1982 In 1982, an enchanted castle with
goblins, geniuses and fantasies, the majestic and flowery “Jardín Infantil Bilingüe el Ruiseñor y la Rosa” was born in the “Villa del Río” neighbourhood in the south-west of the city of Bogotá. Name brought from the fable of Oscar Wilde.
1985 On 26 April 1985, the school
received official approval of the primary school, with resolution 01827. Being so, due to its bilingual character and identity with the English culture, the school assumes the name “Colegio Bilingüe Reino Unido”.

1992 This is how the baccalaureate
or basic secondary school was created in a project that increased year by year, until it received the approval of the 9th grade, on October 21, 1992.
1994
With Resolution No. 2401. Later, with Resolution No. 4583 of 26 October 1994, the first promotion of high school graduates was established.

2012 In 2012 the school will celebrate its
30th anniversary, years that with much effort and dedication have managed to keep the CBRU community at a much higher level thanks to their experience and commitment to the education of our students.
2013 As of 2013, the school has committed
itself to the EFQM European Model of Excellence, which has become an instrument of change planned for institutional development, focused on the people who guide the organisation along the path of quality.

2016 In the year 2016 we start the phase of COMMITMENT TO R4E EXCELLENCE, which allows us to ratify once again the quality and commitment to education that has characterized us throughout all these years.
2018 After starting the phase of “Commit-
ted to Excellence” 2 stars, in the year 2018, we received the International Certification of Quality and Excellence, called: COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE 2 STAR.

2020 Additionally, in the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, we were
recognized by CAMBRIDGE ASSESMENT, as an International Examination Preparation Center, certification called: “PREPARE FOR CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH QUALIFICATIONS”. These certifications have demanded us more and more preparation for the achievement of quality results against the strategic objectives that the Institution proposes.
