Day 1. Depart UK, Arrive Budapest. Fly from the UK to Budapest. On arrival, be met and transferred to your contemporary river ship. Enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Reception this evening.

Day 2. Budapest.

Learn the vibrant history of Budapest as your local guide takes you to a host of impressive sights, such as the Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square and Buda Castle. Back on board this evening, enjoy a delightful Gala Dinner while you cruise.

Day 3. Vienna.

Embrace the splendour and elegance of Vienna. Join a walking tour that takes you past St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg

Palace and the Albertina. Afterwards, you may wish to visit the famous Naschmarkt, browsing the range of stalls and sampling local delicacies.

Day 4. Vienna.

Enjoy a day at leisure, perhaps visit the Hofburg area, or you may like to head to a cosy coffee house where you can try a traditional Sachertorte. Alternatively, you could visit the grand Schonbrunn Palace or take an excursion to the delightful Slovakian capital of Bratislava (all own expense).

Day 5. Dürnstein, Melk.

Cruise to Dürnstein, where a walk through the streets leads to 16th-century town houses and taverns. The town is overlooked by the hilltop ruins of the castle where King

Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned in 1192. Afterwards, dock in Melk and join a local guide for a tour through Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery.

Day 6. Passau.

Discover the city of Passau at your leisure. Alternatively, you have the opportunity to embark on a Salzburg tour including sights from ‘The Sound of Music’ or visit the Czech town of Český Krumlov, home to more than 300 historical buildings (own expense). Enjoy a Bavarian evening on board your ship with local beer, snacks and traditional German entertainment.

Day 7. Regensburg.

Wander along Regensburg’s cobblestone lanes, taking a journey through the ages as you explore the historic streets, medieval buildings and cultural sites on your guided walking tour.

Day 8. Nuremberg.

Arrive in Nuremberg, the site of Hitler’s infamous rallies during World War II. Take a city tour this afternoon, which includes sights such as the Zeppelin Field and Palace of

Justice. Afterwards, transfer to your hotel in Nuremberg for the night.

Day 9. Depart Munich, Arrive UK. After breakfast on board, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
