wo years ago, it might have seemed strange that Paperless Post was launching a physical paper line. First there was the obvious irony of our name—plus the misconception that we set out to replace paper with email. In truth, our goal was always to help people communicate beautifully, regardless of the medium. Since then, we’ve become experts in pixels and paper alike. What started as a humble line of fifty printed designs has grown into a collection of thousands—including exclusive collections with some of the world’s best designers — available in foil stamping, engraving, letterpress, thermography, and flat printing. This season we’ve put a big emphasis on gold with the launch of metallic foil and our first foil-stamped cards and invitations from partners like Kelly Wearstler, J.Crew, kate spade new york, Oscar de la Renta, and Sugar Paper. Our catalog also showcases the best of what we’ve been inspired by lately, from rich natural textures (p.10) and the joy of feasting with friends (p. 12) to traditional Parisian wallpapers (p. 6) and our favorite bits of Christmas kitsch (p. 14). Santa Pez dispenser, anyone? I hope you enjoy this year’s designs as much as we do. Here’s to a very happy holiday season and a year filled with the most delightful invitations.

FROM THE STUDIO OF
MR. BODDINGTON AKA REBECCA SCHMIDT RUEBENSAAL
Mr. Boddington—a well-traveled gentleman with a penchant for Bombay gin—began his career as the imaginary friend of a girl named Rebecca who favored wallpaper over paper dolls. He’s since become the globetrotting deputy of Ms. Ruebensaal’s design studio in the quaint borough of Brooklyn. Most days, Mr. Boddington can be found on this or that expedition, gathering inspiration from a particular braised rabbit dish with wild radishes or the pine trees outside a comrade’s Arctic research camp. His predisposition for lavish patterning, saturated colors, and visual wit is evident throughout his designs, available for any occasion for which you might need dashingly illustrated stationery.

FLAT PRINTING is a modern process that produces cards that are vibrant and smooth to the touch. This process is available on double-sided, 120-pound card stock in standard and double thicknesses. Starting at $1.05 per card.
THERMOGRAPHY is an affordable alternative to engraving that lacks the distinctive “bruise” on the back of engraved cards. Embossing powder is heated to create raised text with a slight sheen on Crane & Co.’s 100% cotton paper. Starting at $1.36 per card.
FOLDED FLAT PRINTING is the classic holiday card format that gives you extra real estate for personal, handwritten messages. Folded card stock is available on over 500 flat printing designs. Starting at $1.45 per card.
ENGRAVING is the standard for high-end, formal stationery. Crane’s 100% cotton paper is pressed firmly against a custom, etched plate to produce raised text with a matte finish. The gentle “bruise” on the back of the card is unique to this timeless method. Starting at $2.44 per card.
FOIL STAMPING combines the best of tactile printing methods and modern print technologies. Metallic foils are pressed into flat-printed stock to create eye-catching accents with a gentle impression. Starting at $1.80 per card.
LETTERPRESS involves a custom relief plate which is inked and pressed lightly into the paper, resulting in imprinted text on Crane’s expressively tactile Lettra paper. Starting at $2.44 per card.
Note: Starting prices are based on orders of 100. Price per card will vary depending on design, quantity, and premium options, including paper stock, envelopes, envelope liners, and printed return addresses.
