Argumentative Essay Quotes
Cabute, Jeanette Anne H. BSIE–HE 4A
Quotation:
1."Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." –Maria Robinson
Explanation: Our lives are full of ups and downs. Often we get so caught up with the downs in our lives that we fall into depression. We feel that everything in life is falling apart. You regret the choices you've made in the past and feel that you have failed in life. Understand that you cannot go back in time and undo choices you've made but that you can stop yourself from repeating the past by making smarter decisions so that you can have a better future.
Reaction: Yes, our life is full of up and downs. We also cannot change the past, but we can make better things or choices...show more content... If we try new things we're going to make a few mistakes but we are learning from that mistake. If you don't make any mistakes, you're in a rut and not trying anything new. Mistakes are part of our lives, we cannot change it, and we just have to take the risk. Nothing is impossible if we try new things and nothing will lose if you try right.
4."The heart has its reasons which reason knows not." –Blaise Pascal
Explanation: The heart, the organ capable of storing love can also reason. Its reasoning makes all the sense in the world to the heart and to the heart's owner when the owner first hears it. It's the reasoning that makes you fall in love at first sight. It's the reasoning that somehow makes it so hard to let somebody go even though you have no logical reason to want that person to stay.
Reaction: The quote means that you have to listen to your heart. Just like in love, you just only knew that you love that person but you don't know why. We fall in love in a mutual weirdness and called it love.
5."When love is not madness it is not love." –Pedro CalderГіn de la Barca
Explanation: The actual quote is when love is not madness, it is not love, and it is by Pedro Calderon. Love in its self is madness. Love brings to life so many different emotions that it is like a chaos in your

As a student in a beginning English class some elements may seem difficult at the beginning but with practice they become long lasting skills. Writing an argumentative is not an easy task there is a lot of elements that have to come together to create a successful essay but as many other things, it requires constant practice and effort. At the start of this course I wasn't a very good writer myself, and I can see the huge improvement this course made by looking at my first argumentative essay. I was able to identify and apply the requisites of a good argument essay. A well thought structure, reliable evidence, and a counterargument are three essential components of argumentative writing. The structure of an essay is the foundation to a good argumentative paper. Throughout this course I learned the importance of having an essay structure, before I started this class I didn't have a very clear vision of how to correctly format my essay. In my diagnostic essay, which was the first one I wrote for English 1302, had five paragraphs. That is considered a standard structure of many essays but it is more of a skeleton. Looking back at that essay I see how poor my introduction was, I did not even have a clear thesis. One only thing even close to one that I could spot was, "The "millennials," people born in the last two decades of the 20th century, are failing to reflect Rich's model for a good education." It merely addresses the topic in a simple way. It did not serve the purpose a

Persuasive Essay On Electric Cars
Climate change and transportation play a big role and it is important to be concerned for our future generations. The use of gasoline cars is a major producer in carbon dioxide emissions, although they are not entirely responsible for it–they play a role in it. Other form of transportations like buses and taxis also contribute to carbon dioxide emissions. The total amount of carbon dioxide emissions from an average car is seventy six percent which comes from usage of a vehicle containing gasoline. Efficiency has increased by twenty percent in regards to electric motors, especially when it comes to their wheels using no power when the car is at rest. Car ownership will increase and with this, improvements in technology could be a vital...show more content...
Through my research question, I hope to learn whether electric vehicles make a big enough difference to help our environment. I also want to explore why we have not gone entirely electric and specific reasons as to why people are afraid of change. People find switching to an electric vehicle to be a huge lifestyle change. Some people have also adopted the hybrid car trend, although many people think hybrid cars help the environment as well. Hybrid cars still uses some form of a gasoline when it is being used, thus creating carbon dioxide emissions. Whereas, the electric vehicle produces no emissions. People have numerous reasons as to why they do not want to make the lifestyle change of switching from vehicles that use gasoline to electric vehicles. In Graham–Rowe's article, people are often concerned with their car battery running out while they are driving. People often cannot easily adapt to huge changes. Owning an electric car vehicle is much different compared to owning an internal–combustion engine car. So how can we make this change positive and easier to jump into? Electric vehicles are typically more expensive than cars with internal combustion engines (144–147). This leads me to another question, is there a way to make electric vehicles more affordable? How can car industries minimize costs? If electric cars are more affordable, maybe more people will be Get more content
Bullying
Bullying happens everywhere, whether it is at work, school, or home, This is Where It Ends, evidence in the schools, and adult psychiatric health problems later on in life, are some supporting evidence to show that this is an ongoing problem. According to stopbullying.gov bullying is described as "An Imbalance of Power: Kids who bully use their power–such as physical strength, access to embarrassing information, or popularity–to control or harm others. Power imbalances can change over time and in different situations, even if they involve the same people." Bullying helps someone have dominance over another, it can boost their confidence, and self–esteem. Although bullying has been around for as long as anyone can remember, it is just recently in the 2000s that is has received serious attention and research (Hymel). There have been many recent events that have focused on this subject.
"13 Reasons Why", this is a very popular title that most teens, adults, and parents may know. This year, Netflix came out with the original series to show what bullying can do. In the year of 2011 a 15 year–old girl named Amanda Todd, posted her story on Youtube (Dean). Amanda was seriously bullied for something that she had done in her middle school past, and was now in high school. One day after school, Amanda was found lying in a ditch by her father, right before she had been beaten up by a group of girl from her school. After, Amanda went home and drank bleach, it did not kill her, a few months later, she tried to overdose on pill, that also did not kill her. After, she posted her story on YouTube, people were saying "you should try killing yourself again", or "you deserve to die", "try drinking a different bleach next time". A month later she attempted suicide. Not only was Amanda the victim of physical and social bullying, but she was also the victim of cyberbullying (Dean). Cyberbullying is social network bullying, it can happen over Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat etc. This is now becoming more, and more popular as the world enters into a more technology based times. Do TV Shows Like 16 and Pregnant Promote or Discourage Teenage Pregnancy?
Teenage pregnancy has become a major issue in today's society for our adolescents. This is a major problem for all who are involved. It creates hurt and a struggle for on the parents, especially for the mother (Gonchar and Schulten). Also for the parent(s) of the teenager this creates struggles for them because more often than not, they end up with the load of caring and looking after the child while the teenage parents are at school or out doing other things that teenagers do. Raising a child as a teenager is not easy. Teen parents are more likely to struggle to deal with parenthood, and the child...show more content...
The television show 16 and Pregnant was initially created to try to symbolize the hardship of being a teenage parent (Taylor). The stories of these young girls are often times very similar being that they have a miserable nine months of pregnancy just to give birth as a single mother, no longer with the father of their child. This show displays the sorrow and struggle that the mother has in just the first few weeks into being a new mother. On the other hand, some view that these types of shows somewhat "glorify" the reality of having a baby as a teenager. Both Teen Moms and 16 and Pregnant offer the young teenage girls that they document great deals of money in order to record their pregnancy, birth giving, and first couple of weeks of motherhood. This in itself, to some teenagers, shows that it isn't all that bad. Many teen moms believe that they could possibly become one of the documented females if they end up in the situation of being a teen parent and could earn money off of it and a little fifteen minutes of fame (Henson). Also, they think that they could be featured in Teen Moms, the spinoff of 16 and Pregnant. This would just introduce even more money to the teen. The show is not intentionally trying to promote teenage pregnancy. This is just the viewpoint that some uneducated teenagers take from watching it. This is definitely not the realistic and commonsensical way of viewing teenage pregnancy. In Get more

"Standard immunization currently averts an estimated two to three million deaths every year in all age groups" ("General Information"). Children along with adults should be vaccinated because these Inoculations prevent diseases, even deaths, from going around, along with keeping the environment a safer place. As people know, kids get vaccinated from the time born to about the time the child reaches teen years, although getting immunized does not precisely stop at any age. In fact, required vaccinations continue throughout the years. Of course these medical treatments must be tested in order to be given to anyone. In spite of the fact many people themselves argue that inoculations are not safe for children, others are thoroughly certain in...show more content...
"Proponents argue that vaccination is safe and one of the greatest health developments of the 20th century. They point out that illnesses, including rubella, diphtheria, and whooping cough, which once killed thousands of infants annually are now prevented by vaccination" ("Vaccines"). Many deaths occur simply because children, along with adults, do not get the required shots needed. Medical treatments are not given to do a person any harm, but to keep a person and environment safe. Kids being vaccinated will give them less of a possibility to obtain a disease that could lead to death. Benefits outweigh any possibility of risking accumulating a disease. When people say that vaccinations are harmful, does not necessarily mean to develop a deadly disease, simply means some small risks. "Vaccines are not entirely harmless, but the small risks are outweighed by the benefits of a disease prevention" (Offit). Indeed flu shots must be tested in order to be able to give anyone the shot. Receiving vaccinations is only meant to help people prevent many illnesses and deaths. Although some small risks could be accumulated, those small risks are very small possibilities of anything happening to anyone. Getting immunized is not a one–time thing; people must follow up on required dates to receive them. To maintain a longer life span the body must be taken care of and well oriented in facts about

Running head: RESEARCH ESSAY
In today's society, there are many different diets that people can follow. One of those diets is called veganism. People who follow this diet refuse to consume meat or other animal products, including eggs and dairy. Veganism is becoming more and more popular for a number of reasons. Some people go vegan because they do not want to be responsible for cruelty against animals. Others choose the vegan diet for their health or to help protect the environment. No matter what the reason, the truth is clear: the vegan diet is simply the best choice. It is better for animals, better for us, and better for the Earth.
Farm animals' lives are degrading, painful, and they endure a lot of abuse. The majority of our meat...show more content... In addition to their clean consciences, vegans can boast of healthy bodies. A meat–heavy diet can be disastrous for one's health. The World Health Organization, for instance, has linked red and processed meats to colorectal cancer (O'Connor, October 2015). Plant–based diets, on the other hand, benefit our bodies in many ways. The advantages of avoiding meat are summarized in a recent article from The Duke Health Medicine News: "Vegetarian dietary patterns are associated with lower body mass, lower prevalence and incidence of diabetes mellitus, lower prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components (abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure and fasting blood sugar, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol levels), lower hypertension, lower all–cause mortality, and in some cases, lower risk of cancer" ("Vegetarian Diets", 2015, p. 4). A vegan diet offers all of the above benefits, as well as several that aren't associated withvegetarianism: "Compared to lacto–ovo–vegetarian diets, vegan diets seem to provide some added protection against obesity, hypertension, type–2 diabetes; and cardiovascular mortality" (Le & SabatГ©, 2014, p. 2142). Despite these facts, many people remain skeptical. That vegans can obtain all the nutrients their bodies need, such as protein. This skepticism is unfounded: legumes, tofu, and other staples of the vegan diet provide plenty of protein. For example, according to the Get more content

Some students prefer to write in there own style of writing, while others believe that following a template is not only beneficial but also constructive. Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein say "Academic writing calls upon writers not to simply express their own ideas, but to do so as a response to what others have said." Templates give weak writers, a chance, to improve on theirwriting in an organized fashion, while others believe that such templates may hinder there creativity and retract from the originality of the writer. Many other templates exist other than the ones taught in schools. Surprisingly, Many people today are still saying college is important. This unfortunately is the old way which now barely helps you today. Most of the time the degree can do more damage to you than help you. This article will show you three reasons why college may not be the best choice for now.
Most jobs don't need the "high level of learning" that colleges offer. Fun fact! You don't need to study at an overpriced school for four years just to learn coding or IT while most people can hop on a website and learn pretty much the same stuff you learned (Patel 2017). Now, most jobs that are being made are in the tech community which is a community that makes it really easy to make a website or a YouTube video teaching it. This allows for the people who don't have a lot of money to learn skills that can help them later on. This way the economy is growing can open the doors for many poor people to have a chance.

The average tuition for a public college is $25,290 and $50,900 for a private one, but you probably don't have that money sitting around, so you probably have to get a loan. A loan for which you can never pay back. According to Adam from Adam Ruins everything Sallie Mae, which is a student loan company, takes loans from a bank to give to students and their charges are so low they don't even cover the interest (Adam Ruins Everything 2017). That being said basically student loans are designed to make you pay for the rest of your life so the greedy corporations can make a quick buck off of people who want to survive in today's economy. You could say it is worth it to get a higher paying job, which I agree with to a certain extent, but today's economy is changing to fit more people willing to devote time and effort to their job not people with a four–year degree. College is just too expensive for

To whom this may concern, Good Afternoon, the reason for this letter is to appeal the decision of me being denied unemployment benefits. The reasons stated for my termination were incorrect and false. The decision made by Unemployment Insurance was based off incorrect information. I worked as the Security Supervisor for Colonial Security Services. We were contracted to work for a private school called Pingry School. My hours were overnight from Sunday 11pm–8am. Overnight there wasn't anyone in the building that allowed us to not wear our full uniform until it was time to be posted at the front desk at 6am. At 0745 that morning, I did take my cell phone out of my pocket while at the front desk. There weren't any visitors present; it was 15 minutes until the end of my shift. I do have a daughter and checked if I had any messages regarding her. The time it took to check was 10 seconds (if that). All actions done as to my supervisor duties were done via my personal cell phone. Never was there a policy or conversation told to me about being on my cell phone. Not with Colonial Security or Pingry School. Pingry employees working outside, inside, office, and front desk, all walked around talking, texting, using their personal cell phones. Employees of Colonial Security all contacted me via my personal cell phone during my working hours. On the morning of July 5th, Mike Virzi (main boss with Pingry) walked up to the front desk talking loudly on his personal phone. At that time, I was taking my phone out of my pocket to check messages. He asked if I was playing games, I replied "No". He then asked what I was doing. I answered checking something. He stated to put your phone away. I paused for a second and looked at him, while putting my phone away, I did ask him why? It was never an issue of me using my phone for the past 7 months working there. Mike Virzi was in a bad mood and had a very disgusting attitude. He decided to project his personal problems unto me. I was then asked to leave for the remainder of my shift, Get more content
