To Our “Investors”... Thank You!
A
lmost anyone of who knows of Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina knows it is a not-forprofit organization. The label “Presbyterian” itself is a giveaway, as it signifies PCSC’s existence as a ministry established and supported by Presbyterian churches and presbyteries across the state. Being a not-for-profit means that PCSC does not exist to turn a profit for owners or shareholders. Rather, it exists to serve the needs of older adults, putting “people” before “profits.” But this does not mean that we don’t have “investors.” On the contrary, we are profoundly grateful to have donors, both individual and churches, who have invested significantly over the last 60 years. There are many different ways our donors have invested to impact the well-being of those we serve over the years. Some give faithfully year after year to support charitable care through the Mother’s Day Offering or memorials. Some have stepped up at a time of special need to help build our campuses. Many churches include PCSC in their benevolence giving from their annual operating budget. Many folks leave a special legacy by naming PCSC in their estate plans. This issue of Community Connections is our annual Donor Edition. Inside, we recognize those who have made gifts or planned gifts to PCSC to help enrich the lives of older adults. PCSC thanks all who have shared their material resources to sustain PCSC’s ministry and carry it forward. As you read and enjoy this issue, we at PCSC hope that you feel warmed and gratified by the way that your gifts have been invested.

Clinton Community Wins Readers’ Choice Award
During the month of June, The Clinton Chronicle, Clinton’s local newspaper, asked its readers to vote for their favorite local businesses. Categories ranged from the best hotdog to the best hair stylist to the best place to buy tires. The residents and staff of The Clinton Presbyterian Community believe they are the best, but the question was, do others outside of the community know? You bet they do! Thanks to the people of Laurens County who voted, the Clinton Community received top honors in TWO categories:
Best Retirement Community and
Best Assisted Living For the past 43 years, The Clinton Presbyterian Community has served seniors of Laurens County and provided employment for many others. The community is honored that its passion for senior living has not gone unnoticed, and it proudly accepts these awards. www.PresCommunities.org
