Our sons face incredible challenges every day because of Duchenne. Perhaps their greatest challenge is ignorance. A family has shared with us an essay their high school son wrote that is incredibly strong, incredibly angry, and yet respectful to the ignorant teacher he had to deal with. When we talk about One Voice, we are not only speaking of working together as a community to advance research, advocacy, care, and education. We are celebrating the voice of all of our children who are not afraid to tell – even yell if need be – their story, to a world that so often just doesn’t get it. Thank you Anthony for sharing your voice with us.
