WELCOME On behalf of the Parker athletic department, I want to thank you for attending this evening’s Athletics Awards Night. Athletics are an integral part of our students’ overall educational experience. The lessons learned will last long after the scoreboard is turned off. I would like to acknowledge gratefully the hard work and dedication of the coaches and their student-athletes for a job well done. The spirit of Parker is alive and well, and I’m so proud of how our student-athletes represented us this year. Athletics is an important endeavor in any school community, and none of our success would be possible if it was not for my amazing team, who works tirelessly to make our program run. Thank you, John Herman, Missy Ross, David Glassey, Amani Walker, Niki Dehner, Kevin Ng, Jeff Rose, Emily Lotkowictz, and Rachel Galante. Collectively, they are the team behind the teams. I’m also very appreciative of the support I received from Ben Temple and Kevin Yaley. A very special thanks to all of the parents who photographed our teams in action, videotaped games, and organized senior nights, snack delivery, and other special events throughout the year. We have overcome a lot and have much to celebrate. I hope you enjoy tonight’s celebration of all the achievements of our student-athletes, on and off the field. Yours in Sports, Anthony Thomas, CAA Director of Athletics 2

FALL CHEER PARKER POWER ANNIKA CLARK Annika is the veteran Cheerleader that all studentathletes should aspire to be. With poise, she is disciplined, encouraging, ambitious, professional, and graceful. Her growth in skills and leadership over two years has excelled beyond measure. The value Annika adds to the Parker Cheer team is enormous.
MVP EMERSON HARDY Emerson has accelerated her skills in Cheer during the Fall season. Particularly in stunting, Emerson confidently accepted challenging stunts and performed them with grace. In addition, she provides advice and support for her new teammates.
COACHES: AZANTIA LIMON, MORGAN PICKETT
CROSS COUNTRY (XC) BOYS PARKER POWER BHAGAVAN CAROLLO We all know that league titles and CIF championships are not won by a single individual. In cross country, it takes a team of individuals giving it their all both in their daily training and, of course, on race day. More often than not, cross country races are won not based on who crosses the line first, but when they all cross the line with the final team victory resting in the hands of runner #5. If ever there was a model team member of Parker’s Cross-Country team, it is this year’s PP award winner, B. Carollo.
MVP KENAN PALA Unquestionably, Kenan is the most accomplished cross-country runner ever to wear a Lancer uniform. He literally shattered every record possible throughout his remarkable athletic career. He finished his storied cross-country career as the League Champion, the CIF Champion, the D5 State Champion, and the National Cross-Country Runner-Up. He will continue his running career in New Haven, Connecticut as a member of the Yale Cross-Country team. He very much deserves the honor of Parker’s MVP for XC.
COACHES: KEVIN YALEY, PH. D., RACHEL KAHAN, LUCIAN SALAZAR
CROSS COUNTRY (XC) GIRLS PARKER POWER CHIANA KELLY While she may not have been the first to cross the line on race day, she was always ready to give everything she could to not only push herself as far and as hard as she could go, but also to support all of her teammates through her quiet and sincere support. She worked as hard as any, never looking for excuses not to run, no matter how hard she knew the run might be. She is the consummate teammate and is so very deserving of the Parker Power Award.
MVP OLIVIA TEATES Olivia approached every practice and the start of every meet in the same way: ready to give it her all no matter how much it might hurt. Her times and performances at league meets and invitationals were as impressive as they were consistent. Even while battling a knee injury, she never used it as an excuse not to practice, push, and stay positive. She ran with heart and guts every time, earning her the title of the 2022 Girls Cross Country MVP.
COACHES: KEVIN YALEY, PH. D., RACHEL KAHAN, LUCIAN SALAZAR 2021-2022 SPORTS BANQUET

Parker Power recognizes an individual who exemplifies leadership and character while being a successful studentathlete and team player. Ben is a great player on the field, and more importantly, a great person off the field. He will do great things with his future as he has prepared himself for life. The Parker football coaches look forward to seeing him do big things.
The most valuable player is an individual who competes at a high level and has many intangibles. They must be committed, available, and have the qualities to lead. Every MVP has different qualities that they bring to the table. The word “special” gets used a lot when identifying an MVP. For this past season, the individual who fits these criteria is Christopher. He is an all-around athlete who stepped up in many cases for our team.

SAILING TEAM PARKER POWER AVA GUSTAFSON Ava was one of our top skippers all year long, and she was on track to be one of our starting skippers heading into our end-of-season championship regattas. A non-sailing injury (tip: avoid sledding!) put Ava on the bench, but that didn’t keep her from attending every single practice this spring, helping the coaches run races and take videos. Despite not sailing these last couple of months, Ava’s spirit and commitment were a huge part of our success on the water.
MVP PETER JOSLIN Peter has always been among the most talented and dedicated youth sailors in the nation. This year, he applied all of his energy and focus to leading our team to one of its best finishes in years, including a 2nd place finish at the Pacific Coast Championship against the most competitive A-Division fleet in the entire country. During his four years, he made every single sailor on this team, including himself, better. We wish him the best of luck sailing next year for the BC Eagles.
