Youth Athletics

Youth Athletics Classes taught by All Star Sports Instructors. All programs focus on learning teamwork and sportsmanship.

Adult/Tot Super Sports Jr. Program This program gives you and your child an opportunity to bond while learning a variety of sports. This class is great for improving simple motor skills such as catching, throwing, batting, shooting, passing, and running, and helps develop hand-eye coordination. Parents participate as we play soccer, basketball, hockey, t-ball, and football. This is a great intro to the All Star programs!

Super Sports Super Sports is for the all-around athlete or a child who wants to take a shot at different sports! Stay active and work on balance, motor skills, and hand-eye coordination while learning the rules of baseball, football, floor hockey, soccer, and basketball. We focus on a new sport each class and work on basic rules and mechanics as we play games that keep everyone moving.

Flag Football We simplify the jobs of each position so players understand the importance of teamwork. They learn the main positions, both offensively and defensively, by having the opportunity to play them all. Contact is minimal; there is no tackling. We focus on the proper mechanics of running pass routes, receiving, line play, taking hand-offs, and throwing. Basic rules and in-game know-how prepare them for game play. Players learn the game without the risk of major injuries in a safe environment.

Soccer This program keeps kids active and engaged both mentally and physically. Our lesson plan hides drills in fun games and uses association techniques that get down to the players’ level. We cover simple foot skills, dribbling, passing, shooting, basic rules, and even work on spreading the field. This class is a great base to prepare them for the next level of play.

Soccer Skills (levels changes with age) This program is designed with speed and agility drills to improve each player’s game by allowing for a more powerful shot, increased range on the field, and efficient change of direction. Basic skills including dribbling, shooting, passing, and spacing are covered. Players also learn the importance of each position and movement away from the ball through game situations. Equipment: Bring a water bottle, shin guards, and soccer ball (recommended size 4)

Resident Registration begins Monday, August 3

Basketball Our instructional program teaches the game of basketball at a basic level while keeping players active and engaged. Fun games teach the importance of each skill learned. Our foundation technique focuses on basic mechanics to build confidence, then adds larger challenges as we progress. Footwork is an extremely important aspect of the game. This means no players are sitting! We work on dribbling with each hand, passing and shooting technique, and understanding basic offense and defense.

Basketball Skills Our trainers focus on individual skills as well as team play. Each session begins with speed and agility drills that enhance each player’s ability to get up and down the court quickly, generate rapid change of direction, and create explosion to the basket. Sessions cover ball handling, proper shooting technique, footwork, and defensive/offensive strategies. Small-sided game play and competitions enable players to focus and work on skills.

T-Ball Our coaching technique provides basic building blocks in a fun, safe environment. Players keep moving and learning, even while in the dugout! Mechanics and hand-eye coordination are the keys to early success. Players become more confident as we work on the proper mechanics of catching, throwing, fielding, base running, and batting. This program prepares players for level II, t-ball, or coach pitch leagues.

Floor Hockey

Learn the game before the skates go on! Players learn the proper mechanics of stick handling, puck control, passing, and shooting. Offensive and defensive strategies are also covered while keeping the players active and engaged. Our instructors also focus on safety and rules, as contact is not allowed.

Speed & Agility This class helps increase your child’s speed and agility in their sport of preference. We help your child obtain that extra element to their game that lets them excel on the field or court. We focus on skills such as running form, start/stop speeds, directional change/acceleration, and fun games to improve overall skills.

IBA, partners in community baseball, believes in a holistic approach to teaching the game through blending skill development with character education. IBA teaches the game the right way! Young players gain confidence, improve coordination, and appreciate the joys of teamwork and sportsmanship during weekly games with age appropriate practices. Participants can sign up individually, as part of a small group, or as a complete 10-member team. Please contact IBA at trey@illinoisbaseballacademy.com with questions and requests. In these leagues, children learn a new skill and practice it with the help of IBA coaches. Teams play a controlled T-ball game and participate in a variety of fun baseball activities. Coaching is by staff members of IBA. They run practices and games. Parent volunteers are given the opportunity to assist after attending a brief pre-season clinic held by IBA. This game is played against a team next to them in the standings. This allows all teams to play their last game against a similarly skilled opponent, preventing an uneven match up. All other levels play a single elimination tournament. Evaluations: All players must attend only one of the two evaluation dates. Evaluations are used to divide teams evenly. If a player does not attend evaluations, they are not eligible for being selected in the draft. The absent player is placed on a team through a random lottery drawing. Coaches are not allowed to request a player who does not attend evaluations. No players shall move from team to team for any reason after the draft. Everyone who is registered is placed on a team.

Players who register for this league must attend the mandatory evaluations. Players who do not make this league are automatically placed onto a Western Conference (instructional) team. Since this league is more competitive, players are only guaranteed one quarter of playing time in the first half and there are free substitutions during the second half of games. In the Western Conference, all players are guaranteed to play at least half of the game. Class Level 42838 Grade 5 & 6 Grade 7 & 8 42839
