Joseph Case High School “Cardinals” Marching Band 2023-2024 Biography

The Joseph Case High School “Cardinals” Marching Band has received many accolades over the years. They compete extensively throughout New England and are well known and respected for their discipline, movement, musicality and showmanship. The Joseph Case Band has entertained many large audiences in numerous venues over the years and is widely received throughout the community The Joseph Case Band certainly is a source of “Swansea Pride” in our home town and surrounding region.

The “Cardinals “have won numerous accolades over the last twenty years: Our highest honor to date is winning our 12 foot trophy at Nationals at the MetLife stadium in New Jersey. We have received all caption awards in division 1 for Best Music, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, Best Visual and Best Overall Effect. We also received the Cadet award for Excellence, this award is only awarded to one band in the division. In 2015 we won (For the first time) an 11 foot trophy at nationals at the Navy - Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis Maryland.

We were also awarded 1st place at the 2022 New England Championships in Medford Massachusetts Also winning caption awards for Best Music, Best Color Guard and Best Drum Major

Including: Massachusetts State Champions, New England Champions, and United States Scholastic National Champions. We have won nationally, regionally and prominent championships throughout New England in marching band organizations

USBands –an organization based out of Allentown PA

Joseph Case is known for our Award Winning Color Guard, Horn Line and Percussion. We have Dynamic Drum Majors, Captains and Section Leaders. We have won Best Drum Major, Best Color Guard, Best Percussion and Music awards numerous times all over the region.

This year ’s leaders consist of Drum Majors: Aiden Costa and student conductor Lucas Pereira. Our most widely known salutes are crowd pleasing and draw attention, cheers and standing ovations for their riveting display of power, visual appeal and precise arm and foot movement.

The Band is under the direction of Richard T Cordeiro. His devoted staff consists of Pamela Ried, Shawn Lewis, Sarah Mendes, Hayleigh Kelley, Evan Ferry, Madison Pierce and Lenny Machado.

Our support group consists of very dedicated and supportive music parents known as C.H.A.M.P.S. The president of the CHAMPS is Natalie Salvador, Vice President Jennifer Smith, Treasurer Kayden Pintarelli, Secretary Ryan Lewis, Public Relations Shawn Lewis and Ways and Means Barry Godwin.
