Maestro Bay has appeared with 80 different orchestras including the national, chicago, St. Louis, houston, Dallas, Baltimore, new Mexico, new Jersey, north carolina, San Antonio, Syracuse, tucson, Virginia, West Virginia, colorado, hawaii, Jacksonville, richmond, Sarasota, Alabama, Arkansas, canton, eugene, Fort Worth, Springfield, chattanooga, Bochum (germany), carinthian (Austria), Lithuanian national, and ecuador national Symphonies, the Minnesota and Algarve (portugal) orchestras, the Louisiana, Buffalo, rhode island, tulsa, Fort Wayne, reno, Las Vegas, and Boca del rio (Mexico) philharmonics, the Saint paul chamber orchestra, the eastman (Argento’s postcard from Morocco) and Aspen (Moore’s the Ballad of Baby Doe) opera theaters, and the theater chamber players of the kennedy center. Summer music festival appearances have included Aspen (co), Music in the Mountains (co), grant park and ravinia (iL), round top (tX), ok Mozart (ok) and Skaneateles (nY). peter is the primary conductor for the ASo’s performances with Ballet Austin. he made his Austin opera debut in January 2002 with André previn’s A Streetcar Named Desire, and conducted La traviata in november 2002, Turandot in november 2003, and The Marriage of Figaro in April 2005. other positions held by Mr. Bay have included Music Director of the erie philharmonic, Annapolis Symphony orchestra, Breckenridge Music Festival (co), Britt Festival orchestra (or), and posts with the rochester philharmonic

orchestra, Saint paul chamber orchestra, and the richmond Symphony in Virginia. Bay and the Austin Symphony orchestra with pianist Anton nel have released a critically acclaimed cD of edward Burlingame hill’s music on the Bridge label. Gramophone magazine states “the performances advocate brilliantly for hill. Bay and his Austin players are crisp and warm in the symphony, and they collaborate with pinpoint vitality with pianist Anton nel.” With the richmond Symphony he recorded the U.S. premiere performance of Britten’s The Sword in the Stone for opus one records. Voices, featuring the percussion ensemble neXUS and the rochester philharmonic orchestra, is available on the nexus label. A native of Washington, D.c., Mr. Bay is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the peabody institute of Music. in 1994, he was one of two conductors selected to participate in the Leonard Bernstein American conductors program. he was also the first prize winner of the 1980 Baltimore Symphony orchestra Young conductors competition and a prize winner of the 1987 Leopold Stokowski competition sponsored by the American Symphony orchestra in new York. in July 2012 he appeared in Solo Symphony, a choreographic work created for him by Allison orr of Forklift Danceworks. peter can be seen conducting the Barton Strings in the “christopher cross and Friends” pBS broadcast and DVD recorded at the Moody theater. he conducted the hanan townshend score for the 2016 film “the Vessel.” peter was inducted into the Austin Arts hall of Fame in May 2016. he is married to soprano DaileyConnect: and they have a Download theMela app: son colin. in his highly successful book, Jurassic Park, author Michael crichton enabled us to imagine what the return of the great vertebrates of 150 million years ago might be like. in his thrilling 1993 film adaptation, Steven Spielberg brought these fascinating and terrifying creatures to life, and in so doing captivated movie audiences around the world. i must say that i greatly enjoyed the challenge of trying to tell the film’s story musically. And while we can luxuriate this evening in the magnificent sound produced by the Austin Symphony orchestra as they perform the entire score live to the picture, it’s nevertheless tempting to imagine what the trumpeting of these great beasts of the distant past might have been like… i know i speak for everyone connected with the making of Jurassic Park in saying that we’re greatly honored by this event… and i hope that tonight’s audience will have some measure of the joy we experienced while making the film more than twenty years ago.

John Williams
in a career spanning more than five decades, John Williams has become one of America’s most accomplished and successful composers for film and for the concert stage, and he remains one of our nation’s most distinguished and contributive musical voices. he has composed the music for more than one hundred films, including all eight Star Wars films, the first three Harry Potter films, Superman, Memoirs of a Geisha, Home Alone, and The Book Thief. his 45-year artistic partnership with director Steven Spielberg has resulted in many of hollywood’s most acclaimed and successful films, including Schindler’s List, E.T. the ExtraTerrestrial, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Close Encounters of the Third
Kind, the Indiana Jones films, Saving Private Ryan, Lincoln, The BFG, and The Post. Mr. Williams has composed themes for four olympic games. he served as music director of the Boston pops orchestra for fourteen seasons and remains their Laureate conductor. he has composed numerous works for the concert stage including two symphonies, and concertos commissioned by many of America’s most prominent orchestras. Mr. Williams has received five Academy Awards® and 50 oscar nominations (making him the second-most nominated person in the history of the oscars), seven British Academy Awards, twentythree grammys, four golden globes, and five emmys. in 2003, he received the olympic order (the ioc’s highest honor) for his contributions to the olympic movement. in 2004, he received the kennedy center honors, and in 2009 he received the national Medal of Arts, the highest award given to artists by the United States government. in 2016 he received the 44th Life Achievement Award from the American Film institute—the first time a composer was honored with this award.

A World Apart, A Moment Together One World & TRIAD funds of the San Antonio Area Foundation Connecting Central Texas Military Families One World’s innovative performing arts summer camp program provided scholarships through TRIAD funds of the San Antonio Area Foundation to give kids the opportunity to be a part of the musical production of “Wizard of Oz.” When the campers took the stage every parent, no matter where they were located, including Iraq was able to see their child perform. Using amazing video technology generously provided by a partnership with LifeSize Communications, seven military bases were connected to One World Theatre, so that parent and child could see, talk and interact with each other as if they were in the same room. After the performance, each child and their family was given the opportunity to talk privately with their loved one, keeping the bond of family alive across the miles.
