Chase Padgett Writer, Performer

Jay has been directing, acting, writing and improvising professionally since 1988. He has a BFA in Acting and Directing from UNC-Greensboro. In 1992 he joined SAK Theatre in Orlando, FL and became a member of the Core Ensemble, a Creative Producer and the Head of Education for several years. In 2004 with his wife Diana, he formed Jester Theater where he has performed in or directed several shows over the company’s seven seasons, including A Tuna Christmas, Moonlight and Magnolias, Noises Off and the Southeast premiere of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical. In 2008, Samuel French, Inc. published his play The Iliad, The Odyssey and All of Greek Mythology in 99 minutes or less which is currently being performed all around the US. When not running his own theater, Jay freelances as a writer and performer for The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios in Florida. Jay loves music but currently plays no instruments.

Chase Padgett has been a professional actor and musician for most of his adult life. While going to school at the University of Central Florida he fell in love with improv and performed regularly at the Sak Comedy Lab in Orlando Fl, where Wayne Brady got his start. After graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music he started working full time acting at Disney and Universal Studios where he played the Grinch, Beetlejuice, and other memorable characters. In 2010 he premiered his first solo show ‘6 Guitars’ which became one of the most successful shows across the Canadian Fringe Festival circuit in recent years by winning awards and setting box office records. Since then he has toured internationally with his solo works. Though sometimes Chase spends time in Los Angeles auditioning he resides in Portland, OR.
