Acoustic Alchemy Fri, june 9 @ 7 & 9:30 pM for nearly 25 years, Acoustic Alchemy has pushed the limits of the acoustic guitar’s potential by embracing a spectrum of musical styles ranging from straight ahead jazz to folk to rock to world music and beyond. in the two and a half decades since their earliest recordings, the group has assembled and sustained a vast and loyal following that stretches well beyond their u.k. origins. They have released over 20 albums, two of which were nominated for grAmmy awards. The overriding mission of Acoustic Alchemy has been to reach the broadest possible audience by pushing the potential of instrumental music to embrace a broad spectrum of styles without being limited to any specific genre. The band has been through a lot of changes over the years, but the concept of two acoustic guitars has always been the emotional centerpiece which draws people close.

damien escobar Sun, May 4 @ 6 & 8:30 pM easy come, easy go; was the lesson two-time emmy Award winning violinist, damien escobar learned when he and his brother walked away from a multimillion dollar brand that took ten years to build. The now 27-year-old’s claim to fame came early on in his teens when he, alongside his brother, appeared on “America’s got Talent” as nuttin’ but stringz. but growing creative differences eventually became too much for the pair to bear, and the success of nuttin’ but stringz came to an end– shattering the name and reputation damien worked hard to establish, and forcing him to rebuild. since re-launching his career, escobar boasts of 200k downloads from his first r&b mixtape, “sensual melodies”; and has more than a few notable solo headliner performances under his belt including: Cbs Upfront Presentation, Food & Wine magazine’s best new Chef Awards, indy Car Championship Awards, major league baseball Annual golf fundraiser event, Angela simmons “electric daze” fashion show, russell simmons’ hip hop inaugural ball, and corporate concerts for fridAys, Walmart, Target, and more.

jonathan edwards thurs, May 18 @ 8 pM Warm as summer sunshine, real as the truth, intimate as a long overdue visit between old friends … such is a Jonathan edwards concert. four decades into a stellar career of uncompromising musical integrity, the man simply repeatedly delivers songs of passion, songs of insight, songs of humor, all rendered in that pure and powerful tenor which, like fine wine, has only grown sweeter with age. This is one veteran performer who is neither grizzled nor nostalgic. his highly respected repertoire that includes such classics as “honky Tonk stardust Cowboy,” “sometimes,” “One day Closer,” “don’t Cry blue,” “emma,” “everybody knows her,” “Athens County,” and everyone’s favorite ode to putting a good buzz on, “shanty.” And then, of course, there’s the anthemic “sunshine (go Away Today),” that fierce proclamation of protest and independence that resonated with thousands and thousands of frustrated and angry young men and women when it was first released in 1971. Almost 40 years later, at show after show, the song continues to be embraced by faithful followers and new fans alike.

Marc broussard Sat, May 20 @ 7 pM marc broussard is an artist with a unique gift of channeling the spirits of classic r&b, rock, and soul into contemporary terms. This gift has been a matter of common knowledge since 2002, when broussard released his debut album, Momentary Setback, which he recorded and released independently at age 20. since then, broussard has sold over 500,000 combine albums, averaged over 150 tour dates a year, and has toured with zach brown, bonnie raitt, the dave matthews band, Chris isaak, Willie nelson, maroon 5, gavin degraw, and many others. he has also performed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brian, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, A&E Breakfast with The Arts, and the CBS Saturday Early Show. recipient of hard rock’s love All serve All Award for donating proceeds from his live album, bootleg to benefit victims of hurricane katrina to katrina victims, undertaking a month long tour of military installations, building homes for habitat for humanity, and donating his services to louisiana’s united Way.

Fourplay Sun, May 28 @ 6 & 8:30 pM for over 25 years the legend of fourplay has grown. exploring the limitless possibilities of jazz has allowed the quartet to evolve musically, drawing musical elements from a wide range of styles, to hone their own unique and innovative sound. The story begins in 1990, with keyboardist bob James, who had already established himself as a formidable figure in jazz, known not just as an instrumentalist, also but as a composer and arranger, with a solo career dating back to the mid-1960s. it was in 1990, when James decided to reunite with harvey mason during the recording of James’ album grand piano Canyon. mason, one of the most highly sought after drummers of all time (herbie hancock, barbra steisand, notorious b.i.g.), was also well known as a composer and producer. This project also included lee ritenour, and bassist nathan east (barry White, eric Clapton, phil Collins, michael Jackson, daft punk). This recording marked the genesis of the group known as fourplay. The latest release, Silver, celebrates the legendary group’s 25th anniversary of creating innovative and uncompromising music together.

crystal bowersox Sun, june 4 @ 7 pM Crystal bowersox’s emotive folk-rock-country style has been catapulted from the cramped coffeehouses and cavernous subway tunnels of Chicago to millions of homes across America when she placed second in season 9 of American idol. her old soul of a voice, care-free style and ‘don’t mess with me‘ attitude set her apart from the other contestants and eventually landed the self-taught songstress performances with the like of the legendary Joe Cocker, michael franti, John popper, bb king, harry Connick, Jr., and Alanis morrissette. There is a sincerity and authenticity about bowersox that just can’t be manufactured. The same can be said about her musical prowess, which has all the markings of a creative force to reckon with who is in it for the long haul. her rich amalgam of blues, country, folk, and rock makes her one of the most dynamic young voices in music to come along in years.

Monte Montgomery thurs, june 8 @ 7 pM ironically, it’s the cover of another rock pop classic that is bringing monte a high profile fan and opening up new doors. After seeing monte’s version of "sara smile" on youTube, daryl hall (hall & Oates) was so blown away he invited monte to be the featured artist on Live From Daryl’s House, the popular web-based music show. These accomplishments are quite a distance from birmingham, Alabama where monte learned to play piano and trumpet. At the age of 12 monte moved to Texas to live with his mom, a singer/songwriter who instilled in him a passion for music and a taste of the life he was destined to lead as he sang and performed with her in hill Country picking parlors. it was the eventual move to Austin where you could say he earned his musical baccalaureate from that city’s highly competitive music scene (earning him seven consecutive Austin music Awards). That led to the current fulfillment of his musical destiny; a dedicated fan base, critical acclaim and an ever growing touring circuit in the u.s. and europe. it’s no wonder that when Terry lickona introduced him on that Austin City limits’ stage some years ago he uttered these words: “monte montgomery blows people away. There is no other way to describe it.”

They come together for one amazing performance that you do not want to miss!

Five For Fighting with string quartet Fri, july 14 @ 7 & 9:30 pM never has the phrase ‘he shoots, he scores’ been more applicable than when mentioning rabid hockey fan and chart-topping singer/songwriter John Ondrasik. The los Angeles native, who goes by five for fighting (a five-minute penalty for onthe-ice fist-a-cuffs), burst on the scene some 15 years ago with his grAmmy nominated hit ‘superman (it’s not easy) ,’ and has been a mainstay on mainstream radio ever since. The aforementioned ‘superman (it’s not easy) ’ went platinum (as did the album), was number one on Adult Top 40, number two on hot AC, and in the Top 40 Top 10. The mega-hit served as sort of an unofficial anthem following the 9/11 attacks on American soil. in his career, Ondrasik has sold over 2.5 million albums including 2004’s ‘battle for everything,’ which spawned the 2x platinum ‘100 years,’ which continues to melt hearts, provide all ages with an instant case of nostalgia. Other hits have included ‘The riddle,’ ‘World,’ ‘Chances’ and ‘What if.’ his music has been featured in 350 films, Tv shows, and advertisements ranging from the The Blind Side to Hawaii Five-O. he has also written tunes for everyone from Josh groban to The backstreet boys.

Michael grimm thurs, july 20 @ 8 pM michael grimm, a powerhouse of soul, delivers a powerful soul voice while tearing away at the guitar. grimm’s roots were in country music and at the age of 17 won a Christian Country music Association Award for his single, ‘John Wayne and Jesus.’ since then, grimm’s style has evolved into an Americana blue-eyed soul singer. it was this sound that earned him recognition, several more albums, and named him winner of America’s got Talent season5. grimm has toured nationally and internationally tearing the house down each time, and has had the pleasure to work with such legends like the original blue-eyed soul singer, bill medley of the righteous brothers, bb king, The doobie brothers, hear, stevie nicks, and so many more. recently he released an Americana rock album, entitled Grimm, which won him several nominations, including best male Artist, best music video – generation next and best song – generation next. This year grimm continues to fine-tune his sound and his style, and delivering new, passionate, and deep music to the fans with his new upcoming project with legendary guitarist, greg howe. michael grimm is a true artist, an inspirational singer, and a must see performer.
