DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
WELCOME TO WONDERLAND
Triple Threats began as a dream to hone the skillset of young performers in a holistic manner, emphasizing the amalgam of singing, dancing, and acting in performance. This dream, which was birthed over a decade ago, has churned out many alums who have gone on to make successful careers for themselves in the performing arts industry, here in Singapore and beyond these shores. It has been an absolute pleasure watching these young thespians begin their musical theatre journey and learn about the intricacies of melding all three aspects of the craft together. What many have discovered is that the act of combining all three art forms requires skill, sensitivity, nuance, focus, and of course, talent.
For this year’s iteration, I wanted to pay homage to some of the fairy tales that we grew up with while building on the underlying theme of what home and family could mean to each of us. I ponder about home a lot in my daily life. I was born in Singapore, but with a childhood partly in Washington DC, seventeen years in California, and now seven in New York, the concept of home can often be hard to define. One thing that I realized from my rumination is that family, biological or otherwise, truly provide a sense of belonging. The person you squabble with the most, could also be the one you love dearest; the one you fiercely fight for, need not be a blood brother.
How we define those perimeters are up to the individual. As I have gotten older, I have begun to realize that the people I take for granted the most, are the ones I ought to cherish. I hope that this story will inspire you to think about those you hold dear, and that when you get home tonight, you will give them a hug and tell them you love them.
I would like to thank the entire production team who have worked tirelessly over this whirlwind two-week period to bring this showcase to fruition, without which none of what you are about to see could be possible. I would also like to thank all of you for supporting Pangdemonium and the performing arts here in Singapore. Live theatre is an experience like no other so let’s continue to embrace it with childlike wonder and unmitigated joy!
Enjoy the show!

(IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER)
Krish Aiyar
I graduated from Singapore American School, and I’m currently awaiting enlistment in the National Service. One of the things I enjoy the most is writing short stories and screenplays. Apart from that, during my free time, I like to work out, play video games, and hang out with my friends. My favorite musical is Fiddler On The Roof.
I decided to try out for Pangdemonium’s Triple Threats workshop because I am interested in pursuing Musical Theatre as a potential job, and if I want to be a professional actor, I need to improve my skills across the board to have a chance at making my way in such a competitive environment.
Teagan Chan
I‘m a Year One theatre student in SOTA. My favourite musicals are Heathers and Mean Girls as they are both set in high school which I feel are very relatable. My hobbies include rock climbing, singing, acting, reading and writing songs!
I consider myself a very outgoing person and I applied for the workshop in hopes that I would meet people my age who have a deep passion for musical theatre like me. I also joined this workshop so I could work on my dancing as I don’t have a lot of experience in that field. I hope that I will be involved in the theatre industry in the future. Watch out world!!!
Aashi Bhagwat
I’m 15 years old and currently studying western classical voice at SOTA! My favourite musical HAS to be West Side Story! The fusion of cultures with the epic tale of the star-crossed lovers? Pure magic.
I thrive on storytelling through performance, hoping to inspire countless others. Seeing Asian representation on stage drives my passion even further, inspiring me to dream big!
I’m beyond excited to jump into the Triple Threats workshop to finetune my performing arts skills all at once. With such a supportive environment and amazing peers, I can’t wait to make my mark on stage!
Sophie Chew
I am currently a Year One SOTA student, specializing in Theatre. In my free time, I love to listen to music and watch movies.
Currently, my favorite musical is Legally Blonde. I started performing musical theatre at the tender age of 3. The first ever musical I watched was School of Rock on the West End. When I first listened to the music, my perspective of the world changed. It was an electrifying moment for me.
When I learnt about the Triple Threats workshop last year, I really looked forward to auditioning for it, and I got in! I am truly grateful for this learning experience and opportunity to perform in the Triple Threats workshop.
Sophia ElahiAfter graduating from CMASAS High School at 16, I am taking two gap years before college. I intend to explore my love of singing, dancing, and acting. My hobbies are writing and skateboarding! My favorite musical is Phantom of the Opera as it was my first experience of Broadway.
I have been eager to join Pangdemonium’s Triple Threats workshop, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it this year! The workshop is incredibly intensive, yet enjoyable. I get to build my skills as a performer and make connections with other theatre “geeks” my age.
This has been such an amazing experience, and I’m so grateful to be part of a supportive team!
Arielle Meredith Ka Ching, Leung
I’m 16 this year and am currently studying music at SOTA. I’ve been singing since I was a child and have always had a passion for musical theatre. My interests include photography, embroidery, crochet, and playing the accordion. My favourite musical as of late is Ride The Cyclone!
I wanted to join the Triple Threats workshop to not only further polish my skills and to gain experience in other facets of musical theatre such as acting and dance, but also to engage with other like-minded individuals honing the same passion for the craft to masterfully convey stories written by the people, for the people. I am incredibly honoured to have been given this opportunity to work with my fellow cast members and to invest in my artistic growth. Thank you all for this impactful experience!
Loic Lastennet
I am currently in my third year at SOTA, specialising in music, specifically voice. One of my favourite musicals is La La Land, because it contains some of the very first songs I ever performed when I got into musical theatre.
I joined the Triple Threats workshop to gain more experience in performing musical theatre and to improve on my skills, such as dancing. I also wanted to make new friends who share the same interests and passions as me and make memories with them through this experience.
Mikaela Mariano
I’m currently a student at Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School and some of the subjects I study are pure literature and O-level music. My favourite musicals are Hadestown, Wicked and Hamilton, and some of my hobbies are writing, playing instruments and crocheting.
I’ve always loved performing as a child and ever since I became interested in musical theatre I’ve been looking for ways to be able to try it out and see whether or not I wanted to pursue it in the future. I also wanted to build my confidence in performing and learn more about singing, dancing and acting as well as get to know more people who were also passionate about musical theatre.
Ng Yu Xin
I am an alumna of Eunoia Junior College and will be starting school at NUS very soon. Beyond theatre, music and dance, I enjoy writing, and playing Dungeons & Dragons. My current favourite musical is Hamilton because of its lyricism, but Hadestown comes in a close second for its beautiful storytelling!
I have always been enthralled by the magic of musical theatre because telling a story, in all its forms, is something I hold close to my heart. I joined the Triple Threats workshop to nurture this passion, and push myself to grow even more as a performer and person.
Aria Zhang
I’m currently a student at UWCSEA Dover, 15 years old, turning 16. I absolutely love everything about performing!!
This is my second year joining the Triple Threats workshop (it was so much fun, I just had to do it again). Getting to meet and become close friends with such amazing people, is one of my favourite things, while also getting to perform with them, literally a dream come true!! There’s no word that can describe it, it’s just so so thrilling! I always seek opportunities to be able to create awesome things with incredibly fun people, and I absolutely love it.
Julian Adriano A. Salvador
Hi! I’m currently a Secondary Two Student studying at St. Gabriel’s Secondary School. I LOVE LOVE LOVE musical theatre! My musical theatre awakening and all time favourite musical is Heathers. Through an animatic on YouTube, it sparked interest in the art form. Opening the door to the vast world of musical theatre, unlocking that passion deep inside me.
Though I have been in multiple plays before, I never really had the opportunity to be in musical theatre. So when I heard that Pangdemonium was hosting their Triple Threats workshop, I jumped at the opportunity to audition immediately. This workshop has really helped me hone my craft as a performer, especially at improving my singing and dance skills. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be able to participate in this amazing musical theatre experience!
