The very popular Lavender and Lemons Kitchen Tour returns to Bloomington-Normal on June 18 from 10am to 4pm. This year’s tour features beautiful kitchens in a variety of styles, sizes, and budgets in the Hawthorne Hills, Uptown Normal, Charterwood, and Stonebridge neighborhoods.
Tour goers will visit six indoor kitchens and an outdoor kitchen — all chosen for their unique features and creative design. Some of the highlights of the tour include high-end chef-inspired appliances, artful use of antiques, a magnifi cent cobalt blue cast iron range, a fantastic view of Uptown Circle, beautiful art work, a sophisticated “farm house look”, and a fabulous outdoor kitchen perfect for cooking family meals at all times of day.
Whether you want to be inspired to make changes to your own kitchen or just want to see what others have done, you will fi nd lots to enjoy on this year’s tour. Designers, knowledgeable guild volunteers, or homeowners will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.
Sponsored and organized by the Illinois Symphony Orchestra Guild of Bloomington-Normal, proceeds of the tour benefi t the Illinois Symphony Orchestra’s programs for children. This year, Illinois Symphony Orchestra musicians visited area schools in May to perform music from around the world and school classes attended a concert especially for children at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets for the tour are on sale at The Garlic Press and The Olive Bin in Normal and in Bloomington at Caseys’ Garden Shop & Florist, Growing Grounds, Wendell Niepagen Greenhouse, AB Hatchery, and the Hy-Vee customer service desk. Cost $20.00.
