2019 was a pivotal year for DBS. We were conferred the “World’s Best Bank” award by Euromoney, making us the first bank ever to concurrently hold three global best bank awards. The DBS Foundation, established in conjunction with SG50 to support social enterprises, turned five. And amid intensifying global challenges, the DBS team universally felt that leadership in the next decade would involve spearheading efforts to build a sustainable future.
In embracing sustainability as a key tenet of what we do, we are guided by the belief that companies like ours have a central role to play in finding solutions to complex global and local issues, whether developmental, social or environmental. This we owe to our future generations. But the effort also has to be collective, and to encompass the broader community, if we are to make meaningful and lasting impact.
