The Paranormal: A New Science of st the 21 Century By Phillip J. Imbrogno
Paranormal simply refers to something outside of normal. When we think of
paranormal phenomena, the first things that come to mind are ghosts, poltergeists, and psychic communication with other worlds. However, there is another side to these strange occurrences that includes UFOs, alien contact, and the appearance of unusual creatures.
I am a paranormal researcher; over the past thirty years I have investigated every form of paranormal happening imaginable and have compiled an extensive library covering the details of my work in over 2700 case investigations. Despite this great amount of data, I am always amazed by the similarities of reports that span from hauntings to UFOs. Although I have spent quite a great deal of time chasing down strange happenings, my full-time profession is as a science educator; I have been teaching astronomy, earth science, and chemistry for the past twenty-eight years. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in science, and this makes me one of the few UFO/paranormal investigators with a real scientific background. I try to use science as much as possible when conducting an investigation, but since we are dealing with what I believe is a new branch of science our instruments and the socalled scientific method breaks down when researching these so-called borderline sciences. No matter how skeptical you are, there are three things that cannot be denied: that reports of paranormal experiences exist, that they persist, and they are increasingly occurring on a global scale. The same types of reports that we receive in the United States are taking place all over the world, including in places that are not influenced by the media of the United States and Europe. The cases are so similar that there is no doubt that people are seeing and reporting the same thing.
“No matter how skeptical you are, there are three things that cannot be denied: that reports of paranormal experiences exist, that they persist, and they are increasingly occurring at a global scale.
Although I have investigated all claims of the paranormal, my “expertise” in the field has centered on UFO reports. This is because I was the chief investigator during one of the best documented of all UFO flaps, the Hudson Valley UFO Sightings. The UFO sightings took place between the years of 1982-1995; thousands of people in that area of New York encountered something that they believe was not from our Earth; these sightings are documented in my book Night Siege: The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings. During the duration of these sightings there were reports of a giant UFO (larger than an aircraft carrier) that silently flew over ten counties in New York and three in nearby Connecticut. These were “typical” sightings of a UFO, but other types of reports that spanned the paranormal spectrum were also taking place at the same time, including the appearances of ghosts, outbreaks of poltergeist activity, and the appearance of alien and other strange creatures. These other cases were labeled “High Strangeness Reports” since they were not of the UFO ilk but took place during and after its appearance. It was as if the monstrous UFO opened up some type of doorway to a strange world, allowing our plane of reality to be bombarded with all types of phenomena. The High Strangeness Reports intrigued me and I investigated most of them, especially those that seemed to be an offshoot of the UFO phenomenon. During my research I found a definite correlation between the locations of intense magnetic anomalies in the area and the paranormal reports. Also, although many of the people who saw the Hudson Valley UFO were from all walks of life, the majority had never before had a sighting. A very high percentage of the witnesses who had a paranormal experience (High Strangeness Report) had active or dormant psychic abilities, with many of them having similar encounters as a child or sometime in the past. After the Hudson Valley Sightings, I investigated not only encounters with UFOs but also all claims of the paranormal. Each new case that I collected was compared with my previous research, and after gathering enough data I began to see the connection between reports of the paranormal and UFOs.
My new book, Interdimensional Universe: The New Science of UFOs, Paranormal Phenomena and Other Dimensional Beings, compares the paranormal cases with the UFO reports showing that they are related. Like Einstein, who searched all his life for a unified theory to tie together all the forces in the universe, I looked for a similar theory to show that all paranormal events are related. I believe I have finally found the connection to tie together all forms of paranormal phenomenon, from UFOs to hauntings. When human beings are confronted with things they cannot understand most will try to attribute them to supernatural causes. Such was the case during the 18th century, when science was starting to bloom. Despite all scientific advances, including the discovery of the planet Uranus, no one was able to explain what powered the sun. The scientists during that time period knew that no fuel source with which they were familiar could explain the tremendous output of energy given off every second by our sun. Of course we now know that our sun’s power source is deep within its core, where the element hydrogen is fused into helium, but at the time theories abounded, none of which could give a satisfactory answer. Some even claimed that human beings could not understand the sun’s power source, since it was the creation of God. We see the same thing today with paranormal phenomenon and UFOs. Science today does not have the instruments or knowledge, and certainly no answers, to prove or disprove all of these strange events that people are experiencing. Human beings like to think they are in control of their domain, and everything that occurs has an explanation; if it can’t be explained, then it must not exist.
“When human beings are confronted with things they cannot understand most will try to attribute them to supernatural causes.”
UFOs and paranormal phenomenon have no simple answer; they are very complex phenomena indeed, and the only way to begin to understand these types of events is to accept the idea that the visible universe that we mere humans can see is only a narrow band of reality. It is my belief that the events we call paranormal phenomena are emitted from a parallel reality, perhaps even further. Recently, the theory of multiple strings making up the universe has received considerable attention, not only in the scientific community, but with the general public as well. String Theory theoretically explains that the universe is multidimensional in nature. It is strange to think that it took science over two thousand years to catch up to what the mystics, shamans, and Druid priests speculated so long ago. String theory is a relatively new idea that states that particles existing in the universe do not lie at zero dimension points, but are on building blocks or lines called strings. This theory unifies the forces of nature into a single one and tells that all of creation is linked together. The “vibration” of a string at a particular frequency determines if that particle is to be an electron, photon, or any other bit of matter. The force that causes the string to vibrate may come from another universe. In order for one string not to interfere with another when it is vibrating, something like a membrane may separate them. A string can be opened or closed; open strings are linear, while closed strings can fold space creating a multitude of dimensions. In the 1990s, Dr. Edward Witten found evidence that String Theory can predict the existence of a universe with eleven dimensions; this is called the M theory. Many recent developments in the field led to the idea that the universe could have has many as 26 dimensions. The hope of scientists is that String Theory will be able to unify all the known forces and particles into a single theory of “all and everything.” Strings interact by splitting and joining. The annihilation of two closed strings into a single closed string can cause changes to the dimensional state of space. Multiple closed strings can be connected to make tunnels that, in theory, can transport you to another part of the universe or even to one of the theoretical twenty-six dimensions. This is one way in which dimensional wormholes or windows can be formed. Look at it this way: if you have two lengths of string crossing over each other, each string would represent a part of the physical universe.
If we bend the strings to form a loop we can merge both dimensions together, and twisting each string can bring us to different levels or, in the case of the cosmos, different dimensions. Each part of the string could actually vibrate at a different rate, which would mean “time” as we know it would progress in a different manner depending where you are located on the string.
“UFOs and paranormal phenomenon have no simple answer; they are very complex phenomena indeed” If our universe has twenty-six dimensions, we as three-dimensional beings have very little awareness of them. If intelligent beings do exist in some of these dimensions and if they come into our universe we humans would not be able to perceive them as they truly are. This could be the reason why so many different reports of UFOs exist. Each witness is trying to understand what he or she saw by identifying it with something with which they are familiar or could accept. However, the truth may be that UFOs and other types of paranormal phenomena are things we cannot possibly fully understand since we have no real understanding of their part of the universe. An analogy to this hypothesis would be a group of present-day scientists traveling back in time to the 14th century to explain to the great scientific minds of the day the state of the universe, that our Earth orbits the sun and there are other worlds out there besides our tiny planet. Surely, they would be considered mad or even heretical. Interdimensional Universe covers in detail the topics briefly touched on above; while I don’t consider it to be a solution, it is never the less a start to understand the unseen worlds that exist around us

One of the most satisfying and rewarding things to be able to do is to help an animal in distress. They find a way to show their gratitude in a way that transcends the spoken word. This world of ours would be a poorer place without them; they can show us the meaning of life in their own unique way. They have no hidden agenda; what you see is what you get from them; be it aggression, fear, fear usually causes the aggression, self preservation, caring, undying love and affection. So when an animal shows any of these emotions they really mean it. I have had the good fortune over the years to have been able to help many animals; mainly cats, dogs and my favourite; horses.
There are a couple of instances that readily come to mind. My sister in law Lynne Compton had a lovely horse named H. He has sadly passed away now. He was a Dapple Grey Belgian Warm Blood cross country hunting horse; on one of the country pursuits a twig went into and lodged into his left eye causing him to lose his sight in it. This happened before Lynne rescued the horse that was no longer wanted by his previous owner because he couldn’t do his duties has before. H was greatly loved by Lynne and had the best attention that was possible to give him. He was kept at a good stabling yard and Lynne attended him at least twice every day spending quality time with him. The one day when she was riding H he went down a small hole in the field at the stables and damaged his digiflex tendon in the left back leg. This is the tendon in the ankle that controls the hoof; when this happens depending on the severity of the damage a horse sometimes as to be put down because the horse can’t support itself on its leg and it will not heal. An operation can be attempted but there is no guarantee it would be successful and would cause greater stress for the animal.
“[Animals] have no hidden agenda; what you see is what you get from them,” Knowing that I heal people through spirit Lynne asked if I would go to the stables and see if healing/psychic surgery would help H. She was not going to give up on him. So I went along to the stables with Lynne to see if he could be psychically helped. H was a lovely gentle horse and he seemed to sense that I was there to try and help him. I entered his stable and said hello to him saying that I would try and take his pain away to help him walk. Now horses can be unpredictable and I was aware that he might kick out with his hind legs if he didn’t like me touching him. I needn’t have worried; he stood perfectly still for around half an hour allowing me to gently put my hands around his ankle. I was sitting on the stable floor to the side of him; I could feel the energy through my hands going into H’s ankle. There was a strange feeling of things (that’s the only way I can describe it) inside his leg being moved as if tendons were being mended and/or being repositioned.
Healing Animals By Alan Cox
When the surgeon in spirit had finished his work on H; I felt my hands being released from H’s leg; up until then they seemed glued in position to allow the work to be done. I got up from the floor feeling stiff thinking perhaps I needed healing myself to recover from sitting in the same position for that length of time. I went round to H on the side of his good eye and said to him that I hoped that would help him. What happened next was so beautiful; H swiftly moved his head round towards me just stopping short of the side of my face then so gently put the side of his head against my left cheek and held it there for a little while. This was his way of saying thank you. I felt emotional at this point, that H wanted to show how much it meant to him. Image provided by Gareth du Plessis.
Has time gone by and with strapping on his lower leg for extra support H was able to lead a fairly normal life. Lynne’s days of being able to ride H had obviously gone; the risk to him would have been too great. He was left with a weakness there however he wasn’t in any obvious pain. He lived happily for another 15 years after this episode in his life.
“What happened next was so beautiful; H swiftly moved his head towards me just stopping short of the side of my face then so gently put the side of his head against my left cheek and held it there for a little while. This was his way of saying thank you.”
Around the same time as helping H a lady called Jayne who lived in Worcestershire contacted me having found out about me from a friend of hers whom I had given healing to. Jayne owned four horses and was a successful horse jumper; she travelled the country competing at all the major show jumping events. Her favourite horse; an Apache had hurt his left side in a freak accident in his stable enclosure; also Jayne was recovering from a fall off one of her other horses. I seem to have an affinity with horses; I gave healing by gently placing my hands on the horse’s side that just stood perfectly still all the time I was doing it. When I had finished the horse did exactly the same thing that H had done; his head came round towards my face very quickly then stopped and gently rested the side of his head against my cheek leaving it there for several moments before giving out a loud neigh. Jayne said to me that she hadn’t witnessed anything like that before in all her ten years of being involved with horses. She asked if I could help her with her left arm; it was causing her discomfort after the last time she had broken it falling from one of her other horses. She said that she had broken the same arm four times all told in the same way falling off horses. It was now difficult for her to ride anymore and couldn’t lift it above shoulder level because of the pain. I took hold of her lower arm just above her wrist; moments later I Jayne and I felt great movement in her arm. All the bones in her arm were moving very quickly; it felt like they were being realigned back in position. Jayne said that the feeling was not of pain but relief; as if a great pressure was being lifted. This went on for about two minutes or so when the movement suddenly stopped. I released Jayne’s arm; I said “how does that feel now?” She held her arm with her other hand and said that it felt light and pleasantly normal. She lifted her left arm right up into the air above her head with no effort at all; then rotated it around with ease. I had never experienced anything like that before feeling bones being knitted back into place; it was quite surreal. So I had two happy customers; the horse and Jayne. I didn’t hear from her again so I assume she managed to stay mounted on future outings on her horses and didn’t break anymore bones..
“Jayne told me that she hadn’t witnessed anything like that before in all her ten years of being involved with horses” For a number of years Anne and I regularly attended on a Friday an indoor antiques market in the market town of Leek in Staffordshire which lies 40 miles north of our home. We had a stall there selling jewellery and crystals. Every week as well as first time visitors to the market we would see the same faces coming in to see if the stall holders were offering anything new. Two of these people we got to know by having a chat to each time they visited; they were mother and daughter Joanne Hayes and Kerri. Anne and I learned that they were great animal lovers. Jo rescued unwanted cruelly treated Greyhounds and Kerri rescued race horses that were going to be put down for no other reason than they were not earning their keep for their racing stables. Both their husbands supported them in their quest to help as much as they could within financial bounds. Kerri said she had just taken delivery of a mare she had named Nyella. Image provided by ab70579.
Kerri has a friend who lives in Ireland who runs a rescue charity for unwanted horses; she was told by a stable girl who she knew that this particular horse had been badly treated and had witnessed it being beaten when the mare wouldn’t do as the owner wanted it to. One of the main causes for the beatings was the horse’s reluctance to go into a horse box for transport. It was due to go for slaughter when Kerri’s friend stepped in and bought the horse to save it. During a phone conversation between Kerri and her friend the friend told Kerri about this particular horse; straight away Kerri agreed to have the horse and arranged the transport to bring Nyella over to England. Kerri went over to Ireland to oversee the transportation. When they came to load the Nyella into the horse box it was obvious that she was terrified; Nyella kicked out violently and raised herself high into the air to stop her being put into the transport box. It took over an hour to eventually get her loaded; they had to wait until the horse ran out of stamina and then were able with some gentle persuasion to get her in the box. The journey back to England was quite traumatic for the horse; it took nearly two hours to drive to the ferry port then there was the half hour wait for the ferry to sail. Kerri had tried to time it that there wouldn’t be a long wait at the ferry terminal so eliminating as much stress as possible for Nyella. Kerri daren’t unload the horse for exercise in case she couldn’t get her back in the box again. Ferries don’t travel fast so it took two hours for the crossing to Holyhead on the isle of Anglesey which is fortunately adjoined to the mainland of Wales by two road bridges. Then there was another long road journey of about four hours to Kerri’s stables on the outskirts of Leek. As you can imagine by this time Nyella was not a happy horse, Kerri and her husband took the trailer into to exercise field closing the gate behind them; then unloaded Nyella taking care not to get kicked in the process and then let her run manically around the field for quite some time to get her frustration released from within her. After about two hours she had settled down to grazing so Kerri took the opportunity with the help of a couple of other horse owners at the stables to take her kicking all the way to her new stable pen that was to be her home. A month had passed and Nyella was beginning to settle in but was still somewhat aggressive; on one of Kerri and Jo’s visits to the market Kerri asked if I would be able to go to Nyella to see if healing would help her. I agreed to go and see what could be done to help and so four days later I drove up to the Stable yard to meet Kerri and Jo there for me to help Nyella.
“When they came to load the Nyella into the horse box it was obvious that she was terrified,” I entered the stables passing horses on either side that were all very inquisitive to see a different face enter their space; horses are very nosey creatures and a lot more intelligent than some people realise. I arrived at the stall; fourth on the left where Nyella was. She looked up to see who had come to visit her; Kerri said she would enter the stall first to keep her calm the best that she could. Now has I have stated earlier horses are my favourite animals even though I love all animals; however I would be lying if I said I had no fear of them. They are large imposing animals that could do you a lot of damage if they were a mind to and I wasn’t sure of Nyella knowing her history and how badly she had been treated by other human beings.
Kerri had closed the stall gate behind her to stop Nyella making a dash for freedom which she had done before; upon Kerri’s invitation to enter the stall I slowly opened the gate so as not to startle the Mare. Kerri moved to the front of Nyella and I went to the left hand side of the horse. She had a problem with her side and rear quarters; I gently put both of my hands on to Nyella’s side and rested them there to allow the healing energy flow through me from the doctor in spirit into Nyella. I could feel the tenderness inside her; the energy from within my hands was pulsating through into her; at first all was well Nyella stood there still; Kerri was talking to her; reassuring her that all was alright. Then suddenly Nyella swung her head round and nipped me quite hard on my left arm; even through my coat that I was wearing it hurt. That was not going to stop me helping her; Kerri thought I should leave the stall for my own safety but I had this strong felling that I should continue which I did. Now I was expecting more trouble from Nyella; but no she seemed to realise then that I was trying to help her and she didn’t bite me again although she obviously wasn’t comfortable with the situation. Dr Ingles who is in spirit kept my hands firmly stuck onto Nyella for another ten minutes or so until he had finished his work. Kerri and I then left Nyella to recover from the experience.
“I could feel the tenderness inside her; the energy within my hands was pulsating through into her,” Sometime passed; about three months when Kerri got in touch with me to say that from that day with Nyella she calmed down rapidly; her aggression had gone almost immediately. Kerri said she thought she would wait a little while to be able to see the overall improvement in Nyella. She said that Nyella was interacting with the other horses there in a positive way and showed no sign for concern; the vet had attended Nyella and could see a remarkable improvement in such a small amount of time from her severe injuries caused through continual beatings. Also Kerri had moved stables to another yard and needed to transport Nyella by using the horse box trailer, she was expecting a hard time again like she had when bringing Nyella over to England; but no she went into the box with ease; no kicking or rearing up or neighing; she just followed Kerri in and stood there waiting for the trailer to be moved and when they arrived at her new home she just gently backed out of the horse box and went into the field to have a look round at her new surroundings. All is still well for Nyella; Kerri says that Nyella is now enjoying life.
A few years have now passed and Kerri and her mom Jo have kept in touch through social media and just a few months ago before starting to write this book I had a message from Jo asking if I could help her three rescued Greyhound dogs especially Lily who had been especially badly treated by her previous owner; she had been beaten on her side and it hurt her to lie down. Now usually when a stranger arrives at a house with dogs there is a lot of barking and commotion not so at Jo’s house. She let me in and I went through to the living room to find all three greyhounds lying down on their beds with no interest in who had entered the room. Jo said that the dogs had been like this since she had owned them. They had been rescued at different times and the dogs had just accepted each other. Lily was lying on her left side, the side that was alright; however she looked uncomfortable, Jo said that Lily wouldn’t let a man including Jo’s husband near her; it was because her previous owner; a man who had beaten her on a regular basis. Lily was a grey flecked coated Greyhound who looked tired and fed up with life. Jo said she would hold Lily for me to try and help her; but there was no need; Lily just lay there; I talked to her telling her I wanted to make her pain go away.
“Lily was a grey flecked greyhound who looked tired and fed up with life.” She seemed to understand and let me gently put my hands on her good side so the healing energy would go through her body to heal the other side that was hurting her. After about thirty minutes the healing was over and Lily got up wagged her tail and went over to Jo for a fuss. Jo said she wouldn’t have believed it if she hadn’t seen for her own eyes how Lily had allowed me to touch her. I thank Doctor Ingles for his calming influence he had on Lily and the work he performed on her. When Doctor Ingles had completed his work there was a visible improvement in Lily’s demeanor; she had a twinkle in her eyes now that looked empty before. Now while the healing was taking place the other two dogs; Eric and Gem were just lying there on their beds it seemed with not a care in the world. It was Eric’s turn next to experience the energy boost from doctor Ingles through my hands. I shuffled on my bottom over to him and said “hello Eric can I place my hands gently on you please; just here on your back?” he had raised his head has I went over to him with curiosity on his face and then has I spoke these words to him put his head back down on his bed and let me get on with it. Eric is a lovely quiet soul; a black and white shiny cared for coloured coat; he had been through a lot in his life and now was enjoying some quality time with Jo caring for him. He let me touch him for about fifteen minutes or so then suddenly got up and walked over to Jo has if to say that’s enough now. I then went over to Gem an all black laid back greyhound that in all fairness was not in need of a lot of help; she seemed the one of the three dogs that was alright; however Doctor Ingles gave her some energy through my hands to help her a little more. The whole session with the three dogs lasted for about two hours all told and all three greyhounds are doing well. Lily’s side has recovered and is no longer in pain and Eric and Gem are full of vitality in their own laid back way. Image provided by Andreas Krappweis.

Survival Physics: Part Two By Robert Pearson
A HOLISTIC SOLUTION My quest really began in 1984 when I became aware that something
was badly wrong with the logic associated with the "big bang" theory. This indicated that a new approach was required. In this case the problem was that the initial explosive creation, postulated by cosmologists, could not be properly switched off. In consequence the theory actually predicted an expanding universe accelerating at a rate many billions of times greater than astronomical observations could possibly allow! It is known as the problem of the "cosmological constant" (Nothing to do with one Einstein proposed). Cosmologists still search in vain for a solution.
Another problem was that although Einstein's theory called "general relativity" provided a highly accurate mathematical description of the motions of planets and stars, its assumptions were simply incompatible with those of quantum theory. These two so-called "pillars of twentieth century achievement" simply did not match (and still don't, of course). Therefore no fully satisfactory theory of mechanics for the cosmic scale existed; so a revised mechanics was also needed. My hope was to derive a quantum-compatible theory of gravity that would also eliminate the cosmological constant.
Questioning the Origin of matter results in a working Hypothesis Quantum mechanics had also to be considered. It was clear that this level of reality appeared as if contrived by something. The quantum level therefore needed creation by a more basic level. This had to provide a source for the organised quantum waves on which quantum theory depended. Conversely it would be inappropriate to adopt wave mechanics at this basic level, now to be called the i-ther, otherwise it could not be a basic level. Furthermore, this basic level needed the potential to evolve a background mind in order to satisfy the implications arising at the quantum level.
Was it reasonable to assume that a background mind would produce the "macroscopic" level, to which man relates, as a copy of its own mechanics? If it did would an intermediate quantum level be required, for a reason yet to emerge, which operated on a different basis in order to achieve this end? Moreover, and most difficult of all, how could such a mind appear and create itself from a void of nothingness? This seemed like a formidable string of questions and yet offered a reasonable working hypothesis. So the assumption was made that the mechanics derived for the macroscopic level would also apply at the sub-quantum level of i-ther, the ultimate and basic level where true reality was assumed to exist. Then the quantum level of reality would be the interface between the two and only here would the strange nature of quantum mechanics need to apply. It is necessary to emphasise this principle of the approach since quantum physicists assume that quantum mechanics is the ultimate level. However, the counter argument is that something real must exist to produce its contrived nature and, if the new assumption leads to predictions supported by observation, then the approach could not be discounted as unreasonable. After all there is no way of proving that higher curved geometries really exist. These concepts, so popular with mathematicians and physicists, can only become accepted by the accuracy of the predictions arising. The final solution will be summarised, from the published literature (Pearson 1,2,3). It transpired that the mechanics assumed to govern the i-ther was not critical. It could be based on the original Newtonian or a revision of that theory, but in addition to the inadmissibility of quantum mechanics, relativity theory was also inappropriate. The latter requires an observer to fix every "frame of reference". No observer could be considered to exist before an i-theric mind had evolved. The derivation to be summarised here gives mostly the same end equations as general relativity and simultaneously eliminates the difficulty of the cosmological constant. A new interpretation for waveparticle duality emerges naturally from the mathematical logic and then shows how consciousness could exist prior to the creation of matter.
A Solution to the Gravity Problem It seemed to me that the problem with Einstein's theory was that the assumptions on which it was based made it incompatible with the existence of any background medium, such as the old aether, an invisible substance which for centuries had been considered to permeate the entire universe. The discord arises because Einstein chose the observer as the "frame of reference". This meant the observer is regarded as standing still. No two observers moving with respect to one another can both be standing still relative to the old "aether" or any other background medium. The aether was discredited in about 1900 due to failure of experiments made to detect its presence, and also because of its embarrassing conflict with relativity. Consequently the aether remains to this day as a discredited concept, yet something like it is needed if quantum theory is to make sense. Therefore the assumptions of relativity seemed to need modification. This is something theorists will not accept since this means the abandonment of relativity theory. Newton's mechanics seemed the only alternative but is restricted to low speeds. Revision of this theory therefore seemed necessary to make it exact. Newton had assumed that any object is made from "mass": a quantity determined from the force exerted by the object when it is weighed. This mass he assumed to remain constant under all conditions. Using his laws of motion, however, the revision showed both matter and the motion of matter to be made from energy: "mass-energy". Energy had to be added to an object to speed it up and so it became more massive and heavier than when in a state of rest. A background medium, such as the aether, also had to exist and had to be more compressed the closer the approach to a massive object in order to satisfy a constraint of quantum theory: so the density of the aether had also to be variable. This variable density, coupled with the variable mass-energy, gave the same predictions as general relativity but offered the huge advantage of being fully quantum compatible. Although mostly the same end equations appeared, they had a different meaning and interpretation. For example, as most people know, a clock situated at a low level in a gravitational field runs slow according to Einstein's concept of "gravitational time dilation": time itself is said to run slower at a lower level. For the revised Newtonian time runs at the same rate everywhere. However, Einstein's famous equation E = mc2 appears more directly from a revision of Newtonian mechanics than from relativity, but now c, the speed of light, reduces at lower levels instead of being the universal constant Einstein postulated. Any object, including a clock, when lowered say, on a cable, will have E, the energy from which it is made, remaining constant. Hence m, the mass of the clock, needs to increase to compensate for the reduction in c. This "gravitational mass increase" reduces the frequency of vibration of the clock mechanism. Exactly the same equation appears as given by general relativity but describes something totally different. Unfortunately, as expounded by the physicist, Brian Martin(4), no articles are permitted publication in Western scientific journals, regardless of merit, unless the author writes from a prestigious address, such as a university, and has at least a PhD. in physics. All letters of rejection used political reasons; the most common simply stating that relativity was fully established so that alternatives were not required.
Consequently this alternative to relativity had to be presented in Russia in 1991 where sound logic was found to outweigh the consideration of status. This mathematically based paper was selected to appear in their proceedings(1). To follow the principle already described the same revised Newtonian could now be applied to study the background medium at the basic level of reality. Quantum mechanics would only apply at the interface between macroscopic and basic levels and so would be irrelevant. The hope was that the peculiarities at the quantum level would emerge as a natural consequence.

Tech Time with Brock and Doc: Paranormal Starter Kit
5. Aluminum Case
By Brock Burroughs and Dave Erickson Although this recorder only records monaural audio, it has excellent audio what does someone who is new to paranormal investigating actually need? Before you go crazy and quality when recording in its SHQ and HQ spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on your new modes. It stores recordings in MP3 formats hobby, there is one thing you need to know. Probably and has 4 recording modes: SHQ (44.1kHz, 192kbps): Super High- Quality monaural 99% of most paranormal “evidence” comes in the form of audio. That said that is where we should put mode HQ (44.1kHz, 128kbps): High-Quality most of our investment. Beyond that you may want monaural mode SP (44.1kHz, 48kbps (Mono)): Standard Play monaural mode LP to purchase a low cost point and shoot camera to document the location, and a low-cost EMF meter to (11.025kHz, 8kbps (Mono)): Long Play monaural mode. look for Electro-Magnetic Fields.
There is a plethora of equipment to choose from but
This is the new Zoom H2n (1a). It is a Digital Voice Recorder and also be used as a USB Microphone with most computers. As a digital voice recorder it has awesome capabilities, quality sound and amazing pickup capability. The recorder stores on SDHC cards and can handle up to a 32GB card of storage. This will enable you to make high quality recordings for many days on end if needed. It records ¬up to 48khz (48,000 samples a second) in WAV format or up to 192kbps as an MP3. It comes with several accessories, the most important of which is a foam windscreen. It has three amplification settings Low, Medium and High. When set on high it can detect the slightest whispering even at 40-60 feet away from the microphone. Originally designed to do live performance recordings, it has 4 electret condenser microphones. The two microphones located on front are phased in 90 degrees and the two on the back are phased in 120 degrees. This is useful depending on the distance from and size of the performance you are attempting to record. The microphones are selectable as front pair, back pair, combined stereo and 4-track recording (WAV format only). The 4 track recording is useful to identify the direction from which a sound originated. So if you are looking for a high quality microphone to use with your computer and to use on investigations the Zoom H2n is for you. This little jewel of a recorder can be obtained for the low price of $160. Perhaps that’s a little too high for your budget. Then maybe something like a Sony ICD-PX333 4 GB Voice recorder (1b.) is more for you. Priced at only $49, this recorder offers excellent storage and audio quality.
The recorder also has two levels of microphone sensitivity, Low and High. The low setting is excellent for taking verbal notes while the high setting enables you to amplify sounds and hopefully EVP’s. This recorder has 4GB of internal memory and Mini USB connector that allows you to connect it to your computer to download the files easily. Next you may want to invest a few dollars in a low-cost point and shoot camera (2). While the more you can afford to invest when purchasing a camera the better, a low-cost point and shoot digital camera can still provide a lot of value on an investigation and not for the reasons you may think. If you are investigating in a residential home, it is important to document everything before and after the investigation. This can help protect you and your team from accusations of stealing or breaking their belongings. Plus, if you get lucky you may catch some visual anomaly in a photo that could be paranormal. Most cameras use Flash memory like SD (Secure Digital) cards or Sony Memory stick to store images. Most of these cameras can also be connected via USB cable to your computer to download your images. You will want to ensure you get a camera that has at least 8MP (Mega-Pixels) or higher. You can find these cameras online pricing anywhere from $30 - $100. You may want to include a small EMF Meter (3).
An EMF Meter detects Electro-Magnetic Fields. These fields can be given off by electrical wiring, appliances and basically anything that runs on electricity. It is believed by many the spirits can manifest EMF fields that can be detected. Most teams use them prior to beginning the investigation, to determine the base levels of electromagnetic fields in a home or location. Then during the investigation they use them to locate instances of EMF that were not present previously and try to trace it’s source to identify whether it is coming from something physical or perhaps something spiritual. The detector depicted here is an EMF-822a and is available online for about $60. Another thing to consider having handy is a First Aid Kit (4). Safety first always! Although investing in the dark is certainly not a requirement as you can experience plenty of paranormal activity with the lights on as well, most people like to do it in the dark. You never know if you are going to bump into something, trip and fall and get some scrapes and bumps. It’s always best to be prepared for all occurrences, so at least someone on your team should have a first aid kid handy. And lastly, you will want a nice equipment case (5) to safely store your equipment in and protect it from damage during transport. For only $29.99 you can get this nice aluminum hard case that has pluck foam inside. The pluck foam allows you to remove only the sections creating cubby holes to store each piece of equipment snug and secure. They are available at Habor Freight stores near you (in the US) or online! If you would like to know more about any of the equipment discussed here, please check out the Tech Time with Brock and Doc podcasts available at http://techtime.paramaniaradio.com/.

Out of Body By Bernard Fox
I was just 16.
My cousin Nina had gotten me a job working for Head Start, a summer program for underprivileged elementary school kids to help them improve their basic learning skills. I was a teacher assistant’s assistant. I worked there normal school hours. On the weekends I went to the Catskills, upstate New York, for fun. Around half way into August, just before the summer program ended, I got sick with a continuous and amazing headache.
They moved me from emergency to a room all by myself. The kind of Meningitis I had was extremely contagious. Everybody who entered was in a yellow paper gown and mask. They were very concerned about all the kids I had been in contact with at the Head Start program. Apparently I got this from a horse while horseback riding in the mountains. Lot of people, children, and all were vaccinated, inoculated.
I went to my family doctor. He said I either have a bad summer cold or Spinal Meningitis. Then he said Meningitis is so rare and if I had it I’d be much sicker, so it was a summer cold. He gave me some cold medication and sent me home. I was to contact him on Monday. That was a Wednesday or Thursday.
I was completely out of at for the next 36 hours. All I remember is looking at my family all around the foot of the bed looking at me. My point of view was, from up in the far corner of the room near the ceiling, looking down. Everyone was in those yellow gowns. My brother Charles had an emerging bald spot on the top back of his head. I had never seen that before. I was never up in the air above him, looking down at the back of his head, before. I was out of my body. That was me in the bed asleep. I realized I wasn’t in my body.
By that next night I wasn’t getting better. My headache was getting worse. Late that night I went to my mother and told her I was going to the hospital. She said I should go back to bed, continue to take the pills, and we would contact the doctor in the morning. I insisted. I knew I had to go to the hospital. Once my mother heard my insistence, she changed her direction and we immediately went to the hospital. I drove myself and her, in my dad’s car. He was asleep. She didn’t drive. He worked hard and was physically knocked out late at night. We drove into the emergency area. I abandoned the car and we walked into the emergency room. I sat with my mother at the reception desk. I said “I’m sick!”, like I was telling them something they didn’t know. I then fell out of the chair forward, onto my face. They put me on a hospital bed. I was delirious. People came into the room and tried to ask me questions. All I wanted to do was sleep. At first they thought I had the DTs. I’m no drinker, and my mother told them so. Then they asked me some questions. “What does “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, mean”. I had no idea. Then they asked me “What is the difference between and apple and an orange?”. That I thought I knew. “An apple, I know what an apple is.” An orange, I know what an orange is” “What’s the question?” I couldn’t remember what the question was. I couldn’t hold two thoughts in my head. I couldn’t think. Eventually they gave me spinal tap. I didn’t feel it. My spinal fluid was cloudy. I had Spinal Meningitis. I heard my mother crying outside the door of the room they moved me to. They were telling her my brain wouldn’t recover from this. At that moment, it had no impact on me.
The next day was Sunday or Monday, I awoke around mid-day. I tried calling home, the line was busy. I tried calling my other brother Manny, no answer. I tried calling Nina, the line was busy. I couldn’t reach anyone. I was getting concerned. All the family lines were either busy or no answer, something must be up. I tried calling my brother Charles’ house. Joan his wife answered. I said “everybody’s line is busy what’s going on”. She shouted “Bernard, is that you”. I said “yea, it’s me, what’s going on!” Apparently everybody was on the phone talking about me. I was what’s going on, and I couldn’t get through to find out. Over the next days I got the news. I had Bacterial Spinal Meningitis. It eats away at the nerve endings in your body, lengthening the space for the synapse, reducing the electrical connections, first the higher functions, then the lower functions till your brain doesn’t communicate with your body to breath anymore, and you are dead. They said I was about four hours from being dead and I would be left with some permanent damage. That’s what my mother was crying about. As soon as they figure out that you have this disease, they pump you with penicillin. They don’t even care if you are allergic at that moment, if they don’t you are dead anyway. I had I V after I V, of solution with penicillin in it. I was in isolation for about two and half weeks. I did a few things while in the hospital. I had over-heard that parts of my mind would be lost from the Meningitis and I tried working to make it better. They said you can’t get brain functions back, but I never believe anything I can’t prove myself.
I created a drip chart for the nurses, which calculated the rate of drip for various amounts of fluid. This was basically dumb but it was good mental exercise with lots of math to do in my head. I tried to figure out how to go to the bathroom by myself. In this room the IV Bottles hanger were attached to both sides of the bed. If I got up to go, I had to take the bottles with me by hand. There was no rolling bottle holder. If I let the bottles down the blood would back up from my arms into the bottles. There was no way to hold both bottles liquid down in one hand. So I swung my feet out of bed and carried both bottles high. I got to the bathroom, and did what I had to. To open or close the bathroom door, I momentarily balanced one I V bottle on my eye socket and turned the knob or slammed the door. On the way out of the bathroom with my left bottle held high and my right bottle balanced on my eye, I closed the door with my right hand, pushing it shut. As I did that the door pinched the flesh between my palm and my thumb and gripped it tight. So now I’ve got one bottle up in the air, one bottle balanced on my eye, and my right hand stuck in the door seam. I was stuck. I must have looked real stupid to the nurse, with my behind sticking out of the hospital gown, standing at the bathroom door with a bottle balanced on my eye. She came in and freed me, but not before getting people to come and look at me because she said “no one would believe it”. Then the room air conditioner broke. The fan was not revolving because one of the four blades had badly bent, jamming the motor. I wasn’t waiting days for them to come and fix it. I pushed the bed over to the a/c unit and pulled the unit out of the sleeve onto the hospital bed. Then I broke off the broken blade and the one exactly opposite on the shaft. Now it was a two bladed A/C but it worked fine. This time the same nurse was freaked about the soot and grease on the bed. I didn’t care. Matter of fact I didn’t care about anything. I was happy to be alive. Actually, since then I've always been happy to be alive. As the recovery months moved on, I figured out if doctors couldn’t help me recover all of my brain I would at least try some things. I figured that increasing the blood flow to my head could only help things. I began standing on my head hours a day. That helped but it looked strange. Then I began forcing myself to look at larger and larger groups of things, to recognize amounts without counting. If two coins fall on the floor you don’t count them you look and know there are two. If 17 things fall on the floor, you count them. You don’t know its 17 without counting. I decided to improve my ability to see how many, without counting. I could see 3 at the same time and not count. I could see four, I could see five. I keep going always pushing myself to see more and more without counting. It was now the late fall. I went to my aunt’s house in the Catskills to convalesce. There I couldn’t just sit still and wait to get better. I thought I would develop my eye and hand coordination. I bought an old style western six-gun. It has no rear sight. It was 2 pounds in a quick draw holster. It was a gas operated single action six. It is like a Zen weapon. Kind of like a Samurai sword. You don’t think, you just draw and fire. You develop your eye and hand coordination. Now this takes a little practice. The gun must be drawn from the holster, cocking the hammer back three clicks to rotate the barrel, set the hammer back, and the trigger forward. This all must be done without slipping because if you slip the hammer on the pull, you can blow your kneecap off. Then, without aiming, push towards the target and pull the trigger. I became a quick draw fanatic. I could do all those western gun tricks. I became so fanatical I was waxing the inside of my holster. I became really good at it, hitting whatever I wanted to hit. I figured the eye and hand control could only improve connections in my mind just like a pianist learns a piece by looking at the music and then doesn’t need to look at the music anymore. He might say “the music is now in his fingers” but it think more likely he has made some new or strengthened some old connections in his brain so he doesn’t have to go through the conscious part of the mind anymore.
In any case from all this I got most of my brain back. Or perhaps I got some new parts of my brain working. I couldn’t say which. What I do remember is, what it is like to not be able to hold multiple thoughts in your head. What the stages of thought as your brain goes away and then comes back again, are. I think I am mostly like I was, losing some old thinking capability but gaining others or some back. I didn’t pay enough attention to how thinking worked until I lost it, so I don’t know for sure. What I do know for sure is I can’t play chess on the same level I used to play. My blood pressure spikes for moments and then recovers. And I didn’t have to go to the Army because I had Spinal Meningitis. Years later I spent some time with Salvador Dali, and that’s another story, but when we discussed this brain construct at dinner one night, I drew a picture of how I think the brain is connected. I explained that I went through the drawn stages of connections. As I came back, I was aware of them. I know what it’s like not to be able to think. I explained that each connection was at a different 3 dimensional angle to the earlier/preceding connection. Kind of like train switch track, except with more than two choices, and with each choice being stronger and weaker in electrical strength, mostly from practice. (maybe that’s why it’s called a train of thought?)
Dali jumped right on it and agreed. He told me however that there was a maximum number of simultaneous pathways and angles. He also told me the maximum number was nine. He came to the number nine by his own observation. I can’t say nine is the maximum. But what I can say is each next level is a smaller and smaller angle of electrical connection to the original electrical connection. And as the angle gets small there is more of a propensity for the electricity to jump to another direction. Perhaps this is what induction is? Perhaps it’s a jump from one path to another. At nine they get pretty close together. When the diner ended Dali said “Beethoven thought on all nine levels, and so does Dali!” I can say I lost my mind and found it again, going from out of body, to very connected with my body again.

Laughter By Amanda Morris
Back in the day, my dear Bishop-friend would sign his emails “laughter is the best medicine.” At the time I found it to be very appropriate for him. He’s a jolly guy with an eclectic sense of humor. And certainly he’s seen his fair share of hardship in his life, so it only made sense that laughter meant a lot to him, or in some instances, was therapeutic. To him, laughter is medicine.
One of the best lessons I learned as a Baby Pagan was that the Gods like to laugh. They do! Certainly my foundational/training coven had its serious moments, but for the most part, we loved to get together to laugh. There was no type of humor that was off-limits, from light and campy to very dark and macabre. We loved sarcasm, puns, and even the occasional fart joke. The Coven had a favorite story from a ritual that was from before my time. In our tradition, the High Priest and High Priestess would call God and Goddess for every ritual. How they did the invocation was up to them – let it come to them, free form, complex, simple, scripted, memorized, etc. Mostly, they just made it up on the spot, or rather, let the words come to them for what was appropriate for that moment or that ritual, or whichever words came to them through Divine Inspiration. So, in this one particular ritual, the High Priestess gave a really eloquent invocation. Really top-notch impressive When it came to the High Priest (who was very well spoken and educated) his mind went totally blank! He said he started to freak out, and the only words that came to him were those from Monty Python…
“O Lord... Ooh, You are so big... So absolutely huge. Gosh, we're all really impressed down here, I can tell You.” So the whole Coven started laughing and said their “blessed be's” and continued the ritual, and despite the perceived “mistake”, the group said that the High Priest's “stumble” really added to the ritual. They laughed and laughed and laughed, they felt goofy and silly, but sometimes we’re just so overwhelmed by the wonder and majesty of the universe that we can't help but get a little tongue tied, especially in the middle of ritual. Well, Gosh. We’re just so impressed, I tell you what. Also, it’s nice to not take oneself so seriously. So this ability to laugh during rituals is something that was instilled in me early on in my Pagan studies, and it’s something I haven’t lost. (At least, I hope not.) Gee, of all the mistakes that can be made during a ritual, I feel like I’ve made them all! I’ve caught stuff on fire, or had no fire, or spilled water, or angered the gods, or forgot all of my supplies, or spoke over someone’s part, or didn’t write a part, or skipped whole parts of the ritual, or my mind went blank, or it became overwhelmed, or someone farted, or I burped, or… anything!
And what I’ve learned is that what we do can be really serious and really solemn, yes. But we’re just humans, and humans are pretty goofy and weird, and that Deity really, truly has a sense of humor. Just look at mythology. Some of that stuff is really weird. So the Gods know how to laugh, and I think they like it when we laugh, too. After all, the Charge of the Goddess reminds us
“Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices, for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals.” So don’t worry so much about fucking your stuff up. It will be okay. Just laugh, diffuse the tension, gather your thoughts, and continue on what you were doing. For realsies. Laugh at yourself sometimes, because I promise, the Gods are laughing at you, too. My Gift By Barbara Gremillion
I had been on what some may have called an absence from practicing my psychic gift. It can be as draining as it is helpful. But, a time comes when one steps back a bit, takes a breath and a break to reflect on what has transpired. Everything happens for a reason, and it can be hard sometimes to understand the purpose of it all. A few days ago, a friend called me to tell me she had someone with her that wanted a reading from me. Of course I wanted to read for this person, but at the same time, there was almost a hesitation. It had been awhile and I was thinking am I prepared to read for them, can I give to them the clarity they are looking for? Your gift never leaves you. Its always there. None the less, my experiences over the past few months left me perhaps unsure of its presence. The reading was set up, and I began to read for them. (you have to understand that this was done online, blindly. I was not looking at this person. They were in the UK and I here in the deep south of the United States). I had never met her or read for her before. Most of the readings I have done have all been online and I have never met the person I am reading for and most times if not all, have been where the person lives thousands of miles from me. I have been asked many many times how I can connect to a person over the internet like this. My answer is always the same, its my gift, but the answers are from spirit and they use me to give it to you. The reading not only amazed the client but myself as well. I was spot on with it all. I even told her what she was wearing, but I mentioned her car and the color. She was blown away as she had just purchased a new car and it was in fact red. I gave her insight to a lot of family questions she asked, gave her direction on her career path and twice mentioned family members where I felt they were passed on or not around. The client told me one was her twin sister that had died and the other was a father that was not allowed to be part of this persons life. My gift was still there. It had not left me. Spirit just waited for the right moment to offer itself for me to use it again. When we wait on spirit to move, it is always the right time for a particular thing to occur. It will always work out the way spirit intends for it to. For our own best interest. There will be shifts, and in some instances, a mighty shift that you may not have been expecting. But it is all for the good. We experience these kind of things on our spiritual path to teach us, mold us and prepare us for what is next. To gain wisdom on our journeys on this earthly plain. What we learn will be something we can use for ourselves and for others later on.

A Mothers thought
My heart hangs heavy since you’ve been gone The space that’s left feels like a whole an empty void within You no longer dwell within this realm But in my heart, my thought, my all There’s never a day I don’t see your face How I would love to feel your warm embrace I feel your present as you draw near My breath you take, my tears they fall, Our time so special, why should it end But you did all you needed to do, then in a wisp off you flew I miss the smile, your eyes, your noise, the shout of bye as the door closed That’s how it is each day I live So I move on and hold you near, because my love, you’re so very dear The energy of love is our connection now No one can every no just how much I love you so Be free my special one Yes be that energy which is love

Paranormal Researchers Visit Northfield to Share Tips, Techniques, Supernatural Tales Ghosts are taboo. For some, entertaining the idea of a sharing a space with a ghost might be difficult to stomach, and even more so if you call a paranormal group for help and a group of teenagers knocks on your door. The Teen Paranormal Society, facilitated by the founder of Great Northeastern Paranormal Research and mentored by the founder of Cumberland County Paranormal, is made up of a group of teenagers who are gearing up to be the next generation of paranormal researchers. “Quite frankly, I’m getting too old for this,” said Clayton Borneman, founder of Cumberland County Paranormal. “We’re creating the next generation,” said Great Northeastern Paranormal Research founder John Pacelli Jr.
Both founders and the active members of the Teen Paranormal Society met at the Otto Bruyns Public Library in Northfield to give a presentation Oct. 21 about the processes involved in paranormal research and of the groups’ findings. Click to read more.
Signs from Spirit By Pam Brittan
Throughout my life I have had many signs from Spirit
guiding me and sometimes jolting me into action over something. I have recently moved house and the signs received in a short space of time were absolutely amazing. Anyone who has the stress of moving will know that for it to run smoothly and you to get settled the other end is quite a feat. In a short space of time, my husband was made redundant, I was taken quite ill, and we had to sell our little bungalow for which we had worked very hard. Although my faith has never been doubted my human frailties were coming to the surface. I had reached the end of my tether and appealed to my Dad who is in Spirit to help with the situation. There is no miracle for anything. We have our own personal responsibility of everything we do and say. So my appeal for myself was coming out of a desperation of the time. We have all been in such a place. Within a week of the appeal we had a telephone call from the estate agent requesting for us to show two couples around the bungalow. One was in the morning, the other the afternoon. This was not unusual you may say, but what was a “coincidence” was one of the couple’s name was the same as my maiden name and obviously my dear Dads’. They were due in the afternoon. The couple in the morning, we knew were not interested in the place as we were showing them around but, the gentleman had noticed a model of a Heavy Goods Lorry I had given as a Christmas present to my husband, who had driven these Lorries in the past. This sparked a conversation between the two men and it transpired that the gentleman had worked for a company called Mitchell’s and Butlers for many years driving Lorries. My Dad had worked for the same company from the time he left school until he retired. At the time I thought of all the people to come and view the bungalow this man had come as a sign to say “Dad was on the case”! The couple in the afternoon with my maiden name bought the bungalow. My thanks to my Dad was abundant. We do forget to say thank you at times. Each night before I go to bed I send out healing and thoughts to the many people and places that are in need. But this thanks was heartfelt because we needed to move on and find somewhere to live. We stored everything into a Storage Unit and “lived” in a Caravan for a short while. We didn’t want to hold up the sale and this seemed the logical thing to do. Prior to us moving out of our bungalow we had been hunting around for the right place for us to call home. My youngest Daughter had sent a link to a bungalow which was in a district seemingly too far out for us to consider. A day was put aside when we decided to look around a couple of places with my oldest daughter but they were just not suitable, so we went back and sat having a cup of tea.
I was mentioning this link we had had and said maybe it was too far out. Suddenly, my eldest Daughter, put down her cup and said “We have to go now, I feel it is the right place, but, we need to go now, maybe, just to see how far it is”. Her urgency was infectious we just got in the car and drove to the place. We had not made an appointment, the journey was really to see how far out this bungalow was and whether we could ascertain it was for us by looking at the district and the state of the place. Well, as we arrived, there was another car waiting outside this bungalow and in a short while another car joined the queue, this held the estate agent. We had arrived just as the agent was showing someone else around the bungalow! The urgency my daughter had felt had certainly been a prompt from the Spirit World. We are now residing in that bungalow, it was perfect for us but not the other couple. We just happened to arrive at the right time to be able to see inside! Throughout my many years I have come to realise that we are given help along the way. Being the guidance is the key, often we go against this prompt and it doesn’t work out in the right way for us, but, going with our “gut” instinct or “knowing” will always work in our favour. Spirit will give prompts or signs and it is up to us to watch out for them and heed them. None of us is infallible and we certainly have our doubts but, Spirit will never let us down we just have to TRUST. Many people will know this saying of mine which will make you smile “GO WITH FLO, SHE’S A BIG GIRL”. (A comical way of saying Go with the Flow of things) Even though after all these years I am still learning to heed these words, we cannot do anything by worrying over it all so let these words inspire you and keep you going!

I felt odd, disturbed when I woke up to go to the bathroom, an anxious monkey on my back, in my mind. Not good. Closing my eyes I felt relieved as the sleep world welcomed me. Trying to get outside to escape the mob, the unconscious insane mob that kills. I navigate the old building, a lighthouse, bell tower? I climb the inner architecture, cubes and vertical rectangles. The ascent is narrow. I see daylight above. In an obscure nook is an exit covered by a tight mesh screen. I try to dislodge it. I can始t bust it to get outside. I have to get outside. Then I see a light on the floor below moving, seemingly searching. For me? Or does it have another purpose? I am trapped! Whomever or whatever it is I have no escape, if it is coming for me. I am cornered. I watch the moving light below. Panic! I am trapped in frenzy. Steady! I will attack with all my might whatever the dire consequences! I SCREAM Did I actually scream to wake up? My eyes open, awake in the dark bedroom.
SCREAM By Cyrus Yavneh
Awake, I see electric air, almost sizzling shapes. I feel demons. I am in the grip of its aura. I know I am a man in a bed who had an intense disturbing dream. I close my eyes and go back to sleep. Image provided by Sharon Brucker.

Excerpt from Shades By Brian Schwarz
Blood was sticking between my fingers, sending a rush of the stuff
away from my brain, elating me in a familiar way—a way that always ended in a crash when I hit the floor. It wasn’t the bright red color that made me feel this way, nor the warmth of the thing, but the mere fact that it was a symbol of life. And that symbol was currently leaving my body. At any pace, it alarmed me, disarmed me, transformed me into something less alive. “It’s just a paper cut,” I reminded myself aloud, attempting to distract myself from it to stay conscious. It felt odd to hear my own voice echoing in my cubicle. I slowed my breathing—focusing on it, trying to maintain my composure. This was a skill I was still learning. I glanced out the window. The sun was just setting on the horizon, covering the people and cars in the bustling downtown streets with a bronze sheen. This was my favorite time: a time when you could almost believe that anything was possible in this majestic world. The red sands of the desert beyond the city floated above the streets like so many glimmering fireflies, glinting off the orange glow. The Valley of the Sun was alive. I could hear a muffled sound in the background, saying something—saying it to me. “Hello? Is anyone there?” a caller spoke.
“Yes, I’m sorry! Thank you for calling Syntax Corporation, how can I assist you with your O-Chip today?” They were called Organic Chips (or O-Chips for short), and Syntax Corp made them. It was part microchip for data processing, and part organic cells for wireless transmission. The chips were implanted in the brain but never attached, which was part of the magic of them. They worked with the gray matter to integrate themselves as a part of the brain. The uses were immense. You could start your coffeemaker, turn on your lights, turn on your shower to a specific temperature, check your email, make a phone call in your mind, think in one language and speak in another—all without getting out of bed. Eventually, the O-Chips became as common and widespread as cars after the industrial boom. And then Syntax Corp grew. In a mere 15 year’s time, words had become unimportant, useless even. Syntax Corp: “It’s the thought that counts.” “I think my husband… you see… I think he’s been hacked! He’s acting strangely.” The voice rang in my head. The call center was a relatively quiet place with most people choosing to communicate via chip rather than speaking into a microphone. But, occasionally, you could still hear the tapping keyboard of the techie purists, who preferred the aesthetic feel. I tapped my ring finger and thumb together twice (my tell), letting my O-Chip know to start transmitting. Everyone had a different tell, and they could change it to whatever they wanted. Most people preferred subtlety to dramatics. Personally, I used two taps to transmit information, and two more to stop.
“Ma’am, I understand your concern and I’m happy to help you with that. It would be impossible to hack an O-Chip. Why do you think he’s been hacked?” “Because… he’s just been acting… strangely…” I heard a voice in the background yelling at her, “I can hear you, you know! You’re the one who’s been acting strange, Lucy! Not me!” She shushed him and spoke quietly through her receiver. “Ever since he got it, he’s been acting… irritable…” she whispered. I could practically see their family: an older couple, slightly adverse to new things. The husband had finally decided to take the plunge, while the wife had chosen to remain without one. The wife had become paranoid, started seeing things that weren’t there, and started blaming marital problems on technology. “Ma’am, I understand. But there is nothing that can hack in to the O-Chip. The wireless signal comes from the cells themselves, and only the information on the chip can be modified. So someone could give you false information, or possibly redirect you to the wrong website, but they could never change your behavior
“Even if by some miracle they did, you’d still have complete control over your body. As long as you’re alive, nothing can override your own control.” “Well… that’s ridiculous. I think he’s being hacked.” She set the phone down and started yelling at her husband. And then— click—she hung up. Every night I had one of these calls. It was a ridiculous notion, like someone fearing that a hand could reach out and grab the sun, and then snuff it out in a bucket of water. That was the true beauty of the O-Chip: a concept that anyone could understand, but no one but Caldwell (its creator) had completely figured out. There was little (if any) resistance to the technology, beyond the daily paranoid caller, and those in N.O.W. (the No O-Chip World): a group trying to prevent more people from getting the O-Chip. Since approximately 80% of the population owned one, they were hands-down losing their battle. It’s the same with any new, revolutionary technology—there are always at least a few people who are wary of the product. When the microwave was invented, there were certainly people who worried it might catch fire or explode. People say they like change, but really, deep down, it scares them. “A little early to be day dreaming, isn’t it, Coop?” a voice beckoned me—a real voice from the entrance to my cube. “It’s only 9 pm! Your workday just started!” I spun around to see Lila’s beautiful form. She had dark red hair like ripe cherries, long and flowing down her back and over her shoulders. Her eyes were blue oceans, and her voice could calm a storm. She wore a thin, yellow blouse that left little to the imagination. However, despite my deep attraction to her, Lila was a friend who could never be anything more. “What’s going on?” I asked, running my fingers through my hair, feeling the tiny bump where my own O-Chip had been embedded. “I’ve got something for you.” Lila said, her tone less friendly and more serious than before. I followed the smooth curve of her arm, past the dip in her wrist and over her small hands to glance at what she was holding. In her hand she held a metallic necklace. It was the thickness of a pencil with a small speaker in the center, crested with the name SyCo. It looked damaged, scorched, foreboding. “Maybe we should talk in my office,” she suggested. I tapped my fingers twice, checking the time on my heads up display. My break wasn’t for another hour. “Maybe later? My boss wouldn’t be too happy if I wasn’t taking calls,” I said. She started tapping her fingers on my desk, averting her gaze, visibly unsettled. “Coop, this is beyond me. I need your help. I just… I need to talk to someone about it,” she said. In all the years I had known her, Lila had never been like this. She was fearless. Her behavior was so unusual that it sent a chill down my spine to see her this way, raising the hairs on my arms like a thousand tiny soldiers standing at attention.
“What is it?” I laughed, trying to dismiss it. Her gaze lowered again to the translator necklace in her hand. I reached out to take it from her, and examined it more closely. These translator necklaces were special devices, built to work with the O-Chip. They effectively decimated the language barrier. The wearer could think in one language and the device would speak in a replica of the wearer’s own voice, but in whatever language it was set to translate. This particular device was severely damaged, charred, and covered in clear glue. It was slapped on haphazardly, as if someone was trying to plug the holes for the speaker. “So? What happened?” “I’m sure you already heard about Emma’s husband, right?” she asked. The whole office knew. He was only forty, but had passed away of a heart attack in his bedroom. Emma had come home from a business trip to find him lying, dead, in their bed. They had met during the Last War. He was a soldier and she was a local girl. They got married and she came here with him, without knowing a word of the local language. But with the necklace she was able to communicate perfectly. “Yes, I was very sorry to hear it. Is this her translator?” Lila nodded. “Well, there’s something she hasn’t shared with anyone—something she only shared with me,” she said. I could feel a heaviness in Lila’s voice, like she was making a confession, like she needed to get this out. She paused, breathing out, turning to face the window but not looking at anything in particular. It was as if, somehow, some form of peace existed beyond the glass, out in the lively city streets. “That night, after they had carted off her husband’s body, she went into her bedroom and her translator necklace started… talking…” There was a long pause as she struggled to say it. “It was her husband’s voice.”

The Guinea Pig Diaries: Part Three By Penelope Rollinson In this month’s episode of the Guinea Pig Diaries is the follow on part of the third chapter "My New Home". Henrietta Harriet is learning how to cope with the Bengal in the household and the other challenges that are surfacing. She is determined to win through and gain the total love and affection of her human, but first she has to learn how to manipulate and control the Bengal to gain the dominance she wants.
My New Home I decided to take a back seat in my relationship with my human. I didn’t want to anger or make the Bengal jealous. Penny had told me that Poppy’s pedigree name was Raysun Fudge. I had never heard a more embarrassing or stupid name than that! My human always called her Poppykins or Poppy Popsical. Really! I could think of names that were far more suitable for her, but they were all very rude! A few days after being introduced to the Bengal, she stood by my hutch in the garage, making strange faces. I wondered what was going on, until I heard her thoughts in my head. What a strange experience that was. You expect to hear someone talking to you with your ears, but no, her voice was inside my head. The Bengal was talking to me using thought transference and I found I could also send my thoughts back to her. It was a great way of conversing. Unfortunately, she only wanted to order me about and dominate me, like she was dominating my human. The first thing she said was, ‘‘I am a pedigree Bengal and as an F7 Bengal you have to know your place. You are never to call me Poppy, my name is Raysun Fudge.’’ Really, she was so snobby in those early days, I was at the end of my little tether..
I didn’t know what an F7 Bengal was, so nervously, using thought transference, I asked, ‘‘Exactly what is an F7?’’ I was being daring and a bit irresponsible asking Raysun Fudge such a question. She took great delight in boasting, ‘‘An F1 has the Asian leopard as its parents and is extremely dangerous and a lot bigger. The F2 has the Asian leopard as its grandparents and the F3 has the Asian leopard as its great grandparents. And so on.’’ This knowledge made me look at Raysun Fudge in a new light, and I thought, ‘You are not as dangerous and powerful as an F1, so I might just have a chance to trick you into submission.’ I felt I was in a precarious position, but it was imperative I got to know this Bengal and find out its weaknesses if I was to end up holding a special place in my human’s heart. I had to be able to manipulate and befriend this animal before I fully understood Penny. The Bengal had been with Penny for the past eight years and in those eight years there had been no other animal brought into the house to challenge its dominance and control. When I say control, I mean control. In order to control Penny and her emotions it sprayed pee everywhere and anywhere, ruining Penny’s furniture and carpets, if it didn’t get its own way. But unbeknown to the Bengal, I saw a way into Penny’s heart and affections that this animal in its dominance had completely overlooked. The Bengal was aloof and detached, it demanded love and obedience, but gave nothing in return. It had been a breeding Queen for the first five years of its life and that could explain the lack of affection it gave Penny. I could see Penny craved the love a normal cat would give her
. She wanted to pick Poppy up to cuddle her, but the Bengal in its aloofness would not allow that physical contact and if rules were breached, the punishment was pee sprayed over the nearest object! Studying this odd behaviour from the Bengal, I could see my way into Penny’s heart forever and I loved and relished every moment that Penny picked me up to cuddle and kiss me. I always responded in a very loving way, purring loudly and licking her hand. I was a very responsive and willing little guinea pig. Due to my hutch being in the garage, I didn’t have much to do with the Bengal in those first three weeks. But I saw an awful lot of the Dark Human Shapes, who used to trip Penny up when she came into the garage. They would knock over the bag of guinea pig muesli and try to knock my bowl of muesli out of her hand, so she would have to sweep up the mess. I couldn’t understand why they were doing such stupid things. Why were they trying to annoy and upset my human? One of them used to whisper things in Penny’s ear when she was cuddling me or cleaning out my hutch. They were telling her to do bad things and suggesting that bad things were going to happen to her. I was shocked and I didn’t like their behaviour.
Penny couldn’t see them and I wanted to protect her, but how could I do that while I was also dealing with the Bengal? It was becoming far too much for me, I was just a little guinea pig, but I knew I had to protect my human. I often thought, ‘Why did I have to come into a household like this? There must be normal households out there somewhere.’ But loving Penny as I did, I knew I had no choice but to help her find a way out of this situation. After three weeks of being in the garage, Penny bought me an indoor cage, which she placed in the lounge next to the patio doors. I loved looking outside and seeing all the birds and squirrels in the garden. I was fascinated and spent hours watching them on the bird table eating the nuts, seeds and other goodies Penny put out for them. The Bengal was furious I was in the house, she hadn’t liked seeing me in the garage, and now I was in the house that was even worse in her eyes. I wasn’t too worried about the Bengal at that point, but I would have been, if I had known what she was going to start doing. I was more worried about the Dark Human Shapes in the lounge and the kitchen. I had thought they were only in the garage, but in here their foul scent was stronger and sometimes I had to stuff hay up my nostrils to block out the stink. Penny used to laugh and say how cute I was, so I got into the habit of stuffing hay up my nostrils just to make her laugh. I didn’t really want to make that a permanent feature of my desirable self, so I tried phasing it out, a day at a time. I watched the Dark Human Shapes everyday and realized the only reason they were here, was to upset Penny. I was cross with them and I wanted to get rid of them more than I wanted to get rid of the Bengal. I tried shouting abuse at them but they ignored me and if I squeaked too much, a dark hand would come through the bars of my cage and hit me from one side of the cage to the other, not a nice experience. I tried to ignore them after that. There was something else floating around the house that had not been in the garage, a massive white Glowing Being with wings. This was a strange household and I was worried about my sanity living here? Would I go insane? My last human had not had any Dark Human Shapes or Glowing Beings in their house or the pet shop.
I watched the Glowing Being trying to restrain and stop the Dark Human Shapes, but it was an impossible job and in the end he had to change tactics and protect Penny by wrapping his wings around her, so she couldn’t hear their whispers. This also meant they could no longer trip her up or get her to drop things.
I was overwhelmed with emotion, Mike had said I was a very spiritually advance guinea pig. I felt puffed up with pride and importance and decided I had to ask Mike about the Demons. ‘‘Why are the Demons in Penny’s house? My last human didn’t have any in their house or the pet shop.’’
I was in awe of this Glowing Being and after I had been in the lounge for two weeks he introduced himself to me, ‘‘Hello Henrietta Harriet, I am the Archangel Michael.’’ In my squeaky guinea pig language I asked him what an Archangel was and he seemed to understand what I was saying, because he answered. ‘‘An Archangel is a celestial being who is working for the Creator of our Universe, some people know the Creator by the name of God or Allah or Jehovah. There are many other names for the Creator, it just depends what religion a human follows.’’
‘‘Demons are evil beings that work for the devil and only a black magician, who works on the dark side, can conquer them up. They came into Penny’s life when she was having healing from someone. This person had been healing people for years, not to help them, but to get into their lives to steal from them. Penny is not the only one that person attached Demons to. Did you know that Penny even has Demons inside her car? They have caused her to have accidents and one of them has been working on her engine to cause breakdowns and oil leaks. These Demons can change shape whenever they want, at the moment they are choosing to take on the human form.’’
“I watched the Dark Human Shapes everyday and realized the only reason they were here, was to upset Penny.”
I was upset and I wanted to know how I could help Penny. I loved her and didn’t want her to have such evil things in her house. Mike said, ‘‘All we can do is wait for her to understand the messages I am sending her, so she will seek human help to remove these Demons and to remove the influence of the healer, who is still draining her of energy and infiltrating her dreams to send her messages to cause her to make the wrong decisions in life.’’
I looked at Archangel Michael, and decided I would call him Mike for short and I told him that I believed in God and his son Jesus, and how I had prayed asking them to get Penny to come back and rescue me from the pet shop. Mike laughed, and said, ‘‘You are an intelligent little guinea pig and I know you are worried about the Dark Human Shapes in the house and the garage, they are Demons and they can be very dangerous, but don’t worry, I am here to help Penny. I am sending her telepathic messages to encourage her to find professional help to remove them.’’ I looked puzzled. I didn’t know what telepathy was and Mike said, ‘‘Telepathy is the art of sending a thought from my mind into the mind of Penny, she will then hear that thought in her mind.’’ I squeaked, ‘‘That’s how Poppy and I talk, but I call it thought transference.’’ ‘‘Well done, I can see you are a very spiritually advanced guinea pig to be able to converse with a cat in that way.’’

The Ghosts of Baraboo Inn By Julie Belschner
Thieves, farmers, murderers, gunslingers, Native
“I got into this through my dad,” Dyar said. “I went on an investigation at Edinburgh Manor (in Iowa) and was really awed. I saw an older lady and a small child, a girl, holding hands down a hallway. Later on the lady who owns the place said they often see an older lady and hear a child.”
Sometimes the deep energy of those emotions seems to reach out to today’s intruders – and sometimes it seems to take on physical form – even intelligent form. Is it real? Could it be simply residual energy? Could there be a spirit – a thinking, intelligent spirit or shade? Who could those inflicted by confusing happenings call?
“I was out helping to search for a missing person,” Wagner said. “I went home and lay down and suddenly had visions. I saw a person running across a bridge. I knew where it was. And that’s where the person was found. That intrigued me. I started doing research; I wanted to know the truth. I started looking into the paranormal field. The experience made me want to be part of a paranormal group. I located Courtney’s dad online and met with him.”
Americans, shopkeepers, girls of the night, good folks, evil folks, railroad tycoons, gamblers and drinkers – all and more are the weavings in the web of Wisconsin history. Happiness, fear, joy, dread, excitement and rage are woven into the very beams of ancient structures that dot the hills, hanging on stubbornly into a third century.
Who you going to call? Not exactly Ghost Busters, but close. The Paranormal Investigators of Sauk County is a child group of the parent Sauk County Paranormal Society – literally. Derek Wagner and Courtney Dyar, both of Reedsburg, run the former group. Dyar’s dad, Thomas, runs the second organization. Courtney Dyar met Wagner through a paranormal investigation, and the two decided they didn’t want to always be holding onto Dad’s coat tails. They partnered to form their own organization more than a year ago.
Today the investigators use a wide array of tools. “This isn’t a cheap hobby,” Wagner said with a wince.
An EMF meter measures electromagnetic field fluctuations. An EVP – Electronic Voice Phenomena – recorder creates a record of all noises during an investigation, including, hopefully, any spirit who has something to say. Prevailing theory is … well, is wide and varied. One theory is that spirits can manipulate electronic energy – because they are energy themselves – to create words. Another theory is that EVPs are nothing but subconscious projections of investigators. Another theorizes they are voices from another dimension. Wagner and Dyar also use what is called a “spirit box” or an Ovilus, which has an onboard electronic dictionary. The theory is ghosts can pick words by using a word’s associated energy signature. The investigators also use camcorders, cameras, a DVR system, a laser grid, holy water, sage, flashlights and more. The group is ready to move at any time on reports anywhere in the South Central Wisconsin region – or even further away. They never charge for their services. “We’re here to help people, Wagner said. “It’s not like they can call the police if they have problems like this. If someone has no one else to turn to, that’s why we’re here.”
“We get out there as quickly as possible,” Dyar said. “Our very first case was in Baraboo. It turned out to be a nasty guy. There was a child in the house, and we didn’t want a child to get hurt. The spirit was causing night terrors for the child. After our investigation, everything quieted down a lot. Sometimes the spirits just want attention. They want you to know they’re there. We counseled the client after the investigation to then ignore the spirit, whatever it did. She’s become a good friend.” Just like in the material world, Dyar said, they can’t make a spirit do something it doesn’t want to do. “Sometimes we think they’re here because of unfinished business,” she said. “They’ll go when they’re ready. We can calm them down sometimes. What we do depends on the place.” The group uses varied expert consultants when warranted – including a certified psychic and Deacon Tom, a priest at Sacred Heart church. “We use holy water,” Dyar said. “We believe in Heaven and Hell – ghosts are in what I guess you could call Purgatory. In some cases ghosts will mess with you, but those are very rare cases. Those are high-energy spirits. Running into demons is just not going to happen. Probably.” They have an online alliance with paranormal groups all over the world – as far away as Germany and Australia. “In two weeks we went from 500 ‘friends’ to 1,000,” Dyar said. “I couldn’t believe there were so many paranormal groups,” Wagner said. “I was shocked.” Recently the investigators headed to the Old Baraboo Inn in Baraboo – a location notorious for its haunts. Owner BC Farr said the saloon was built in 1864, as a saloon and brothel. “It’s one of the oldest buildings in Baraboo,” Farr said. “It was built before the train depot. This was the halfway point between Minneapolis and Chicago for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. There was a huge switching yard; that’s all gone now. Dillinger and Capone hung out here. Gangsters were beat up here. It was called the Bender House – Bender was from Austria or Germany – but he died in 1867, and after that it was known as Ma Bender’s.
“Travelers came into town on foot, on horseback, by train and by stagecoach. There were still Indian Wars here when this was built. This was the Wild West.” Farr said he used an old, outside railing to create today’s stage railing. “The ‘ladies’ would hang on the rail outside,” he said. “Cowboys would clip by on their horses and pick which lady they wanted. I built the stage to fit the railing.” He said the railing is haunted – as is most of the building.
“A lot of people died here,” he said. “Illness, suicides, gunshot, hangings, abortions. Some of the ‘ladies’ would have their children, too, though. We have a lot of EVPs of women singing lullabies. I think some of the children are still here. We have gangsters here. I dressed as Clyde Barrow for Halloween, and when I walked to the back bar, we have an EVP of someone saying, ‘Hey Gus, look at him. Now he’s one of us.’ Bang. Bang. ‘Look you got him.’ ‘Yep, he’s down.’”
“Derek and Courtney made me understand how spirits are not there to harm me. It’s their house, and they want to be there, is all. It made me more relaxed to know they’re not there to harm me. They slam doors sometimes and turn on lights. There’s a little boy in the basement, I think, who makes me feel sad. I cry while I’m doing laundry. But (Courtney and Derek) coming and helping me not to be afraid has made a big difference. It’s helped my son. They talked through it with him. There’s also a dog. My boyfriend’s dog refuses to leave his side when he’s here.” Also on hand at the inn was Breanna Stilson of Baraboo, also grateful to the investigative team.
Farr said his roots go back to Baraboo’s founding fathers. He knows Baraboo’s history. His dad owned the Longbranch Saloon, so he knew about working in a bar. He often went to the Old Baraboo Inn. A huge fire in 1998 damaged much of the old place. “I was the last guy out the door that night,” he said. “Ten years later, I’m the one who cleaned it up.” After acting as caretaker several years after the fire, he said he felt like he was supposed to be in the building. He eventually bought it. “I started thinking of what I’d do to make this a bar,” he said. “It just appeared to me. I heard rumors it was haunted, but people always talk like that. But then when I first took it over, stuff was being all moved around. The doors were all locked. I thought, ‘Am I working too hard?’ I thought maybe other people had keys, so I taped all the doors to find out which one they were using. None of the tape was moved. And there was no other way in or out. Lights would come on and go off in the basement. Tools disappeared and then reappeared a few minutes later. I’d hear a honky tonk piano playing – but that piano is gone. I would yell, ‘Knock it off!’ They were just messing with me. So I started talking to them. “A spirit named ‘Cowboy’ sits in the back bar. I think he’s a protector of the place. I ask if he wants a beer and he says, ‘Yep, thank ya.’ I think most hauntings are untimely deaths. They just weren’t ready to go.”
The investigative crew set up their equipment that night all over the main floor at the inn – but Farr refused to let them go down the basement. He said insurance wouldn’t allow it. He had night-vision video recorders set up on the lower level, and said everyone could see the basement that way. “Orbs” showed constantly on the monitors – said to be indications of ghostly movement, or dust – but the orbs refused to appear on any still-camera shots. If ever a building should be haunted, that is the one. But nothing showed on any recordings that night. Nothing showed on any photos. Paranormal Special Investigator Baire – a sensitive Tibetan Mastiff who is normally the newspaper’s mascot – saw a couple of spots of interest. He avoided a spot on the saloon floor more than once – a spot Farr said is where a hanging took place. Baire stared at and sniffed at a corner of the bar, where Farr said something bad took place. The old building is fascinating, but any lingering spirits didn’t seem interested in the human or canine intruders.
“I started having drawers open, doors open and my dog would growl,” she said. “I got choked in my living room. We had a priest come to bless the house, but that made whatever was there really mad. Derek and Courtney came in and saged the house; that helped some. They did an investigation and said there was a very malevolent spirit in the attic.” “It was something evil and possessive,” Dyar added. While the investigation quieted things down for a bit, Stilson has moved away from the location. “I’ve been fine since then,” she said. Packing up equipment after the disappointing investigation at the Old Baraboo Inn, Dyar and Wagner mentioned that Reedsburg Mayor Dave Estes had taken them last summer on investigations to parks in Reedsburg – one of which had been a German POW camp during World War II. After discussions, messages on Facebook and phone calls, Estes offered to open the basement of the Reedsburg City Hall for a new investigation.
Keylie Johnson of Baraboo was along on the investigation. She became friends with the investigators after calling them for help.
“There’s never been an investigation there,” Estes said. “Who knows what we’ll find?’
“For a while I couldn’t sleep in my bedroom (at home),” she said. “It felt like I was being watched. My 4-year-old son told me there was a red-haired man in his bedroom. He told me the man was being mean to his toys. And he said there was a ‘shadow’ man in the bathroom. He told me the shadow man wanted the door to be shut because he needed his privacy. .
Who knows indeed. It would be a fascinating, astonishing and fruitful night as the investigative team stepped back in time in the heart of Reedsburg

Interview with Psychic Surgeon Andy Porter By Sherrie Wilkolaski
Andy Porter is a Psychic Surgeon that specializes in working to
clear and remove negative energies from people and places. His unique skillset has been augmented by an ability to trance channel his spirit guide called "Chen". He works with people from all over the world and endeavor to offer a genuine helpful service to all clients. He is an author and regular contributor to Paranormal Galaxy Magazine. Here is what he had to say during a recent interview:
Sherrie Wilkolaski: How did you first encounter the paranormal world? Andy Porter: My first encounter was rather invasive to my whole life. In summary, I had never been interested in the spirit world, aliens, or any alternative woo woo, but after moving into a haunted house, my eyes were opened and I was forced to embrace the spiritual side of life.
SW: Did you ever have a paranormal experience that changed your life? Describe it for us. AP: Oh yes, didn’t I. After meeting my wife to be, I moved into a new house. After a short period of time, approximately four weeks, we started to notice things didn't feel at all right. There were noises at night, things had a habit of disappearing especially my car keys, and we noticed the hairs on our arms and body standing to attention as we walked through the house. Not to mention lights going on and off on their own, and the heating also finding a will of its own even when the timer was turned off at the main control switch. One night whilst sleeping, I came to and found the room felt really cold. Upon opening my eyes, I instantly became aware that all was not well in my bedroom, the foot of my bed was two feet off the floor and I was looking at the wall behind the headboard instead of the ceiling. This was the first time in my life I felt what can be described as “real terror”. I screamed put me down and get out of my room and with that the bed dropped onto the laminate floor with a crash and the temperature of the room instantly increased to its normal level as the room felt like a freezer door had been opened. I lay in bed with the duvet over my head and the light on shaking all night long not sure if it had really happened or if I had be dreaming and if it was a dream I didn’t want another one. As sunlight streamed through the windows in the early hours of the morning I could clearly see my bed was no longer in the same position in the room and the bed casters were off to one side.
This experience changed my perception of the world and most certainly changed my life permanently.
SW: What are you most passionate about in your field of Psychic Surgery? AP: Helping to work with clients that are suffering in one way or another. From a personal perspective, I enjoy tinkering with cars, well Saabs in particular, walking, and generally enjoying time with my family and around nature.
SW: You are an author, what inspired you to become a writer? AP: Like me, it’s random and un-organized. I just have a topic or theme and then start writing. The writing seems to take on a life of its own. I am a firm believer of just do it and see what happens as opposed to over planning things and making them more complicated than they need to be.
SW: Why did you chose to write about the paranormal? AP: It’s a fascinating subject and is different for all of us, plus it’s the one area that science can’t prove or dis-prove. We all love the unknown and I think this is one of humanity’s greatest traits.
SW: Describe your work for readers? AP: My work falls loosely under the category of Psychic Surgery which means nothing to most regular people. In summary with the help of my guide “Chen” we perform surgical operations on the etheric body, and these changes are then mirrored back into the physical body after a week or so. My specialty at the moment seems to be detaching negative energies from a person’s etheric field. My book “Chen’s Spiritual and Psychic Teachings “ covers other topics not easily found in many Spiritual publications such as the planetary changes happening on earth today, extra-terrestrial involvement in human evolution, psychic protection, negative energies and entities, the alien agenda, crystals, meditation and many more topics. My guide “Chen” has channeled much of the information for this book and it makes very interesting reading.
SW: Do you have any favorite art pieces, books, movies, or television shows that deal with paranormal?
SW: If you were stranded on an island, name one person and three items you would bring with you and why.
AP: I like many sci-fi films and really have a connection with "The matrix and also fallen, (1998) with Denzel Washington". “The Matrix” I feel provides a great insight into the way we live in that many people are living a completely different reality to others around them.
AP: Stranded on an island, so that person with be my wife and best friend Jayne, and as for items that's easy: the internet, a laptop and a deck chair.
“Fallen” is a real reflection of how my own life seems to be working to remove negative energies that co-exist in this dimension. I normally advise many of my clients to watch "Fallen" as this gives a great understanding of how negative energies work through many people.
SW: Who is one person you look up to the most? AP: Good question, to be honest I try to live my life myself and try really hard not to get caught wishing I could be like someone else. For that reason I don’t really watch the TV but prefer to spend my time surfing the web and watching documentaries. I don’t ever remember looking up to anyone else as such.
SW: If you could walk in someone else's shoes for a day, whose shoes would you pick? AP: I would love to walk in the shoes of my wife and see what it's like to live with me ha ha. We all live our own lives and as such have different realities.
SW: How do you enjoy your free time? AP: Free time, ha ha really funny...I live my life at a fast pace and seem to always be trying to get more done that time allows, but yes I like tinkering with cars, Saabs in particular. Also looking around antique shops with my wife Jayne is good fun.
Since I have a habit of getting bored quickly, the internet and the laptop will keep me engaged with what's going on in the real world, not the corporate media. The deck chair will provide my comfort.
SW: What does Paranormal Galaxy Magazine mean to you? AP: Paranormal Galaxy is a great medium for anyone interested in the paranormal to have fun reading and also a learning gateway. When I was going through my spiritual awakening, I looked everywhere for this kind of medium and struggled to find anything that lived up to the remit. That's one of the main reasons I wanted to be a part of this new magazine as I feel my life experiences and understandings may help others on their spiritual path. It's a great mag and it's got a real diversity of authors which can only mean the reader really gets a broad range of topics to read. They will therefore need to engage their own discernment around what works for them and what does not. To learn more about Andy Porter go to http://www.andyporter.co.uk/
