D Liberty Bell Mix

1. Choose plants with similar water, light, and fertilizer requirements. You may want to stagger the bloomtime of flowering plants, or choose those that open within a week or so of one another for a dazzling display of color! It’s always a good idea to include one evergreen or foliage-only plant, too, for longlasting color. 2. Vary the texture of your plants. For instance, fine, lacy foliage (Lotus berthelotti) shows to great advantage against large, glossy leaves (Ivy Geranium). 3. Add height to combo plantings with upright plants (Argyranthemum Butterfly), mass with mounding or clumping plants (Evolvulus), and interest with trailing, meandering plants (Bacopa) that fill in the bare spots and soften the edges with unexpected color. Example: You may choose to use a mixture of upright, mounding and trailing plants OR just mounding and trailing types. Or you may use upright and mounding, the combinations are endless. 4. Use color in two ways: complementary and contrasting. Complementary colors (those next to or near one another on the color wheel) create a soothing, harmonious effect. Contrasting colors (those opposite one another) jazz up the look, adding excitement and warmth to the combo. Example: A complementary combination would include yellow, orange, & red; OR purple, blue, & green. Example: A contrasting combination would include yellow and purple; OR blue and orange.

New guinea impatiens, x hybrida

Painted Paradise™ Orange

Paradise® Cherry Red

A classic flowering crop for landscaping, containers and hanging baskets. Today’s New Guinea Impatiens are more versatile in color, size and bloom power than ever before! Expect showy 2- to 2½-inch flowers nestled in vibrant foliage. Culture: Plant in a sterile, well-drained mix with a pH of 5.8 to 6.0 (Peat-lite mixes with 50% peat moss produce good results.) Keep moist, but avoid waterlogging the medium. Impatiens are moderate feeders; regular use of 20-10-20, 15-16-17 or similar fertilizer, is adequate. Provide light shade in late spring to summer or in regions with high light. Night temperatures of 60º to 65º F reduce stem elongation and promote flowering. A 4-inch pot with 1 plant finishes in 6 to 8 weeks. A 6-inch pot with 1 unpinched plant finishes in 9 to 10 weeks. A 10-inch basket with 4 to 5 unpinched plants finishes in 10 to 12 weeks. Painted paradise™. This is the only Kientzler New Guinea Impatiens series with variegated foliage. Large, fully rounded blooms — available in 7 colors — are borne on mounding plants. An excellent complement to the traditional Paradise series. Use in 4to 8-inch pots, hanging baskets or combination plantings. (PO) paradise® . This Kientzler New Guinea Impatiens series is practically an entire flower garden in itself. The huge, bright blooms are available in an incredible 22 colors. Mounding plants have a medium habit and are early to bloom. Paradise is excellent when paired with the Painted Paradise series. Grow these plants in hanging baskets and pots or use them outdoors in gardens or landscapes. (PO) super sonic™. Bred exclusively for landscaping use. An excellent performer in our trials, Super Sonics are vigorous growers capable of withstanding the rigors of the outdoors. Its 3-inch blooms — available in 22 colors — arrive slightly later than the Sonics. These mounding plants prefer partial sun and are well-suited for 6-inch containers. (PX, PK, PO, PS, QM)
