to turn on your dreams. And not only that, but she represents a wonderful way to discover new ports, to explore new lands and to see the world from a different perspective. In summer, on the beach, we all turn our eyes towards the horizon, admiring the meeting point between sea and sky. But suddenly a boat appears, crosses the landscape and becomes the focal point of our view. Whether she is big or small, in front of her we widen our dreams for a while and start to imagine other people's lives. Who knows whose that boat is? Be it dream or innocent envy, the watcher tries with his own imagination to enter a magic world made up only by beautiful things, good life, comfort everywhere, everlasting happiness. The boat acquires a second dimension: she exists for those who can concretely enjoy her - fulfilling their dreams - and for those who can only admire her from the shore - remaining desire, aspirational or close to achievement. As in an allegorical paiting, every person becomes an emblematic figure surrounded by a mystic-real landscape and symbolic objects in sharp contrast with the material life. Also for the Profane who owns and enjoys the boat, she is like a sacred image, a cult object. Her almost unique capacity to offer multidimensional experiences allows you to access a parallel world where you can spend your time and vacation enjoying the very best that life has to offer for the pleasure of the mind: landscapes, sea, ocean life, nature, discoveries, adventure, lands, cultures, food. All aspects that harmoniously merge with earthly delights: entertainment, conviviality, exclusivity... and a hint of natural showing-off and pure boast.

Support, the monumental installation by Lorenzo Quinn at the Ca' SagredoHotel, Biennale Venice 2017
THE COMPLEXITY OF THE WORLD
VIVA ARTE VIVA IS THE TITLE CHOSEN BY CHRISTINE MACEL FOR THE 57TH INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITION. SHE EXPLAINS HER PROJECT AS FOLLOWS.
«
In a world full of conflicts and jolts, in which humanism is being seriously jeopardized, art is the most precious part of the human being. It is the ideal place for reflection, individual expression, freedom and fundamental questions. It is a “yes” to life, although sometimes a “but” lies behind. More than ever, the role, the voice and the responsibility of the artist are crucial in the framework of contemporary debates. Viva Arte Viva is also an exclamation, an expression of the passion for art and for the state of the artist. Viva Arte Viva is a Biennale designed with the artists, by the artists and for the artists. It deals with the forms they propose, the questions they pose, the practices they develop and the forms of life they choose. The Exhibition organically evolves in a sequence of pavilions and rooms, offering the spectator an experience, a journey from the interiority to the infinity. These pavilions or Trans-pavilions, which gather artists of all generations and origins, sinuously follow one another like chapters of a book. From the “Pavilion of artists and books ” to the “Pavilion of time and infinity”, a dozen universes tell a conversational and sometimes paradoxical story, concerning the complexity of the world and the variety of positions and practices. The Exhibition also aims to be an experience, representing an extroversion movement towards the other, towards a common place and towards the most indefinable dimensions, opening the pathways to a neo-humanism.
SUPERYACHT DIGEST |
Structurally, the role of the artist is explored over the course of nine chapters, spanning themes as distinct as ‘earth’, ‘colors’ and ‘time and infinity’. Each does not only account for the artist’s practice in isolation, they further set out to investigate how
such creative acts resonate and bring
about change in the world.

The hyperrealistic sculpture by Quinn, created for the occasion of the Biennale Venice 2017, represents the threat of the climate changes and their impact on the landscapes, both on the unspoiled nature and cities. Behind the meaning of “Support”, with its magical, fairy-tale irony, there is, however, the positive action by the forces of nature, whose splendour and beauty ligth up the canals of the Venice, bringing hope and new life.

ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY In the following pages we are presenting a comparison between art and photography: both expressions, despite their different dimension and target, share some common values and are introspection-oriented. Jeff Brown is one of the world's leading superyacht photographers. Co-founder of Breed Media, which provides a complete creative media service to the global superyacht and luxury market, he has been working in photography and design for over 15 years. Creative mind, his unique vision led to his photographic success, a clear result of his creative knowledge and ability to see what others don’t. His background in design allowed him to see the bigger picture and interpret clients' wishes different to most. He has a calm and relaxed manner and approaches each and every project with an enthusiasm that is evident throughout his work, be it photography, film or design. The vision of Jeff Brown has reminded us to the atmopsheres evoked in some installations now exhibited in Venice. September 2017

In this page - If on one side we have a gigantic animal in a wild reaction towards the human being, on the other side, with the photo by Jeff Brown, we have serenity and harmony between two elements in close link with each other. The similarity of the two images is given (1) by the disproportion "horse/boat and woman", conceived almost as a paradox, (2) by the breathtaking effect of the two images, both created through two elements put in dialogue with one another, (3) the provocative challenge-attitude between "man and nature", which gives to the scene a sense of supernatural dimesion, taking the observer on a journey of different experienes: joy, fear, love, laughter, tears and... power.
Claudia Fontes, The Horse Problem The Horse Problem is Claudia Fontes’ proposal for the Pavilion of Argentina at the Biennale Arte 2017. The installation shows a bullet-time frozen scene in which a horse, a woman and a young man react in different ways to a paradox: a crisis is developing, and its symptoms are, at the same time, the problem that causes it. The scene is inspired in XIX century cultural icons around which Argentina’s cultural identity was artificially built, and challenges them with a surreal breathtaking scene that has the quality of an apparition.

In this page - The beauty of a big sail yachts is given through the magnificence of the colours and the chromatic contrast with the sea. A very similar effect to the artwork by Sheila Hicks, if we consider the imperfection of the surfaces created by the wind, the dramatically poetic curves and the gigantic effect compared to the man.
"Description" Photo Š Jeff Brown, Breed Media
A bit of color! At the Biennale 2017 textiles are everywhere, with an almost prominent presence in the form of embroidered sculptures, large-scale installations, knitted dolls and painted dresses. Softness and colors are mainly found in the highly-Instagrammed roundness of Escalade Beyond Chromatic Lan" by Sheila Hicks, a gigantic installation where the sense of poetic roughness is given through the expression of a real love for colours and imperfect surfaces and materials.

Il Mondo Magico (The Magical World), presents the work of three Italian artists Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Roberto Cuoghi, and Adelita Husni-Bey - whose practices suggest a new faith in the transformative power of the imagination, and an interest in magic. With references to magic, fancy, and fable, these artists see art as a tool for inhabiting the world in all its richness and multiplicity. This installation by Roberto Cuoghi is a reasearch in the transformative power of the matter and in the fluidity of the identity. The space has been conceived as a laboratory for divine figures along a path towards ascetic perfection.

MURANO 5.0 ALESSANDRO CIFFO, A MAESTRO IN WORKING WITH SILICON. EXPLOITING SILICON TO THE EXTREME IS THE CORE OF ITS ART, IT IS THE SOLE MATERIAL CAPABLE OF EXPRESSING HIS EMOTIONS TO THE FULL. VENICE DESIGN 2017 is the largest design exhibition running alongside La Biennale di Venezia. During the Art Biennial, from May 13th to November 26th 2017 (European Cultural Centre), VENICE DESIGN intends to show a glimpse of the approaches of today’s international designers and is a testimony as well as an evidence of the current design scene.
Around 50 creators from 25 different countries and of various cultural backgrounds, ages and points in their career are invited to present their concepts and approaches towards design. Palazzo Michiel has become the place where design perspectives confront themselves and VENICE DESIGN takes the shape of an international platform for design investigations, contemporary mutations and innovative creative attitudes.

From an observation of today’s design scene, the vast and precious collection of creations in VENICE DESIGN offers a reflection on its paradoxes and analogies. Inspiring and fascinating, each creation in Palazzo Michiel is here to raise curiosity and interest towards the role of design in our daily life and dreams. Each design represents a keen research to be ultimately accomplished by the creation of an item; this may be a unique piece of furniture, a both beautiful and functional object, a light system, a piece of jewellery, an illustration or a hybrid between any of these.
VENICE DESIGN also intends to show its visitors the design landscape of Venice. A city map has been created enabling visitors to discover around 40 independent designers all living and working in Venice. This collaboration between VENICE DESIGN and Venetian designers invites visitors to find new inspiration by exploring the singular traditions and original design processes taking place in Venice, sometimes in plain sight, sometimes tucked away in an alley. The synchronicity of two events is behind the creation of the MURANO 5.0 collection: first, I discovered a new type of silicone that is very transparent and has an excellent consistency. Second, I visited a glass factory in Murano and met some of the best glass blowers working today. I was drawn in by the gestures of the maestro vetraio, by the skill, knowhow and history behind them. Inspired by the great vetrai of the 20th century, I began to create pieces that mirrored their work. I found that the pieces that came out best were the ones that created the illusion of being in blown glass while retaining silicone’s typical freshness. SUPERYACHT DIGEST |

I kept on experimenting, trying out new techniques and creating a collection that was all my own, a combination, a “contamination” of past with present that looks towards the shape of the future. The MURANO 5.0 collection is a way to look beyond, to change our outlook by short-circuiting knowhow with innovation. Instead of changing the production method, change the material, just like I’ve used silicone in the place of glass. Alessandro Ciffo

THE AGE OF THE PIRATES
ROMANTIC, TECHNOLOGICAL AND HIGHPERFORMING, THE CLIPPER STAD AMSTERDAM, A REPLICA OF A TRADITIONAL 19TH CENTURY DUTCH CLIPPER, HAS BECOME A PRESTIGIOUS TOP LEVEL MARITIME TRAINING CENTER.
T
he 76-meter long, three-masted, Clipper Stad Amsterdam - a replica of a 19th century Dutch Clipper vessel - was on display last June in the Italian ports of Genoa and Livorno thanks to Randstad, the world's second-largest HR service provider. Randstad employs the vessel for business cruises as well as corporate workshops on job seeking and recruitment: from the "HR Trends & Salary Report" to Fondazione ITS' Technologies Talent Factory, from career anchors to the project "Training to Win". The clipper is also a prestigious sail training center for young sailors to be of all nationalities. Just the sight of it is amazing, superb with its sails wide open to the wind, bringing the mind back to old stories of pirates and hidden treasures, remote lands and brave heroes. But the fascination from the past is just a part of the ever-present charm of the Clipper Stad Amsterdam, a perfect replica of a traditional 19th century Dutch Clipper that has been equipped with the most advanced instruments to become a prestigious top level maritime training center and one of the fastest vessels in the world, the winner of several international tall ship races for the city of Amsterdam. In fact, the Clipper Stad Amsterdam is one of only two seaworthy clippers in the world, also thanks to its highly-performing hull. The vessel is a historical reconstruction built in 1997 in conjunction with Amsterdam's City Council and Randstad Group, the world's second-largest HR service provider. Besides being a permanent international training center for young people who want to acquire all the necessary technical skills to be part of a ship crew and represent the capital of the Netherlands in global races, the Clipper is also employed by Randstad in several world locations to host single or multiple-day business cruises

and hold technical workshops and seminars. It is exactly as Randstad's preferred location for corporate and business events that the Clipper plied the Ligurian Sea and then the Tyrrhenean Sea last June, for daily trips and evening workshops open to CEOs, entrepreneurs, training leaders, HR directors and decision-makers and hosted by Randstad Italia. During the 6 daily cruises (4 leaving from Genoa from June 17 to June 21 and, the guests were able to enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the coasts of Liguria and Tuscany while putting their skills to test in different sailing activities. The Clipper Stad Amsterdam is the exact replica of a 19th century Dutch Clipper, one of the vessels that plied the great trade routes of the world, carrying cargoes of tea and spices. It was built between 1997 and 2000 thanks to an ambitious reskilling project: during construction, the Clipper provided work experience and training for 138 unemployed people who had traditional artisanal ship building skills, equipping them with the new skills they needed to succeed in the workplace. Today, the Clipper provides trainees in the sailing and hospitality industries with work experience and the chance to learn new skills. The vessel is one of a kind: the vintage look is married to a modern hull while the interior contains 14 luxury cabins, a spacious dining room (the long room) for dinners and presentations (capable of seating 55), and an al fresco bar on the main deck. It can accomodate up to 115 people for day trips and long cruises and it can provide a buffet meal for 150 people when at anchor in ports. The crew includes the captain that, with four officers, directs a multinational crew of 30 employed in sailing, technical and hospitality activities. "The Clipper Stad Amsterdam was in Italy to marry a sailing trip along the most beautiful coasts of the Belpaese with networking and training events and leisure time - says Marco Ceresa, CEO, Randstad Italia - The Clipper truly embodies Randstad's values: top level training and specialization, the aim for perfection, the multinational trademark. The vessel was built between 1997 and 2000 while accomplishing a training on the job and reskilling plan for 138 young unemployed people. the vessel is still offering training opportunities for sailing and hospitality professionals while giving them unique life experiences. Someone say it is futuristic, others say it is one of the ugliest ever built. Sailing yacht "A", built in 2016 by Nobiskrug for a Russian billionaire and designed by archistar Philippe Stark, is undoubtedly one of the most visionary projects and challenge of the industry. Born from the desire of the owner to push the boundaries of engineering, Sailing Yacht "A" is the most photographed ship this summer, icon of the sea that has been attracting spectators and yacht enthusiasts, involving them in fun activities on the social media, especially on Instagram, and fascinating everyone as a magic pirate ship suddenly appeared on the horizon. Eye-catching and mysterious, massive and impressive, designed with highly advanced lines and shapes, definitely far from the current most common contemporary taste, and for this reason perceived as an alien object, for some unknown reason, materialised among the waves.

The Lineage 1000E - Skyacht version, is an ultralarge luxury jet with a range of 4,600 nautical miles, which takes the private jet experience to a level never before accomplished.
Much of the inspiration for the Skyacht™ One is a custom commission yacht called the Thunderbird built by master boat builder John Hacker in 1939 for George Whittell, an heir to one of San Francisco's wealthiest families. Whittell wanted a powerboat for use at his Lake Tahoe home that matched his polished Douglas DC2. Back in 1939 Whittell was in love with his Douglas DC2 Aircraft. The gleaming fuselage and streamlined shapes drove him to commission the Thunderbird, a fantastic Hackercraft motor yacht to match his airplane. This confirmed Embraer design team's earlier notion of a flying yacht. Whittell had made it only in the opposite direction, only some years before.

WHAT'S YOUR DREAM? SKYACHT ONE, SKYRANCH ONE AND THE NEW MANHATTAN, ARE JUST THREE DIVERSE THEMATIC EXAMPLES OF HOW EMBRAER CAN TRANSFORM LINEAGE 1000E.
THE RETURN OF MODERN DESIGN - Gatsby is great again in this exclusive new concept. With Embraer's flagship Lineage 1000E as a canvas, Manhattan is modeled on the luxurious ocean liners and art deco design of the 1930's, and takes the town by recalling the elegance of a bygone era in it's many entertainment zones. Embraer Executive Jet's VP of Interior Design, Jay Beever was inspired by the spacious luxury of Ocean Liners like the SS Normandie and the HMS Queen Mary and the elegance of the Art Deco period.

THINK DALLAS! LINEAGE 1000E IS SKYRANCH. Once proved that a yacht can fly, why not think bigger? Embraer design team questioned everything about what luxury was and came back with "complicated simplicity". Luxury should be frictionless and more casual. Capture the solitude and privacy, the romance of the wide open spaces. And after all, aren't the skies the last frontier of privacy? They saw an opportunity to really create something elegant, but relaxed, inspired by the legendary Texan oil tycoon J.R. Ewing from the Dallas series, a character depicted as a covetous, egocentric, manipulative and amoral oil baron, who made a piece of the story of the city.

Born in Greece and now living in California, Eugenia Loli is one of the most talented and appreciated modern collage artist today. Filmmaker, illustrator, as vintage collage artist she has been published in the most important magazines. Before art took over her life, she was in the technology sector. In the vast majority of her works, there's a meaning behind them. She usually present a "narrative" scene in her collages, like there's something bigger going on than what's merely depicted. Sometimes the scene is witty or sarcastic, sometimes it's horrific with a sense of danger or urgency, She leaves it to the viewer's imagination to fill-in the blanks of the story plot.

two swimming pools, three large outdoor decks and additional water-level access on both sides of the hull.
The project - to be intended as a design proposition - was presented in London in June this year by Rossinavi and Pininfarina. United by passion and experience in sculpting custom-made forms, Pininfarina and Rossinavi have created a project that reinterprets the shapes and the distribution of a 70-metre yacht.

The central component of the main deck hosts guest cabins. Within, there is a longitudinal balcony covered with a folding bulwark to offer guests an outdoor private space during cruising and harbour. The hull’s form is shaped by integrating the longitudinal balcony and offering, through large windows, view of the side and the bow from the inside of the cabins. The hull is also characterized by an elegant chamfered shape that evolves from the bow to the stern. This frames a lamellar staircase that characterizes the transom with a detail inspired by the shapes of nature and at the same time recalling Pininfarina’s iconic car design details. WHEN DESIGN IS ART, SHAPES CAN HIDE SUBCONSCIOUS MEANINGS AND LINES END UP TO EVOKING PARALLAL WORLDS, THE ONES OF OUR PRIMAL SELVES, THE ONE OF OUR SOUL. 57
SHAPES UNCONSCIOUSLY INSPIRATED TO FERTILITY The unconscious mind - the hidden part of the mind, being the source of creativity - is a fascinating subject—in art production as well as in many other fields, such as design. In this approach to interpretation, the work of art (or design) is seen as a sign, and interpretation seeks to discover a sign’s objects - icon, index, and symbol.
There are many examples of modern architecture that can be interpreted as phallic, but very few for which the architect has specifically cited or admitted that meaning as an intentional aspect of the design. In this case, design is not an intentional expression of the designers' soul, however, it is interesting to highlight how generous and wide the lines are, and how inviting are the spaces towards the spectator. If it was a work of art, experts would suggest the lines create the shape of a shell, like a womb, evoking desire, fertility... life.

ALLEGORY EVERY TRAVELLER IS LIKE AN HERO
THE BIG THREE THEMES BEHIND YACHT DESIGN: INTIMACY, JOURNEY, NATURE.
I
ntimacy and privacy are the two sensual and psychological dimensions through which space is constructed as interior. Every piece of furniture plays an important role in the meaning of the kind of design chosen: from the position of the sofa up to the direction of the light. All together they inevitably produce the general atmosphere and the relation occupant-space. Moreover, they are all related to a sense of security, control and consequently comfort. For instance, any intruder ascending the stairs from upstairs and entering the living room, would take a few moments to recognize anyone sitting on the sofa. Conversely, any intrusion would be soon detected by a person occupying this area, just as an actor entering the stage is immediately seen by a spectator. Privacy is part of the comfort: they are strongly connected. In fact comfort is an aspect with a dual value: on one side it has a "sacred" quality, in terms of well-being, on the other it can be read in terms of power, or ability to control all areas. Every journey is a new adventure, a way we add a further piece to our knowledge. Design is both an emotional journey and a practical way to live the space: on board a boat the meaning of the journey is strengthened by the navigation and exploration, becoming real adventure. All these elements together will create the final perception of the new experience. You see the world, try new things, meet new people or your family, (fall in love?), visit amazing places, learn about other cultures. All of these aspects complete your experience and make your spirit evolve. These

moments are transformative. The excitement and life experiences that happen when you travel are unlike anything else. It’s hard to capture in words the moment when you see the sunset and the sun descends through the sky, towards the horizon, behind that coast... A glorious sunset is the epitome of fleeting beauty and the psychological effects of admiring the sunset may persist long after the color has faded. Studies show that appreciating natural beauty may boost well-being, increase generosity and enhance life satisfaction. Traveling is a feast for your eyes and it makes you stop and live in that second, minute and moment, while a new sense of wonder and empathy for other cultures and lanscapes inevitably grows. Traveling teaches us to unplug, explore and discover new parts of ourselves. Travel is not something you do—it’s a way of life.
And finally, the contact with nature and the so much evoked passion for the sea, which design interprets with outdoor spaces, natural lighting, large windows, 360 views or with living rooms where the surrounding landscape even informs the interiors. Nature brings our senses alive. Our inborn affiliation for nature may explain why we prefer to live in houses with particular views of the natural world. Spending more time outdoors nurtures our “nature neurons” and our natural creativity. Since ancient times, humans have assigned healing and transformational properties to water. Today, we still turn to water for a sense of calm and clarity. We spend our vacations at sea, get exercise and enjoyment from water sports like surfing, scuba diving, sailing, and swimming. Our affinity for water is even reflected in the near-universal attraction to the color blue. Our brain loves the ocean. We’re naturally drawn to aquatic hues — the color blue is overwhelming chosen as the favorite color of people around the world, and marketing research has found that people tend to associate it with qualities like calm, openness, depth and wisdom. The market is positive towards the Explorers, as a new trend of living luxury: exploring far continents, cruising through glaces, meeting the local fauna and enjoying the northerns lights (aurora borealis), is the ultimate experience in luxury travels.
The Three Graces, Antonio Canova 62
However, be it a luxury yachting experience or just a trip, every journey is a multidimensional discovery and enrichment for the soul. From The Odyssey to the legends of King Arthur to such fantasy books by J.R.R. Tolkien, the theme of the journey serves as an effective metaphor for the hero's inner development and growth.

PY Heritage 45 m - The 45m yacht concept designed by Zuccon International Project for the Italian shipyard Picchiotti Yachts. The project is a tribute to the most important designer who worked for Picchotti, Gerhard Gilgenast, and a reinterpretation of his personal style in a modern key.
BERNARDO ZUCCON | ZUCCON INTERNATIONAL PROJECT How can you create all interiors respecting, in the sequence of space, the sense of privacy? Designing the living space of a yacht includes considering and distinguishing the different "flows" of the crew, guests and owners. It means the larger is the boat, the clearer are these flows, and according to these characteristcs the designer will determine specific areas in order not to create interferences with the daily activities of each passenger. The history of architecture reveals that the right key for the best design development of the spaces is detecting the focal point around which the space comes to life, exactly as the fireplace in the iconic Fallingwater, the house designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935. It is for this reason that the vertical distribution systems - such as stairs and lifts - are the main design elements, which very often are the first ones to be defined. A fluid and clean connection between the decks provides the best privacy in the owners' and guests' area. The aim is to create a kind of axis, a line equipped with pantry, food lift and elevators only for the crew. In this way, owners and guests can benefit from the perfect service on all decks, including the highest level of privacy, without waiving the functional efficiency. How does the need for intimacy and privacy change according to the western and eastern culture?

Cultural differences require different approaches in the creation of the internal spaces: there are needs and habits so specific and typical, that are able to completely modify the layout configuration. Today, compared to some years ago - if we talk about serial and semi-custom builds - we have to provide - by contract - the layout and all the possible versions in order to be able to meet all the different needs of the market, that even if it is becoming more and more global maintains well-defined cultural differences. China, the Americas, the Mediterranean and the the Middle-East, are the areas whose traditions and different lifestyles more evidently influence the life on board. The same model of boat is sold in the Far East but also in the western markets, and so it ends up to radically change its aspect in terms of organization of the space. In the eastern markets, the recreational space, which are primarly created for the entertainment rather than for the joy of the life at sea - become strategically important with a clear and welldefined demarcation of all areas and their different flows (crew or guests). In all these cases, owner' feelings are not romantically moved by the passion of the navigation, which is on the contrary the main purpose of the clients from the Mediterranean regions and the Americas. As a matter of fact, for this kind of clients the design is conceived with more flexibility and greater sharing of the spaces, since the real captain of the boat is - very often - the owner himself. In the Middle-East the religious aspect is often the main element that impacts on the creation of the design: in this case the layout could require a clear distinction (division) between the men's and ladies' areas, whether it's guest or crew. Rule number one: the designer must create a project that can be easily modified and adjusted according to cultural diversity with its specific needs or requirements. 65

SERGIO CUTOLO | HYDROTECH What are the essential elements in the design of an Explorer? The ones that brings on board the sense of "exploring"? "Free man, you will always cherish the sea!" This is a very respectable opinion of Charles Baudelaire who clearly reflects the idea of freedom as strictly connected to the sea, to sailing in the immense sea. I think that one of the main aspects you expect to find in an Explorer Yacht is that special feeling of safety that makes you really wish to cross the ocean. You cannot say exactly what it is, but when you get on board you feel like starting a new life of adventures around the world; maybe this is because your feet walk on a steel deck, covered with thick teak planks, maybe because the walkaround is comfortable and high enough to make you feel adequately sheltered from the ocean waves. It is because everything you touch is giving you the feeling of strength and durability, it is because the big and powerful tender is just letting you imagine remote beaches to explore or because the garage full of toys will surely provide fun and entertainment to all guests. And then you reach your spacious cabin and you immediately feel that all the external world has been left behind you, the thick hull sides sheltering you from noise and waves. In the meantime, the Yacht is leaving the harbor and while the chef is cooking your dinner in the ample and comfortable galley, the stewardess is preparing your cabin for the night: tomorrow you will wake up in a new wonderful island. And the engineer will check all machineries in the big and well laid out engine room. And the exploration continues. The "journey": how can design improve the adventure?

A true Explorer Yacht should incorporate some very particular features. The journey itself will be a very important part of the cruise, not a simple transfer but part of the enjoyment. The design of the Yacht must consider this element. This will happen in different ways. Spaces must be designed and dimensioned considering long periods at sea, even in rough conditions because restricted spaces may cause discomfort among the guests. Huge space must be dedicated to the storage of provisions, guest’s personal belongings, spare parts and so on. The Yacht has to be self-sufficient in all regards: in respect to fuel, with big sized fuel tanks, in respect to fresh water (with high output water makers). Usually Explorer Yachts stay away from harbors, therefore the zero speed stabilizers will be a key factor; We prefer to use electrical ones because they are much quieter when operating. Another very important aspect is the tender. Usually the tender is part of the Exploration and should be as big as possible. For this reason, unless we speak of Yachts above 500 GT, there will not be any garage but the tender will be fitted on main or upper deck and usually towed to free up deck space. The Naval Architecture aspects are also very important: good seakeeping, hull efficiency to improve range, flared bow sections to prevent green water on deck, generous freeboard to keep the deck dry. 67

Arcadia 100+ currently under construxction. Exterior and Interior design project by Hot Lab.
HOT LAB What are the elements used in the creation of the interiors, which can be considered able to enhance the the connection with the sea and the marine landscapes? Are there specific choices - architectural or decorative - in this respect?
The latest trends in the interior design are more and more often inspired by a conscientious, responsible - let's say etically correct - lifestyle towards the word and the nature. Can we trace this trend also in yacht design? PHOTO © Giovanni Malgarini

xplorer Yacht Darwin Class 102’ - christened M/Y Galego - left Cantiere Delle Marche in June to sail for a non stop cruise through the Adriatic coasts until Greece and Turkey. The yacht, built in in steel and aluminum, 102 feet in lenght for 244 GRT, will be officially presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017. The yacht, as every vessel built by CdM and engineered by Hydro Tec for the naval architecture, is the third boat of 102’ feet, after M/Y ACALA and M/Y BABBO, and can be read as a confirmation of the Darwin Class line’s success, which in only 6 years from the launch, together with the CdM Nauta Air range, has pushed the shipyard into a dominant position, representing approximately 60% of the 80to 110-foot steel and aluminum Explorer Yacht market.
The owner and his big family will stay on board until the end of the summer, so they will leave the full experience of a long navigation before crossing the Atlantic Ocean right after the next Cannes Yacht Show.
M/Y Galego boasts a series of interesting customizations, both with regards to function and design.
The already ample spaces were specifically designed and reproportioned in height, exceeding the already excellent standards of all the Darwin Class Explorer yachts.
The interior height allowances were increased to 2.18 meters and consequently, all the doors and the windows were reproportioned, too. This to allow the owner not to suffer any of the classic problems that particularly tall people experience on a yacht of this length.

kyler is the third unit of the Benetti Fast range, equipped with an AZP C65 propulsion system, the most technologically advanced on the market, and will be delivered to her owner in June 2017.
SUPERYACHT DIGEST |

With a length of 38.1m and a beam of 8.3m, built in composites and carbon in Benetti’s Viareggio shipyard, the Fast 125’ is a four deck semi-wide body yacht with a total of 5 cabins.
The sporty exterior was designed by Stefano Righini using an expanse of horizontal windows to accentuate the yacht’s streamlined look. Another key feature is a remarkable central element in the side of the superstructure that covers the access stairway to the upper deck. Her luxurious interior was designed by Redman Whiteley Dixon, based on the “Air” configuration, one of the three interior style options that Benetti offers to their Fast 125’ owners.
The owner, an experienced yachtsman, requested many custom touches such as widespread use of loose furniture from famous design brands such as Glyn Peter Machin, Sutherland, Minotti and Meridiani.

ROLLS ROYCE AZIPULL PROPULSION SYSTEM Skyler is equipped with the new generation propulsion system designed by Rolls Royce specifically for the Fast 125’ family: the Azipull Carbon 65 (AZP C65). The Azipull is a high performance, lightweight, steerable thruster that uses carbon fibre throughout, even for load carrying parts. This innovation has substantially reduced the propulsion system’s weight and allowed for a better vessel layout while maintaining high propulsion efficiency and easy maintenance. The system offers excellent manoeuvring capabilities both in navigation and while docking. The yacht is also equipped with a joystick on the bridge for easy and safe docking. Another notable feature of Skyler’s propulsion system is its “stay on spot” technology that keeps the boat in a position entered in the GPS without mooring or anchoring. “Efficient and lightweight propulsion is key to reducing the environmental impact of a modern yacht,” said Vincenzo Poerio, Benetti CEO. “We have been working closely with Rolls-Royce on a journey towards an optimised propulsion

Another advantage offered by this innovative propulsion system is the Fast 125’s quiet ride: thanks to the Azipull’s reduced weight, the engine room can be placed farther aft leaving the guest cabins quiet and vibration-free. REVOLUTIONARY HULL
Skyler, as per the entire Fast 125’ range, has a revolutionary D2P-Displacement to Planing ® hull form with wave piercer bow that allows the owner to use the yacht in displacement mode with low fuel consumption at low speeds and in planning mode at higher speeds. Both modes allow complete comfort aboard and the yacht has a remarkable maximum speed of 22 knots.
The Fast 125’ series’ excellent performance is also due to the lightness of the hull and a superstructure built in carbon fibre and epoxy resins. This intelligent combination makes the yacht a 40% lighter than a similar boat built with traditional materials and lighter weight equals improved performance.

On the main deck, the saloon is bright and luminous thanks to a generous use of glass that lets natural light flood into the light-toned space. There is a liberating sense of space in the saloon. Loose furniture by top international design firms is used
generously here such as Meridiani and Holly Hunt couches and poufs. The custom dining table can seat ten and was made by Dakota Jackson. The dining area flooring is in wood that has been specially backed with foam to make it feel soft underfoot. 89

INTERIORS - TACTILE EXPERIENCE The interior, designed by Redman Whiteley Dixon in collaboration with Benetti’s in-house design team, is simple, contemporary and clean to leave the natural elegance of the precious natural materials used in the décor intact. The interior finishings feature glossy ebony, Thai wood and Tanganyika frisé wood. The ceilings are finished in a variety of leathers and all metal in the interior- be it taps, inserts or other detailsis glossy nickel, a constant that adds unity to the whole. It was also very important for the owner that living aboard his yacht be a pleasant tactile experience: all materials used in the flooring and the handrails have been chosen to offer the most pleasant and luxuriously soft tactile sensations.
The lower deck has four guest cabins: two VIPs with “super queen” sized beds, a double, and a twin cabin with a pull out Pullman bed. Tanganica fries wood is used throughout and contrasts with ebony table tops, doors and accents. Each cabin has a different coloured leather ceiling with leather accents repeated in walls, upholstery and inserts. The colours chosen are aqua, acid green, lavender and blue.
The full beam owner’s cabin picks up many motifs from the main saloon such as the ultra soft carpeting. A large dressing area with his and hers closets leads into the cabin where Minotti furniture features. Spectacular features are two opening side balconies, one

port and one starboard. The opening mechanism can be operated by remote and these are lovely private spaces for a quiet breakfast or cocktail. The two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bathtub, are entirely lined in onyx and feature polished nickel taps. 90
91
The carpeting is especially soft and is wonderful to walk on barefoot as per the owner’s brief.
The lower deck layout also enjoyed major benefits from the instalment of the new propulsion system. The system’s reduced dimensions allowed for an engine room placed well aft so that more room was left for the sideopening garage with space for an almost 6m tender and two jet skis. The yacht has crew accommodations for 7 to ensure a relaxed and luxurious time aboard. The galley is also on the main deck and was tailor made on the owner needs – who loves to spend some time in this area – with a central island and a custom marble table.
The upper deck sky lounge has a comfortable seating area aft with couches, a marble and onyx bar and a 75” screen. Loose furniture is by Meridiani, Minotti and Holly Hunt. There are also a wellness area and gym, a day head and the Captain’s cabin on this deck. The Captain’s cabin has direct access to the wheelhouse that features dual pilot’s seats and leather and rosewood couches.

THE BOAT SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DESIGNER “There is no other boat like it. The Riva 56’ Rivale is unique in the open segment of these dimensions. We made clear reference in the design concept to one of Riva’s latest success stories, the Rivamare. And it is indeed an elegant, comfortable yacht clothed in soft lines with a contemporary touch. That said, the Rivale is much more than just a day cruiser. It is an open on which the onboard space used in a way that is, quite simply, different. The exterior spaces have been extended and the generously-sized cockpit is a very inviting spot for guests to congregate. Much of onboard life (navigation, socialising, relaxation) takes place in the large aft area. To create this enormous space, we went against the usual open concept by reducing the foredeck somewhat and bringing forward the windshield. The ergonomic design enhances the yacht’s sporty profile. The Rivale is both a craft for long cruises and a day cruiser for shorter trips. By slightly reducing the living area, which is the least used of the protected spaces aboard, we were able to create a roomy, comfortable master cabin with its own en suite bathroom. The interiors exude an understated elegance with each detail having a relevance all of its own and extensive use made of polished mahogany to represent Riva’s DNA and tradition. In terms of the exterior, the innovative console has a simple, linear, contemporary look and is extremely intuitive to use, very much like a smartphone. New optional Seakeeper stabilisers (normally only fitted to larger craft) will make the Rivale ultra-comfortable both underway and at anchor too.”
“The Rivale is a youthful boat with soft, contemporary lines, much in the vein of the latest Riva models. It is designed for dynamic owners that want to take an active role aboard their motoryacht and do their own skippering. Because of its close connection to the sea and the generous spaces it affords, it is perfect for sharing with friends or family. That said, the Rivale does not deliberately set out to evoke the atmosphere of a shore-based home (as happens with larger craft): its design makes it very clear indeed that one is aboard boat. An extremely comfortable boat, of course, just as any RIVA should be. Sergio Beretta, CEO Officina Italiana Design

THROUGH THE EYES OF THE HISTORY
An icon is, by definition, sacred and divine. According to the artistic and religious interpretation, an icon is an abstract and timeless, spiritual and harmonious image. It evokes that sense of pure beauty - supreme and perfect - that leads the human being to contemplation. But beauty and spirituality are not sufficient. An icon is a symbol with a third dimension: the iconic images embody cultural identity and life meanings, becoming guide and pure nourishment for all those who look at them. That’s why landscapes such as Capri or Venice, the influential genius of Warhal, the mysterious charm of Marylin, the unparalled sensuality of Audrey Hepburn and the evocative myth of Riva boats are real icons. 97

TAI PING Luxury custom carpet maker Tai Ping introduces the Scenematic 2017 Collection by André Fu, a bespoke series that pays homage to the urban landscape. The acclaimed Hong Kong architect and interior designer André Fu has partnered with luxury custom carpet maker Tai Ping to create a unique new range of bespoke carpets influenced by the flâneur inspired scenic silhouettes of urban life around the city. The collection, entitled “Scenematic” has launched globally in March with exhibitions at Design Shanghai followed by a display in New York at DIFFA Dining by Design and a launch in Hong Kong in May.
“The collection is not about any one single element of a particular city,” says Fu. “Instead, it represents the very sensual, subliminal cinematographic experience that comes from being immersed in the geometries, light, and reflections of an urban landscape – whether it be Paris, London, Tokyo or Hong Kong – at different times from dusk to dawn. The carpets reinterpret the urban landscape drawing on a mix of innovative yarns, technical innovation and timeless carpet-making traditions to create a complex form of materials, textures and pile heights. Scenematic marks the first time that a Tai Ping collaborator has used multiple production techniques in a single collection. techniques with silk, wool, linen, mohair, cashmere and Matka silk. The rich array of options is key to transcribing Fu’s intimate, poetic experience of the urban landscape through a highly sophisticated graduation from soft, subtle pastels to more intense, darker tones. houseoftaiping.com

Venice and Monte Carlo Yachts share the same DNA and a mutual, significant history. Venice is supreme beauty, uniqueness, enchantment, magic and mystery. It is full of secrets, ineffably romantic. It is the perfect landscape for a world premiere, a little world - almost suspended, without time or spacial limits - where all of your senses are deeply touched by an unusual urban design and an inestimable artistic heritage.

In Venice Monte Carlo Yachts presented its seventh addition to the MCY collection, the MCY 96. The reveal event was held at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in the Island of San Giorgio in Venice: over 400 key clients, journalists and stakeholders from over 35 countries attended the event for the unveiling of this beautiful 30–meter pleasure boat, surrounded by the fascinating frame of Piazza San Marco, one of the world’s most iconic sites. Following this reveal, the MCY 96 will be showcased at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Genova International Boat Show and Monaco Yacht Show in September.

At 30 meters, the MCY 96 takes the second spot on the Monte Carlo Yacht’s size podium. Designed by Nuvolari Lenard, the MCY 96 has been designed and developed for extended ocean voyages according to both Pleasure and Charter Yacht Rules, and may be also registered as a CE–A craft. Design and technical highlights include, bulwarks that are sensibly higher than the current fashion and the wide overhanging side deck that gives good coverage from the elements.
The lower deck cabins layout – of which multiple versions will be available so as to meet the needs of the various international markets on which Monte Carlo Yachts is currently present – features outstanding customisation possibilities with up to six alternative versions already engineered, and more to be elaborated upon specific request.

Angela Pernsteiner, the passionate, dynamic force behind this project . The very name ILUMEN stands for the illumination of ideas and engineering processes, and in the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci. This is exactly what Angela and the team had in mind when they decided to produce this modern work of art.
The tireless dedication of Dominator extends beyond the creation of an outstanding motor yacht and its bespoke appointment to also include a very personal and long-term service. “We consider our clients to be a family of Ilumen owners, so our commitment to them is both flexible in its nature and in its 24/7 availability. This is our bond to owners of an Ilumen yacht, wherever you are, whenever you need us.”
“The Dominator Ilumen yachts are bespoke through and through – from the choice of the hull between a semi-displacement and semi-planing version, to the individual comfort cruising speed, the propulsion system or the complete re-engineering of the internal spaces, to name only a few options,” says Angela.
The first Dominator Ilumen 28M - M/Y Kalliente – will be berthed in the south of France throughout the summer of 2017, starring at the Cannes Boat Show before being the centre of attention during private viewings and events along the Côte d’Azur.

The result is a yachting experience like no other, giving you everything a mega yacht offers but in convenient 28-metre format. Dominator Ilumen 28M sets a new standard in luxury yachting: it is a ground-breaking concept, design and cutting-edge engineering combined with bespoke, personalised dressing. It provides the ultimate balance between performance, comfort and style and in short, it can be considered a unique yachting experience in its class.
Dominator thought big from the outset, applying the technology, processes and quality materials usually reserved for mega yachts. The designers of Alberto Mancini Yacht Design and engineers of NavalHEAD followed the inspired lead provided by Dominator’s owners to arrive at a flowing architecture that harmonises functionality, form, comfort, amenities, power, safety and sea keeping agility like few vessels in its class. “How many motor yachts of this size consistently integrate mega yacht solutions the same the Ilumen

ENGINEERING INNOVATION
Every function and space on an Ilumen – from the engine room to the luxury living spaces – is designed for optimal distribution of weight, space, functionality and aesthetics. “Many yachts foresee zero speed fins; to avoid adding resistance due to appendages we went for a huge gyro stabiliser from Seakeeper capable of a reduction of 80 per cent of the uncontrolled roll angle up to 14 degrees,” says Federico Brumat of Dominator’s Technical Office. To guarantee comfort on board when at speed the Ilumen 28M relies on an advanced full motion damping system capable of roll and pitch motion reduction called Humphree Active Ride Control. It also enhances manoeuvrability, speed and reduces resistance and with it fuel consumption, while ensuring optimal stability in all conditions. The new compact main engine exhaust outlet with Gold Standard warranty was developed together with hydrodynamics specialists Profjord.
Mounted inside the flexible lightweight Dominator High Performance Hull of the yacht are MAN V8-1200 engines that propel the push/pull Counter Rotating Propellers with a combination of power and efficient safety. The Fischer Panda iSeries Generators employ variable speed technology to similarly offer top range effectiveness across in all kinds of conditions, while the approach also extends to comfort-related applications that ensure consistent climate control that avoids costly start-stop cycles. Solar control interlayer film in the glassed areas lowers direct heat transmittance from the sun by 40 per cent to further aid energy efficiency, making the Dominator Ilumen 28M more environmentally friendly and economical to run. Every Ilumen yacht can be prepared to meet the MGN 280 compliance certification that enables them to be operated commercially.

EXPERIENCE-LED DESIGN
Many of the best luxury products are design-led, but with the Ilumen range of motor yachts Dominator goes one step further to develop its offering from the basis of an experience-led philosophy. “We set out to challenge limitations and provide the same sensation of space, elegance and luxury in a 28-metre format that you would expect in a mega yacht, “ says Chief Designer, Alberto Mancini. “When I first saw the hull, deck and superstructure I realised it was the beginning of a new era.” And indeed, the features such as the owner’s cabin, a beautifully curved glass frontage, the rotating beach platform and the impressive fly deck are unique, industryleading features. The Dominator Ilumen is characterised by unique touches and features, such as the handcrafted Purismo Aurelia, a bespoke lightweight carbon e-bike that like the Ilumen 28M represents the pinnacle in its field and adds to the practicality and enjoyment of your yacht. “To us Ilumen is more than just a yacht or a luxurious product. It symbolises the love of manmade beauty that is not only in harmony with nature but complements it and represents a desire to contribute to a better world. To own an Ilumen or strive for one is connected to the obligation to strive for a better world, support our fellow man and promote peace and beauty in the world.” Dr. August Pernsteiner, Visionary

EXQUISITE LUXURY AND EMOTION
In the vision of the shipyard, each and every Ilumen 28M is a thing of beauty, a bespoke synthesis of technology and design that offers a personal palate of options with which owners can create their own personalised haven of comfort, luxury and superlative style.
Custom-made furniture and bulkheads finished in the most opulent materials such as backlit white onyx, ebony, white oak, silk, Zimmer and Rhode fabrics, suede ceilings and satin-like nubuck leather are just some of the possibilities, but as Head of the Dominator Bespoke Office, Giulia Sigismondi, says: “The interior dressing of each yacht is a highly personal affair, so we work with the owners to make it a bespoke design that fits them like a glove in terms of taste and preferences.” The interior distribution is such that it creates a sense of being on a much larger ship, a sensation realised in part through tall ceilings and the use of glassed areas that allow natural light and seascapes to illuminate the luxurious cabin spaces. Nowhere is this approach more impressive than in the skylight and private deck of the master cabin, and it helps to create a truly privileged private space.
Integrated into the interior are ‘zero impact’ invisible speakers in VIP and guest cabins that transform any surface they are embedded into (be it concrete, fibreglass, wood, marble, stone or glass) into a high performance audio system. This state-of-the-art system by Videoworks, incorporating a sound masking system in the main salon and master cabin, provides an advanced audio-visual, communication and entertainment system that includes a private cinema projector on the Sun Deck.
The interior of an Ilumen evokes a subtle harmony of contemporary style and timeless sophistication. To achieve this the Design team selected the finest materials and most prestigious names, such as the Futuristic collection by Hèrmes, which embodies the perfect blend of elements.

CUSTOM FORBIDDEN SX88 | SANLORENZO UNVEILS A NEW CONCEPT OF CROSSOVER MOTORYACHT. PIERO LISSONI CONCEIVES THE INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT FOR THE FIRST MODEL OF THIS NEW RANGE.
S
anlorenzo takes a new step forward alongside some of the most prestigious Italian architects and designers, choosing Piero Lissoni for the interior design of the first yacht from the new crossover line SX88. The model, which will be officially presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival, was previewed at the Triennale in Milan last May. Over the years Sanlorenzo has built a very precise, coherent model, bringing the concepts of architecture and design literally on board, thanks to Patron Massimo Perotti’s intuition, firstly by collaborating with Dordoni Architetti and subsequently with Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel for the yachts’ interior designs.
The work of these designers made it possible to introduce a language and some aesthetic codes from different fields into the world of yachts for the first time, a concept of home living interpreted according to one’s experience and style. This choice allowed to lay the foundations for the collaboration with Piero Lissoni, thanks to the great stylistic and design affinity which immediately emerged between the designer and the company.
The project by Piero Lissoni for the interiors of the new yacht SX88 comes from a very simple idea: designing an open space boat.

By using a totally innovative solution, Piero Lissoni re-interprets the concept of space inside the boat, which develops in a single, continuous setting from stern to bow, with an open kitchen, beside the dining room, followed by a living area with no interruptions between interiors and exteriors, thanks to wide glass walls facing the sea: “I keep picturing boats, even very large ones, as if they were lofts, that is very open, highly liveable spaces, which make it possible to be in contact with what’s around us” Piero Lissoni. 139

A “social” boat which offers a new way to live life on board. On the basis of the profile of this 27-metre vehicle, Piero Lissoni handles shape and function to create some sort of wide, tall sea-loft, with no rigid separations between the internal parts, thanks to a flexible layout: after the basic pattern has been determined, the project makes it possible to choose several modules, from the most extreme variation, an open space solution which represents the project’s primary code and that will be presented in Cannes, to other variations where some parts are closed.

A space that can be easily modulated to fulfil every client’s desires and which, for the very first time allows to decide where the master cabin must be set up. Another major feature of the project was the decision to remove all excesses of functionality inside as well as outside: removing all useless extra spaces and reducing technical spaces while favouring livableness indoors, the design of yacht SX88 uses all depths. All exterior areas show that every centimetre of the boat has been conceived to be used and enjoyed.
140
Piero Lissoni’s stylistic sign also emerges in the choice of furniture, which is a triumph of contamination: design ideas, icons of great masters, objects from the East and objects trouvés mix up to provide the setting with a domestic flavour. A key factor was the counter-current decision to not adapt furniture to space but to arrange it freely as in a home setting.

In line with Sanlorenzo’s policy, SX88 also makes it possible to customise yachts from the viewpoint of design and materials. The palette of available colours and materials can be adjusted to the boat owner’s requests, so that each boat results in a unique creation.

SX88’s construction process is based on low environment impact procedures and materials developed by Sanlorenzo. Thanks to the combination of high power lithium batteries with new lighting technologies, low consumption systems, efficient thermal insulation assured by the special new insulating glass fit on the windows, SX88 can use all the services on board for 4 to 8 hours at “zero emissions”. Because of these features Rina awarded SX88 with the Green Class. The international market already welcomed SX88, buying the first six units.

The ultra-large Lineage 1000E offers true versatility — five cabin zones in multiple configurations, with room to spare worthy of a home away from home. With an extended range capacity of 4,600 nm, the Lineage 1000E can operate in some of the world’s most restrictive airports, including London City, Teterboro and Aspen, offering the advantage of low operating costs. All of which moves this aircraft comfortably beyond convention – and well into an experience unlike any other. The Lineage 1000E offers plenty of room for all 19 passengers: the cabin is 25.7 m long by 2 m high. The master suite is optional and features a walk-in shower and a large bed. The fully equipped two-sided galley includes cold and hot water, ice drawer, refrigerator or wine chiller, coffee brewer or expresso machine, convection oven, microwave oven, and enough space to hold sufficient food and drink for intercontinental flights. SUPERYACHT DIGEST |

The Lineage 1000E also boasts the largest in-flight accessible baggage compartment in business aviation: with up to 9.14 cubic meters, passengers have plenty of room to store their luggage and access it any time during long flights (plus the 3.4 cubic meter external baggage compartment). This ultra-large jet’s exceptional reliability has been proven by more than 8 million hours of flight time on the Lineage 1000E and E-Jets platform. The GE engines feature high fuel efficiency and reliability, with a modular design that allows for easy replacement of components. An intuitive cockpit with dark and quiet philosophy gives pilots greater comfort and easy access to all systems and controls. A Honeywell Primus Epic avionics system reduces pilot workload while enhancing safety, handling, and performance. A fly-by-wire control system provides total envelope protection, preventing the pilot from making control commands that exceed the jet’s operational limits.

SPARFELL & PARTNERS / How difficult or different is this kind of market?
SPARFELL & PARTNERS / How does the design change when it is for a Head of State?
A: Indeed, very few of individual and companies in the world can acquire and operate such a bird! Therefore, we need to have a very sensitive and confidential approach. Creativity is then essential to select potential clients and in the way to contact them. The fact that S&P is involved in both airliners and business jet, give us the possibility to come the customer with a global solution (definition and operation).
A: The Head of State require a more practical interior design. Generally, you need more seats for the entourage, a very large conference room, and a totally secure private section. The comfort notion is not as essential as for a private individual. The communication centre is as well much more important than in the VVIP configuration.

A
n Indian Ocean charter is not about navigating a shoreline. It is about cutting yourself off from the rest of the world, with remote island escapes, virgin palm forests, secluded coves and pearlescent coral atolls. The tiny tropical landscapes of the Seychelles and the Maldives feel almost overwhelmed by vast oceanic waters – and yet their blissful seclusion comes alongside unimpeachable opulence and some of the world’s rarest and most magnificent marine life. For the ambitious charter yachtsman, this is escapism in its purest and most rewarding form.
MYSTERIOUS TROPICAL LANDS IN THE INDIAN OCEAN
As an alternative charter option to the Caribbean during the winter European season (from November to April), the Indian Ocean holds exotic lands full of bright colours and showcase an outstanding creole cuisine. There are very few places in the world where you can experience such a variety of landscapes and warm climates as you can than in the islands of the Maldives or Seychelles! If you have ever dreamt about diving in a blue lagoon with powdery white beaches, then the Maldives are the best charter destination to explore; luxury resorts, exceptional service, and an exotic 5-star journey acclaimed worldwide. Considered as a true Garden of Eden, the Seychelles are home to their own ecological system: the archipelago of 115 islands is one of the finest wildlife destinations that you must experience once in a lifetime.
5 REASONS TO CHOOSE INDIAN OCEAN
PRIVATE ISLAND RESORTS PERFECT BEACHES CORAL REEFS LUXURY TOURISM BIG GAME FISHING SEYCHELLES | PARADISE REDISCOVERED A thousand miles off the African coast, in the western reaches of the Indian Ocean, the 115 equatorial islands that make up the Seychelles are the epitome of a tropical island paradise. The natural arrangement of granite islands and curved coral reefs; of white sandy bays and sheltered salt lagoons, makes the Seychelles an ideal venue for watersports – not least surfing, diving, fishing and kayaking. However, they are vast in area, extending more than 600 nautical miles from their capital on the island of Mahe, so the chief yacht charter region tends to revolve around the three primary islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. Whichever part you choose, your Seychelles yacht charter experience will include steep, forested mountains, spectacular golden beaches and clear turquoise waters teeming with marine life. MALDIVES | TROPICAL OCEAN ADVENTURES Nowhere is more keenly tied to the sea than the Maldives. With 1,200 islands over 35,000 square miles of Indian Ocean, this tropical nation is more than 99% water. The remaining 1% comprises a multiple scattering of charterfriendly coral atolls, colonised with the utmost ingenuity by 3,000 years of settlers. Each coral landmass comes with a saltwater lagoon hemmed in by a circular reef and inhabited by the world’s most spectacular marine life. From huge pods of dolphins to whale sharks, sperm whales, manta rays and hammerheads, a wildlife tour here is not about searching; it’s merely about opening your eyes. As a Muslim nation, no alcohol is permitted beyond the tourist resorts, but its intimate relationship with the ocean makes the Maldives a tropical yacht charter like no other.
