Therapy
Today many people seek professional therapy or counseling for a limited amount of time in order to deal with different life crises. Others seek professional help for the majority of their lives in order to deal with a psychological disorder. After reading this chapter on Therapy, I learned that this was not always the case, and that the way our society views therapy, and the meaning of therapy, has changed dramatically of the years. This chapter not only explains the evolution of therapy, it explores the different therapeutic approaches. I found chapter thirteen to be very interesting. Learning about the different types of therapy was very helpful. I chose to write about...show more content...
Trephining was the most disturbing picture. I am still amazed that people thought that anything whatsoever could be solved by chiseling away at a person's head. The picture of the skull was extremely disturbing: I cannot even fathom how horrible it would have been to be a patient of such practices. Also one would think that after the first gaping hole in a person's head with no results, the chiseling would stop. However it is obvious by the number of holes in the skull that this was a procedure that was tried multiple times on one patient. Other than the trephined skull, I also found it unusual that bloodletting was such a common practice. It was particularly troubling to learn that it was used for treating mania, which is something I have experienced.
All of the information on the different types of therapies has helped me to more fully understand psychology. This chapter is dedicated to explaining the current methods of treating people with psychological disorders in order to help them through a rough time in life. This chapter on therapy shows the side of psychology that is the result of the hard work of a multitude of psychologists and doctors. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, which entitles me to long hours of therapy to help me understand and deal with my illness. Although I

With eyes closed I stand alone, in the dark I smell the sweet scent of fresh–cut grass and feel the soft dirt under my feet. I feel the sunshine on my skin, though I cannot see it. I stand in this blissful moment until I hear a call. Desperation and panic fill the air as I blindly run towards the unknown voice. "HELP ME!" it shouts. I stumble over a log; I can feel the blood trickle down my leg. "HELP ME" another voice shouts. Gradually more and more voices call out for help tugging at my heart. I try to bury myself in my hands and collapse into the soft earth. I jump back in surprise as a cold hand gently traces my face. Tears spill out of my eyes allowing them to open; I look up and see a woman. She wears all black and has a veil over her

How do you think you can benefit the server by being helper: I want to enforce the rules, help new players and be an active presence in game, I could do the majority of this without being a staff member but having that tag and being recognized by this will make it far more easier to do so. I will be the best staff member I can be on this server and if I do not do something correctly or make a minor mistake, I will fix it and make sure it never happens again.
If I get chosen to be on the staff team I will dedicate the majority of my free time to being on the server and assisting other members. I will try my hardest to check ban reports, find hackers in game and respond to any question given to me or any unanswered threads on the forums....show more content...

I never attend to break any rules on Minecraft because I find that very immature in a game. I've always followed the rules weather I hate the server or not. I am always reading the rules and checking over it to see if a certain subject that I am going to do is allowed. My first thing I do when I join a server is to always do /rules.
Now, we all make mistakes and we've learned from them, I have been warned for caps and I've learned from that. I've been falsely muted and the player that did that also made a mistake, but we learn from them. I'm enjoyed by the fact that a Staff Member works with all types of people of all sorts of age. I think I'm that type of person, I love to help people and explaining everything they need. I'd like to explain how they could do certain things on Factions and the basics of this server. I think it's important that a staff member can do that, but still in a professional and polite way. As a staff member, I tried to help everyone on there with everything they need.
I'm applying because I want to make an addition to the community. I want to help to make a great server and a great community. "What is a great community in your eyes?" would you ask. Well, that's fairly simple to answer. In my eyes,
We always talked about helping others. I noticed that you love helping people, it gives you joy to help others, and I think that's something we both share. I understand now, when you cannot help me, you don't feel the joy. In a way you feel like you can't help me and it may feel like a rejection. I am not rejecting you when you offer help and I say no. There are times where I should have asked for help and I didn't, because I thought you couldn't, which isn't an excuse, I should have given you a chance. I didn't ask for help because I was embarrassed and thought you would think less of me. I have problems with helping others and my professor actually pulled me aside from the final and wanted me to write why I felt like I need to be a savoir, and help others so much. I talked to her after class as a therapist and not a professor. I realized that what I thought was helping, was actually not. I thought all help was good and it's not. When I go out my way and help others who been helped their whole lives, I'm just feeding into what they want. I'm not letting them learn on their own, and will continue to help, and its actually not helping at all. I am guilty of doing that to you sometimes. I'm always trying to help and it's not real help and we get stuck in the same cycle. We went back and forth on this relationship, at one point you didn't want it, and I did, another point you wanted it and I didn't. There were points where we both wanted it and It was wonderful. I had learned

It is very sad to see a friend or relative suffering or in need, especially when they pretend that everything is all right. It is a delicate situation when approaching someone in this predicament, as often a person's pride stands in the way of reaching out for comfort. How to offer your help to an independent friend or relative in this position requires a bit of clever manipulation and a not–so– obvious plan in order to help.
If the problem at hand is a financial matter, the first response would be to offer them a loan. On the other hand, most people would be embarrassed to admit to this, and will perhaps be offended at the offer. However, instead of outright offering them money, trading a service in return for payment would not seem as...show more content... Friends or relatives who have children may experience times when they cannot afford to give them the luxuries of toys, games or name brand clothing. At the same time, while most children do not understand hard times, these friends or relatives hurt inside because of this. It would probably be insulting to them if you bought a bag of toys, a new wardrobe for the kids or a slew of games and delivered these items in order to help. Overall, there is a way to present such items in a fashion that will not seem like charity. While honesty is the best policy, lending a helping hand when we are in a position to do so often takes precedence. Telling our life long friend or family member that our children received clothing as a gift, but it did not fit, or perhaps received a duplicate toy or game and offering it to their children is a way to help in times of despair.
Many times when family or friends decide to meet or get together to go out for dinner, drinks, or even to a movie, we take for granite the expense of these excursions and expect that everyone can participate. On the contrary, when a friend or relative bows out, the reason why they decline becomes obvious. Here again, little white lies come in to play, and compassion takes over. Mentioning to this friend or relative that you Get more content
Trudging through an endless landscape of impossibly thick mud and making as little progress as a boulder could once be compared to the painstaking task called research. However, as technology has advanced, humanity has innovated endless global networks of connections to bring the world to the fingertips of society. One of these is the infinite tool known as Google. While some of today 's society is somewhat skeptical of the overwhelming expansion of the Internet, companies such as Google have not only provided efficiency, but have guaranteed a future of advancement and vast knowledge throughout the global community. As minds of mankind have fashioned pioneering technology throughout history, they have always been met with some criticism; however, countless numbers of them have succeeded in the face of doubt. Nicholas Carr wrote an article about the effects of Google, and relates to these historical events. "[After] The arrival of Gutenberg 's printing press...Italian Humanist Hieronimo Squarciafico worried that the easy availability of books would lead to intellectual laziness, making men 'less studious' and weakening their minds". Although those around Gutenberg were skeptical of the effects his innovation may cause on society, books actually brought forth a new age of intelligence and more access to learning. The use of the Internet spreads like a common cold, and many fear its massive existence. However, Carr realizes that Google may turn out to be beneficial to us all.

"Ever morning, until you die in the ground, you gone have to make a decision. You gone have to ask yourself, am I gone believe what them fools say about me today?" (Stockett 73). This quote is from Constantine, who was an influential person to Skeeter in the novel The Help. She is illustrating how hard it can be to live in an area where diversity makes you an outcast. Throughout this book the hardships of being alienated are obvious and daunting; this can be seen through the loss of loved ones, white privilege, and personal relationships. Loss of a loved one is one of the many themes that was portrayed in the book The Help. One of the many losses that is brought up numerous times, is when Skeeter loses her childhood maid Constantine. Throughout the book Skeeter was determined to find out the truth about Constantine's disappearance. By the end of the book she finds out Constantine was forced out by Skeeter's mother. Skeeter also loses her first love. When Stuart finally gets down on one knee Skeeter feels the pressure to tell him about the book she has written. As I would suspect Stuart's response was "I don't... think I can marry somebody I don't know" (Stockett 449), ending their relationship in its entirety. Celia also experienced several losses throughout the book. With Minny as a witness, Celia lost several of her babies through miscarriage. She became depressed and felt completely broken; she even tried to drink molasses as a remedy to prevent miscarriages. In the beginning she refused to tell her husband, but by the end she chooses to share the bad news. Lastly Aibileen tragically lost her son Treelore along with Mae Mobley witch was one of the babies she was watching. Aibileen's son was only twenty–four years old when he was struck down by a tractor trailer at work. By the time Aibileen found out it was too late. These are all prime examples of how the book portrays the loss of loved ones. Along with the loss of loved ones there was also a constant theme of white privilege. Although the book was written to bring awareness to white privilege there were many cases of racism towards blacks. One of the many examples of white privileges, was when Hilly tried to convince all the white households to get a

Why teamwork is important in schools
Making a school successful takes more than individual effort, it takes teamwork. Individuals need to work together towards shared goals and commitments focusing on meeting the academic and social needs of all pupils in the school.
Whilst it is important to know and succeed in your own role within the school it is also beneficial to have knowledge of others roles within your team and how you all can work effectively together.
It is crucial for the team to have regular meetings to enable the staff to implement new ideas or plans, solve problems, discuss, prioritise and accomplish important tasks, which in all will benefit the pupil's education and school experience.

Charity A Charity is an organisation that exists to enable one group of people to help another. It can sometimes be for animals or nature. Many of the best known charities were set up by people who felt passionate about a situation that they believed was wrong or preventable.
There are 180 thousand charities in the United Kingdom alone. The idea of charities is to do away with the problems they were set up to tackle. They would prefer not to have to exist at all. In the United Kingdom it is easy to create a charity to do what you think is right. You can raise money and get involved in your...show more content...
However, this does not solve all the problems of the world. So some would say, why bother trying? On the other hand another way of thinking about it is – just how bad would the world be without that money helping out? The government donates money to the charities from us, the taxpayer and for many people they like to know where their money is going. Many charities are involved in improving the lives of people around the globe. There are, however always lots of cynical people who knock charities especially if the money is not spent in our country, believing that 'charity begins at home'. Many charities in the United Kingdom do help the local people from homelessness to cancer relief, but recently international aid – helping others in different countries is one of the most hotly debated areas in the voluntary sector.
The aid agencies actions and their attachment or lack of it from governments are all under scrutiny. International aid agencies attract more donations than any other charitable cause bringing in ВЈ486 million in 2001–02. This beats donations for cancer, children and animal charities.
So how do charities use their money? Charities usually need money for three things. Firstly, the largest part of any donation goes to the cause or group for which it was given (usually around 80%) this will pay for the people, food, medicines

Chapter 6 Allocating Resources to the Project This chapter extends the previous one on scheduling into the area of allocating resources among the activities of a project, or among multiple projects competing for the same resources. The chapter begins with a discussion of expediting project completion times and highlights that by selectively choosing which activities to crash and by how much, we can determine the minimum cost for all possible project completion time. The use of Excel's Solver optimization routine to facilitate this analysis is also presented. Next, the chapter moves on to the topic of resource loading and in particular highlights the problems of over scheduling resources. The topics of resource leveling and...show more content...
5.Explain why project–oriented firms require excess resource capacity. In project oriented firms there is much more uncertainty about the timing of resource needs since the resources primarily move between projects rather than moving between projects and a functional department. Therefore, extra resource capacity is needed as a buffer given the greater level of uncertainty present. 6.The arrival and departure times of commercial aircraft are carefully scheduled. Why, then, is it so important to have excess capacity in the airport control tower? Although the arrival and departure times may be carefully scheduled, we all know that actual arrivals and departures often deviate significantly from these schedules. Therefore, a significant amount of uncertainty is present and greatly complicates the ability of the airport control system to handle arrivals and departures. Indeed unplanned events (e.g., weather delays, equipment malfunctions, late flight crews, and so on) often cascade through the system further compounding the problem. Therefore, excess capacity in control towers is needed as a buffer given this level of uncertainty. Clearly, the cost of not having this capacity greatly exceeds the cost of some idle capacity. 7.Explain the difference in the problems faced by a PM who is short of secretarial resources and one who is short of a "Walt." The PM that is short of secretarial resources does not face
