Historic Downtown Rockville. Headquarters to the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival since its start in 1957. Vendors of homemade and handmade items, primitives, and antiques gather on the courthouse lawn. Local non-profits serve a variety of foods each day. Free covered bridge maps are available at the two information booths with staff on hand to help. Tickets for the guided bus tours of covered bridges available for purchase at the information booths. Store front business around the square for additional shopping. Art gallery, historical museum, and the 1883 train depot open for a unique cultural experience.

FEB 26-27 & MAR 5-6, 2022 FEB 25-26 & MAR 4-5, 2023 At winter’s end, Parke County maple syrup producers begin “tapping the maple trees”. Wander along county roads, discovering world famous covered bridges and exploring maple syrup camps throughout the county. Maple Fair Headquarters is located at the Parke County 4-H Fairgrounds, one mile north of Rockville, on US Highway 41. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 pm. Pancakes are served all day with whole hog sausage and delicious golden maple syrup. While there, enjoy a selection of pure maple syrup, maple syrup candy, maple cookies, homemade crafts, home baked goods, jams and jellies and much more. red route turn-by-turn Leave south side of Depot parking lot, turn right onto High Street. At the stop sign, turn left on Bridgeton Road. Continue south on Bridgeton Road. OPTION : If you would like to view #12 Crooks Covered Bridge, turn left onto Wimmer Road (Gravel). Turn around at the Covered Bridge and return to Bridgeton Road. Proceed south on Bridgeton Road. As you are traveling on Bridgeton Road, you will see #11 McAllister Bridge on your left on County Road 400S (Gravel). The route does not turn here, however you can visit the bridge and return to Bridgeton Road, turn to Bridgeton Road, turn left stop sign and continue to the Black Route. Next you will see #10 Neet Bridge on the left. Stay on Bridgeton Road and you will come into Bridgeton and see #8 Bridgeton Bridge. The Bridgeton Bridge was burned by arson in 2005, and the bridge that you see now was built in 2006.

Continue the Red Route through Bridgeton. Turn right on High Banks Road. Turn right on Rosedale Road. As you are coming into Rosedale, you will see #16 Thorpe Ford Bridge. This bridge is not on the marked route, but you can find it by turning onto Cemetery Street in Rosedale. Staying on Cemetery Street, it becomes Catlin Road. Proceed to the bridge, turn around and return on Cemetery Street to the stop sign. Turn right to continue the route. Continue through Rosedale following the red arrow signs. You will see #18 Roseville Bridge on the right. The route does not turn here, but you can turn right and drive through the Roseville Bridge (Gravel) and #19 Harry Evans Bridge is just around the curve to the left on County Road 325W. Turn around there and return through the Roseville Bridge to the stop sign at Coxville Road, turn right to continue the Red Route.

Following the red arrow signs, you will continue on Coxville Road, cross US 41, and continue to #21 Mecca Bridge. This is the last bridge on the route and the remaining signs will bring you to US 41. Turn left and continue back to Rockville.

blue route turn-by-turn Leave the north side of the Depot parking lot, turn left on US 36 (Ohio Street). Go one block and turn right on Erie Street. Follow blue arrow signs to stop sign at Erie and Stark Street. Turn right on Stark Street, then left onto Marshall Road. Proceed on Marshall Road (Marshall Road becomes Main Street in Marshall). At stop sign of Main Street and State Road 236, go straight ahead under the Marshall Arch, staying on Main Street. Main Street will become Marshall Road again. At stop sign of Marshall Road and State Road 47, go across onto Narrows Road. Follow blue signs to #37 Narrows Bridge. Turn around at Henley Road and return to stop sign at Narrows Road and State Road 47. Turn right onto State Road 47. Turn right at Cox Ford Road. This will become a gravel road. Proceed to #36 Cox Ford Bridge. Cross bridge, still on Cox Ford Road. Stay on Cox Ford Road to #35 Wilkins Mill Bridge. Cross bridge. At stop sign at US 41, turn right and proceed to County Road 1050N, turn left. Continue on 1050 N to Tangier. Just past 400 W, turn around at Tangier Community Building. When exiting from Tangier Community Building, turn left onto 1050 N. Continue east on 1050 N. At the intersection of 1050 N and B’Dale Road, turn right. At this point you will see both blue and yellow route signs. B’dale Road will show two options. Turn left, staying on blacktop on B’dale Road. Stop sign at B’dale Road and 250W, turn right on B’dale Road. Proceed to #28 Jackson Bridge. Stay on B’dale Road into Bloomingdale. B’dale Road will become Main Street in town. At the “T” go left then right on Broadway. At 4-way stop turn left on Hilltop Road. At stop sign at Hilltop Road and US 41, turn right onto US 41. Proceed south on US 41. You will see #13 Catlin Bridge on the right at the Parke County Golf Course. Proceed into Rockville to end your tour.

Leave the north side of the Depot parking lot, turn left on US 36 (Ohio Street). At the second stop light by the courthouse turn right on Market Street. Curving to the left, Market Street becomes Howard Avenue. At the stop light, drive across US 41.

Leave south side of Depot parking lot, turn right onto High Street. At the stop sign, turn left on Bridgeton Road. Continue south on Bridgeton Road.

Howard Avenue becomes Strawberry Road. Following yellow arrow signs, turn right on 10 O’clock Road. At 4-way stop sign, go straight ahead on 10 O’clock Road. At stop sign turn right on Tow Path Road to #26 West Union Bridge. Proceed on Tow Path Road then curve right on 525W.

Howard Avenue becomes Strawberry Road. Following brown

Turn right on 790N (beginning of gravel road area) then left at 450W, then right on 800N to #29 Marshall Bridge. Proceed on 800N then turn left on English Road. At stop sign, turn left on 900N to #30 Rush Creek Bridge. Proceed to stop sign (end of gravel road area). Turn right on 425W. At next stop sign turn right on 1050N.

Stay on 1050N, then turn right on B’dale Road. At this point you will see both yellow arrow signs and blue arrow signs. B’dale Road will have two options at the “T”. Turn left on B’dale Road. Stop sign at B’dale Road and 250W, turn right on B’dale Road to #28 Jackson Bridge.

Continue on 40N, turn right on Arabia Road to #22 Phillips

Stay on B’dale Road into Bloomingdale. B’dale Road becomes Main Street in town. At the “T” go left then right on Broadway. At the 4-way stop sign turn left onto Hilltop Road. At the stop sign at Hilltop Road and US 41, turn right onto US 41. Proceed south on US 41. You can see #13 Catlin Bridge on the right at the Parke County Golf Course. Proceed into Rockville to end your tour.

sign. Turn right on 100S - McAdams Road. Stay on McAdams. As you approach Mecca, McAdams Road becomes Apple Road. At the stop sign, continue straight ahead on Wabash Street to #21 Mecca Bridge. Turn around here and return to on Wabash Street (becomes Mecca Road). At this point you will see brown and red arrow signs. Proceed to the stop sign at US 41. Turn left and return to Rockville. *** If you wish to see the Railroad Foot Bridge that crosses the Wabash River, continue on Washington Street. It will dead end to the right at the bridge.

OPTION : If you would like to view #12 Crooks Covered Bridge, turn left onto Wimmer Road (Gravel). Turn around at the Covered Bridge and return to Bridgeton Road. Proceed south on Bridgeton Road. As you are traveling on Bridgeton Road, you will see #11 McAllister Bridge on your left on County Road 400S (Gravel). The route does not turn here, however you can visit the bridge and return to Bridgeton Road, turn to Bridgeton Road, turn left stop sign and con-tinue to the Black Route. Next you will see #10 Neet Bridge on the left. Stay on Bridgeton Road and you will come into Bridgeton and see #8 Bridgeton Bridge. The Bridgeton Bridge was burned by arson in 2005, and the bridge that you see now was built in 2006. After crossing the concrete by-pass bridge in Bridgeton, turn left onto Hawkins Road. Turn left onto Mansfield Road. At stop sign at State Road 59, go across into Mansfield which is Mansfield/Mill Road. Turn right on Martin Road and go through #5 Mansfield Bridge. Turn right on 775E and then left onto 720S. See #6 Big Rocky Fork Bridge on left. Continue on 720S, then Turn left onto 1000E. Turn left onto Ferndale Road. Turn right onto State Road 59. Turn left onto New Discovery Road. Turn right onto Bridgeton Road. Continue back into Rockville. **Please note that the Black Route cannot be completed in it’s entirety during the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival, as the Mansfield Bridge is blocked off for pedestrian traffic only.**
