TheoldbuildingofmandaiisaGothic-style structurebuiltin1886.Thematerialusedforthe constructioniswood.Assuch,theproposednew mandaibuildingshouldmergewiththeoldmandai structureandnotstandoutasacontrasting structure.Thenewlyproposedmandaibuildingisa marketwithsomeopenspacesthatwillactas breakpointsforpeople.Thecentralopenspaceis thegreatestofthethreeopenspaces.Thisopen spacecanhostanartexhibit,streetplays, meetingsofurbansketchersoramusicalprogram.
Thevegetableandfruitmarketisdistributedinto twostructures.Theroofforthemarketareaisa bambootrussandasmallopenspacewithseating providedinthesmallopenspaces.Theseating areaisshadedbyatreecanopy;itcanbeused asabreakpoint.
