Two park benches were recently dedicated in Bloomington as a unique way to honor a loved one and celebrate wellness. In May, The Central Illinois Chapter of The Links, Incorporated partnered with the City of Bloomington to install a bench at White Oak Park that encourages relaxation of mind, body and soul. The bench faces the lake and is adjacent to the walking path.
Friends of Barb Adkins and the City of Bloomington partnered to dedicate a bench directly in front of Home Sweet Home Mission, 303 Oakland Ave., in June. Barb was retired Bloomington deputy city manager and a community leader who was loved by many and respected by all.
