The fuel tank arrangement of the S.79 military version.

Top: Oxygen supply was regulated from a panel high up on the starboard side of the fuselage, immediately aft of the pilots' seats. Right: The flight engineer's position, with an excellent view of the notorious "organ pipes" for controlling the fuel circuit. This complicated and illogical arrangement was a constant source of trouble and an underlying cause of several accidents during the introduction to service of the first production S.79s. Below: The fuselage interior above the flight engineer's position on the S.79 Corsa. On the bomber version the gobba, the hunch, incorporating the machine gunner's position would have been here. The partition wall visible in the photo separated the crew compartment from the fuselage fuel tanks.
