MESSAGE It is heartening to know that Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (HITK) is holding its First Convocation and celebrating its Foundation Day on September 5, 2017. A convocation ceremony is a special day in the academic life of students. It is also a red letter day for the institution and an occasion to look back and measure its achievements. I am told that HITK has taken rapid strides since its establishment in 2001. It has got autonomous status from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal and is accredited by NAAC and NBA. It is satisfying to note that it has been awarded ‘Best Engineering College’ in 2017 by ASSOCHAM. For young graduates getting their degrees in the First Convocation of HITK, I would like to say that this is the time to discover your life's destiny, so be adventurous, be spontaneous and dare to be different in the world. On the occasion of the First Convocation and the Foundation Day, I congratulate the management, faculty team and staff of the institute for the successes they have achieved and wish them all the best for their future endeavours.

M e s Message from Chairman, Kalyan Bharti Trust The first Convocation is a milestone in the history of any institution. For all of us in Kalyan Bharti Trust, this is a very proud moment as the first batch of graduates and post graduates after the Autonomous status of our Institute, formally get their degrees, it is a time of joy and achievement for them and, for most, a transition from student to employee; from a protected environment to the real world. Over the last few years, HITK has taken enormous strides. Today, we can boast of a truly world-class faculty and a vibrant campus. We have grown, not only in numbers, facilities, and the scope of our courses, but in stature and recognition. These have been put to good use in working towards a high quality research-based educational institution which works closely with industry and government to ensure relevance combined with social sensitivity. Already, in a short span of time the institution, through the work of both, its faculty as well as students, has demonstrated this in ample measure. The students with their knowledge, capability, values and work will shape the initial impression about the institute in the minds of employers. I have no doubt that they will fulfill this responsibility in a way that will bring success to them and pride to HITK. On this landmark occasion, I want to acknowledge the role and contribution of the Principal, faculty and staff of HITK. They have worked hard and through difficult times to make this day possible. My colleagues in the Board have contributed immensely and with great commitment. I congratulate the graduating students – and also their parents and guardians – on this happy occasion, and wish them the very best. We look forward to welcoming them back from time to time as alumni, potential faculty and recruiters, but most of all, as friends of HITK.
H.K. Chaudhary
s a g e Message from Chairman, Heritage Institute of Technology Graduation is not only an opportune time to share the excitement of one’s achievements with people you hold dear in your hearts but also a time of reflection. s a g e Message from Secretary, Kalyan Bharti Trust My warmest greetings to the Principal, officials, administrators, faculty members, advisers, teachers, parents and guardians of the graduates of HITK. If a man wants education, he can learn all he wants. But if a man wants to prove himself, a degree would be a tangible proof for everyone. However, degrees are only symbols, but education lasts a lifetime. Dear graduates, congratulations on this special day when you reap the fruits of your hard work and perseverance in the past years – all those nights of painstakingly studying your lessons and those days of putting your knowledge at work to be a step closer to your dreams. This day is a commemoration of your achievements, a time to anticipate future opportunities, and a season to embrace and thank people who have helped you in one way or the other to reach this finish line. With all the knowledge, skills, and values you acquired, you have prepared yourself for life-changing endeavors and infinite possibilities. As you journey through life, keep working hard because this is just the beginning of many challenges as well as future successes. Make your country proud of you and your accomplishments. Your mentors are confident that you will continue living up to become citizens of character and lofty ideals, and whose critical thinking and competency will take the country to path of global competitiveness and recognition. All the best in your next endeavor and congratulations!
