ALTERNATE DRESS On occasion, students may be permitted to attend school in alternate dress. These days will be designated in the ways listed below and communicated in advance, and students must abide by the guidelines as specified. Concert Attire Students are expected to wear dress-up clothing for performing arts events (e.g., a white dress shirt and black chino-style pants or a solid black skirt or dress). Teachers will provide specific instructions. Dress-Up Days Students are expected to wear more formal clothing (e.g., a dress shirt with slacks and a tie or blazer or sweater, or a dress that follows the general appearance guidelines). Teachers will provide specific instructions. Spirit Days Students may dress to the theme or guidelines given for that day (e.g., Spirit Day, Halloween, Homecoming, Class T-Shirt Day, etc.). Students who choose not to participate must attend school in dress code attire. Free Dress Days Students may dress in clothes of their choosing (i.e., T-shirts, jeans, athletic shorts, athletic pants, cargo pants, sweatpants, and leggings). All clothing must be: • In good condition. • Free of unacceptable modifications. • Free of rips, tears, frayed edges, and fading. • Free from inappropriate images, graphics, and wording. • Long enough to fully cover the torso from shoulders to the waist (tops). • Long enough to reach the bottom of a student’s fingertips when the arm is fully extended (bottoms). • Covering all undergarments (tank tops must have a minimum width 1-inch strap). No sleepwear, loungewear pants or shorts, swimwear, slippers, or house shoes are permitted. Students who choose not to participate must attend school in dress code attire.
