Creative Digital Diploma
Web & UX Design Diploma
Our graduates have moved through four modules, exploring Branding and Identity Design, Information Design, Product Launch and Event Design.
Our graduates have moved through four modules, exploring UX Design practice and theory, Foundation Coding, Application Development and Content Management Systems (CMS).
This diploma, provides students with exposure to design thinking practices and the practice of the principles of visual communication design, while working with Adobe Creative Suite.
Our diploma in Web and UX Design gives our students the practical skills needed to make their mark in this exciting industry.
There is an emphasis on typography, layout and how to capture and manipulate images. Graduates have a well rounded understanding of the conventional design process, and channel that knowledge into the creation of epic work, from digital packaging and posters to magazines, brochures and ads.
They have learnt how to apply the principles of visual design and master the scripting languages that support client-side development. By encouraging creativity and teaching the essentials of web programming and design, this programme sets them on the path to a brilliant career in online media.
Aorangi Amohia-Lykles www.behance.net/HikaiaLijkf1d1 | amohiaLykles1999@outlook.com Strengths: Layout, Book Design, Advertising, Branding An avid writer and graphic novel enthusiast, Aorangi Amohia-Lykles attended Yoobee School of Design to combine his writing skill with visual aspects. Instead, he has found a liking for typographic works, and has since cultivated a taste for layout and hierarchy within his designs. After his experience within Yoobee, he is always looking for opportunity to expand upon his skill-set.

Aaron Baker aaronbaker.co.nz | aaronbakerdesign@gmail.com Strengths: Branding and Identity, In-house Design, Layout Hi I’m Aaron, I’m a Wellington based graphic design student who has been having fun with design for the last few years, including projects for clients and designing personal branding projects. With a background in automotive and motorsport, I love to incorporate function and purpose into my designs and not afraid to get my hands dirty to make it work. Since studying at Yoobee, I have been able to refine my skills and push my ideas. I look forward to moving into the design industry and improving design, one bad circle logo at a time.

I’ve been working on these passions ever since. Currently, I am exploring creativity through music, film, industrial design and more recently pattern making and clothing design.

Hayden Kaffes www.behance.net/hayman13lo1608 Strengths: Illustration, Graphic Design, Album Art Hayden started drawing at a young age but only really got into it at 16 years old. Over that time he developed his signature style and developed it further. This led him to go down the path of graphic design, he always had an interest in packaging, font design and cover art for CDs, DVDs and games.

Lorenz Oprilla www.behance.net/lorenzorpilla | lorenz.orpilla2@gmail.com Strengths: Graphic Design, Editorial Design, Typography Lorenz, specialises in clean and purposeful design. Something that is simple yet purposeful, something that can evoke emotion and deliver information at the same time. The beauty in simplicity and the collaboration of ideas is what he lives for, this is his main inspiration when it comes to design and the design process. Lorenz believes that visual communication is a bridge to a world where design transcends limitations to create a strong connection regardless of our individual differences. Design is much more than colours and shapes, it’s a way of life.

After completing his first year of business school in Auckland, he transitioned his academic journey to graphic design in order to pursue an industry that more accurately fit his own personal character. He enjoys working with a collaborative team to solve problems through design, while passing on his own skills to better the lives of others around him.

Jodi Walker www.houseofhuners.org | j_walker19@hotmail.com Strengths: Graphic Design, Editorial Design, Typography At the core of her artistic values, Jodi follows a storytelling sense of style with honesty. She decided to study at Yoobee to follow her passion for design and to diversify her skills after graduating the Diploma of Costume Construction at Toi Whakaari in 2017. Studying at Yoobee has reinvigorated Jodi’s passion in drawing and visual communication and has built a range of versatile skills that she can use in both graphic and costume design. Jodi looks forward to pursuing her creative career further and to intertwine her skills across different mediums.

Southern Right Whale
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW The Southern Right Whale (or Tohora in Te Reo Māori) is a subspecies of baleen whale and L6 Creative Digital Design migrate to the mainland and sub-antarctic regions of New Zealand during the winter months.

The population of these whales took a huge dive when the settlers arrived since they were deemed ‘the right whale to catch’. They were good for meat, oil and whalebone during these times.
Chikaylah Wellington www.behance.net/swillougg5413 | @chikaylah_art Strengths: Graphic Design, Illustration, Identity Design Before studying design, Chikaylah’s life revolved around the visual arts, particularly illustration and painting. This lends its hand to many of her design works, which place great importance on its illustrative elements. However, more so than an artist she is a storyteller, wishing to explore what makes humans‌ human. Her goal in life is to add value to the visual cosmos around her, and contribute a positive voice to a world often over-saturated with negativity. She worked as the Editor for the first edition of the Yoobee Paper + Pixels magazine, whose beautiful outcome acts as a testament to her strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Chikaylah was also vital in the organisation and creation of Syntax.
