Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a camp counselor? Do you have great ideas for crafts and games? Do you love working with younger children in an outdoor setting? Come and take the next step in your leadership journey and experience a new side of camp as a C.I.T. at Camp Cimarron. Registration includes CPR/First Aid training, weekly evaluations, C.I.T. shirt, entry into field trips and volunteer credit hours. Cimarron Day Camps Cimarron Youth Camp (6-12 Yrs)
Camp Cimarron is an outdoor program located at Bob Woodruff ParkSouth (BWS), offering a wide range of outdoor recreation activities for children. The camp provides opportunities to learn about the natural environment through fun nature hikes and environmental education activities including fishing, crafts, games, swimming, and other activities. Camp hours are 8am to 4pm with extended camp offered separately running from 4pm to 5:30pm. Campers may use the morning shuttle, but must be picked up from BWS at 4pm, unless utilizing extended camp. Children must be enrolled in the morning and evening shuttle services separately to be picked up and dropped off at Carpenter Park Recreation Center (CAR). Camp will be held at Oak Point Recreation Center (OAK) on inclement weather days. Registration closes at NOON the Friday before each camp starts.

Cimarron Youth Camp (6-12 Yrs)
The title of the course is COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING. The Course Code is 17004, and it meets at BOB WOODRUFF PARK SOUTH on MONDAY-FRIDAY from 8am to 4pm, begins June 3, meets 20 times, the instructor is STAFF and the fee is $99.

Camp Refund Policy
Full refunds will be granted when requested more than two weeks prior to the beginning of camp. Refunds requested less than two weeks prior to the start date will not be granted, unless the vacated spot is filled. If the spot is filled, a refund will be granted less a $5 administrative fee. Medical refunds requested prior to the start date of camp will be granted in full. An original doctor’s note must be provided at the time of the request for all medical refunds to be processed. Refunds will not be granted due to the following reasons: weather conditions, summer heat, sunburn, a camper’s behavior, absence from camp, camp assignments, or after the camp session or season. Parents are responsible for making sure children are registered in the correct camp program or session. If an error is found after registration please call and have it corrected prior to the camp season. Refunds will not be granted after the camp season has ended. Staff at all recreation facilities or the Parks and Recreation administrative office, 972-941-7250, can process all refund requests made within these guidelines. Cimarron Camp Shuttle-Morning-$9
The morning bus shuttle leaves from CAR at 7:15am and arrives on time at BWS by 8am. Any camper may register for the morning shuttle. The shuttle will run on time and will not wait for late campers.

The evening bus shuttle leaves from BWS promptly at 5:20pm and arrives on time at CAR by 6pm. Only campers utilizing extended camp may register for the evening shuttle.

Indoor Day Camps Camp Connections (6-11 Yrs)
Camp Connections is the perfect place to play in Plano for the summer and create lifelong memories. Camp will thrill your children’s creativity through arts and crafts, energize them with engaging outdoor games, and challenge them with multimedia styled activities. Discover different weekly themes throughout the summer to keep even the pickiest of tastes exploring new possibilities. Camp Connections registration is required to enroll in the Pre-Connections and the Post-Connections extensions, giving you many options to provide a fun and supervised environment for your children. Camp will be divided by appropriate age groups. A weekly e-mail newsletter will keep the entire family connected with the new and exciting activities that will take place each week for camp. Participants will utilize the indoor pool two days a week, so bring a swimsuit, towel and flip-flops. Campers will be swim tested before they will be able to access the deep end. Please send a sack lunch and drink for your children each day. All counselors are First Aid/CPR certified and have your children’s fun and safety as their top priorities. Enrollment for Pre-Connections and Post-Connections are listed as an add on when registering for each package. Pre-connections is available from 7:30am to 9am for $15 residents/$19 non-residents. Post-connections is available from 2pm to 5:30pm for $35 residents/ $39 non-residents. A liability waiver for all campers must be completed on or before the first day of camp.
Pre-Connections (6-11 Yrs)-$15
The 7:30am to 9am option is available for those early birds who need supervised activities prior to camp. The day will begin with light activities to wake up and start the day on the right foot. Please feel free to bring a light breakfast for your young one. It is not necessary to be at the facility right at 7:30. Take the time you need. Camp Connections registration is required to enroll. Enrollment for Pre-Connections is listed as an add on when registering for the package.
Post-Connections (6-11 Yrs)-$35
Keep the connection going with the 2pm to 5:30pm extension for campers to stay and play. Games and activities will entertain the afternoon hours away in a fun and supervised environment. Camp Connections registration is required to enroll. Please pack an afternoon snack for your camper. A late fee of $5 for every 15 minutes will be charged to parents when picking up campers after 5:30pm. Enrollment for Post-Connections is listed as an add on when registering for the package.

SUMMER CAMPS Adapted Recreation Camps Friendship Camp (11-15 Yrs)
Keep your child engaged this summer by signing up for Friendship Camp! This camp offers campers a variety of activities that enhance social skills, as well as vital life skills for individuals with a disability. Through our arts and crafts program, swimming, field trips and exercise activities, your child’s overall well-being will be enhanced, and they will have so much fun in the process. Come meet new friends and visit with old ones, and see how much fun Friendship Camp is. Campers must be able to follow directions and adhere to all rules. Camp is held at Oak Point Recreation Center, 6000 Jupiter Rd. Camp will not meet July 1-5.

Recreational, Social & Vocational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities Adapted Recreation programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities from 12 months to over 60 years of age. Adapted Recreation staff is composed of certified special education teachers, certified paraprofessionals, and trained volunteers, who are on hand for most programs to assist and encourage the individuals as needed. Any individuals requiring assistance with matters not directly related to the activities and needing assistance with toileting and feeding must bring a chaperone/aide. Teen Trek (16-22 Yrs)
Teen Trek is an exciting full-day adventure camp for teens and young adults with disabilities. Campers will be engaged in social and vocational activities such as learning to fill out job applications, etiquette activities and money management through budget activities. They will be on the move by participating in outdoor adventures visiting local attractions. Participants must be compliant and respond well to schedule changes should they arise. Teen Trek will make this a summer to remember. Teen Trek will meet at Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults 50+ (formerly known as the Plano Senior Center) 401 W 16th Street. Camp does not meet the week of July 1- July 5.

Students in this class will learn how to develop their own concept, mission, characters, scripts, storyboards, sound recordings, backdrops, and more by using a number of software applications to create animated shorts. Given the amount of time needed to animate, students will not create their own characters but use our cartoon characters to practice animation.
