Philanthropy Awards Winners of the years
Since 2011, Partners Albania is working to promote philanthropy in Albania. The philanthropic activity in Albania has taken various forms adapting to society’s development. To express gratitude and appreciation to the individuals and companies that support social causes in our society, Partners Albania organizes every year the open competition of the Philanthropy Awards, where all social actors in Albania and abroad are invited to participate with their proposals.
2011 Award for Business Entities Contributing at the National Level Winner: Vodafone Albania Motivation: For high Corporate Social Responsibility towards groups and individuals in need allover Albania, implemented through the Vodafone Foundation.
Award for Business Entities Contributing at the Local Level Winner: Raiffeisen Bank SHA Motivation: For the contribution given in support of development of education and culture in the city of Shkodra, through reconstruction of the concert hall of the High School of Arts “Prenkë Jakova”, support in infrastructure for the Faculty of Economics, University “Luigj Gurakuqi” and other social - educational activities.
Award for the Individual Contribution Winner: Mr. Asllan Sula Motivation: For the generous assistance provided to groups, families and individuals in need, and support for the preservation of culture and folklore in the city of Kruja.
Special Award “Pioneer of Philanthropy” Granted to Mr. Thoma Turtulli (posthumously) Motivation: For his outstanding philanthropic activities in the field of education, health and culture, among which was the construction and reconstruction of the library “ Thimi Mitko,” construction and equipment of the first hospital in Korça, construction of the Artistic Lyceum “Tefta Tashko Koço”and construction of the industrial school in Korça, from 1921 to 1937. 2012 Award for Business Entities Contributing at the National Level Winner: Albanian Mobile Communications (AMC) Motivation: For supporting the education and development of children with special needs in public education institutions in Albania.
Award for Business Entities Contributing at the Local Level Winner: Mrs. Mimoza Shuli, Hotel “Perla” Pogradec Motivation: For contributing to the promotion of local artisan business run by women in need in Pogradec, employment and improvement of the economic situation of their families, and for the continuous financial support to other vulnerable groups. Award for the Individual Contribution Winner: Mr. Ylli Sula Motivation: For the support given to the development and promotion of cultural and artistic values in Albania, through the initiative of organizing the annual KULT academy awards. Special Award “Pioneer of Philanthropy” Granted to Mr. Vangjel Zhapa (posthumously) Motivation: For his outstanding philanthropic activity in the fields of education, culture and sport among which, the financing of the first Albanian ABC book of Naum Veqilharxhi, and the contribution in spreading the Albanian language, the construction of 135 schools in south of the country and the construction of several public works in Albania and abroad, etc. Certificate of Appreciation Winner: Tirana Bank Motivation: For the valuable and humanitarian act of voluntary blood donation from its employees, in continuous support of the Blood Bank and Blood Transfusion Centre. Award for Business Entities Contributing at the National Level Winner: ABC Foundation Motivation: For contribution in support of social, economic and environmental development in the country, especially for the substantial assistance to the Roma community through reconstruction of the Transit Emergency Center, as well as support in infrastructure for environmental conservation and tourism development.
Award for Business Entities Contributing at the Local Level Winner: Albanian Mobile Communication Motivation: For contribution in support of vulnerable groups, through reconstruction of the premises of the House of Elders in Fier.
Award for the Individual Contribution Winner: Ms. Keti Bazhdari Motivation: For the special contribution in the field of art and culture in support of young artists and enriching the cultural life in the city of Shkodra, as well as for the continuous support of vulnerable groups. Special Award “Pioneer of Philanthropy” Granted to Mr. Anastas Avram Lakçe (posthumously) Motivation: For outstanding contribution to the Albanian language by supporting publications in Albanian, funding the opening of the first school in Korça and supporting the publication of one of the most remarkable works of Albanian literature from Renaissance “Bagëti e Bujqësi” of Naim Frashëri. Award for Business Entities Contributing at the National Level Winner: CREDINS Bank Motivation: For the continuous support in the fields of health, education, arts and culture, in particular for the significant assistance given for the reconstruction of hospitals, construction of chemical laboratories and the equipment with medical laboratories of the regional hospitals of Durrës, Shkodra, Vlora and the Central Military University hospital. Award for Business Entities Contributing at the Local Level Winner: ALB-STAR company represented by Mr. Sadik Ismailaj Motivation: For contribution in support of community in Fieri region, through investment in the infrastructure of several institutions and public areas in Fier and Patos, and support to people in need by providing financial aid and employment opportunities. Award for the Individual Contribution Winner: Mr. Emiliano Lule Motivation: For special contribution in building technological infrastructure for visually impaired people enabling their access to information and education, toward social inclusion and integration. Special Award “Pioneer of Philanthropy” Granted to Mr. Tef Pogu (posthumously) Motivation: For outstanding contribution given during 1920 - 1944 in support of individuals and groups in economic difficulty in the city of Shkodra, particularly for his contribution to the field of economic development and education, through the opening of factories, soup kitchen for poor people, support for primary school “Stigmantine Sisters” and “Filip Shiroka” school, etc. Certificate of Appreciation Winner: Mrs. Claudia Janiszewski, president and founder of Organization for the Support of Albania’s Abandoned Babies (OSAAB) Motivation: For the invaluable contribution and the continuous support for newborn babies abandoned at the maternity hospitals in Tirana and districts, offering a warm and suitable environment for their wellbeing during the first months of life. 2015 Winner: Alpha Bank Albania environment, art and culture and especially for the contribution given to initiatives against breast cancer, provision of equipment for diagnosing potential problems of infants at the maternity hospital "Queen Geraldine”, and the reconstruction of the kindergarten "Zërat e Jetës" in Kamza.

Winner: with motivation: For the wide contribution to the improvement of the quality of life of individuals and communities, the support to the innovative ideas of young entrepreneurs, the special attention towards institutions and organizations that provide services for children with Down syndrome, people with autistic spectrum disorders, the elderly and persons with terminal illnesses, as well as the awareness about environmental protection.

Winner: with motivation: For the contribution given to the education of children and youth from poor families and Roma and Egyptian communities, as well as for the provision of vocational training and increase of employment opportunities for women and girls in Lezha.

Special Award “Pioneer of Philanthropy”
Winner: with motivation: For outstanding and wide contribution given during 1925 - 1935 in support of the economic development of Elbasan city, and promotion of education of young women and men through the construction of the city library "Qemal Baholli".

2017 The Award for Contribution at National Level was granted to TELEKOM Albania, with motivation: For its contribution to supporting social, health care and environmental development in the country, in particular for the provision of artistic books to the public libraries in Tirana, provision of medical equipment to the “Shefqet Ndroqi” hospital and to the Neurology Service of University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa”, as well as for the special contribution in the research for the fight against dementia, through virtual reality. The Award for Contribution at Local Level was granted to HAKO sh.p.k, with motivation: For the support given in the field of education, therapeutic services and development of children and young people with special needs in the city of Tirana. The Award for Individual Contribution was granted to Ms.Albana Osmani, with motivation: For the special contribution to the reconstruction of the Pediatric Oncohematology Service at the University Hospital “Mother Teresa”, and the increase of citizen’s solidarity and awareness to help the children affected by blood diseases through the campaign “You are a sunflower”. Special Award “Pioneer of Philanthropy” was granted to Mr.Kristaq Zografi (posthumously), with motivation: For his outstanding activity in the field of education and culture, in particular for the construction of the first gymnasium in the village Qestorat in Gjirokastra, the allocation of scholarships for young people and the construction of several public works in and outside the country.
Certificate of Appreciation was granted to Mr.Gjergji Renja, with motivation: For the continued contribution in support of families in need in the villages of Berat, especially in support of education and integration of young people in these areas. Supported by
2018 The Award for Contribution at National Level was granted to Trans Adriatic Pipeline with motivation: For continuous contribution and engagement in support of the sustainable development of communities, including among others the construction of the kindergarten in Pashalli village, and school “Llukë Mita” in Ura Vajgurore Municipality, as well as the reconstruction of the “Gjon Milli” museum building in Korça. The award was presented by Ms. Senida Mesi, Member of the Albanian Parliament.
The Award for Contribution at Local Level was granted to ANTEA Cement SH.A. with motivation: For continuous contribution to improve the life of communities in some administrative units in the Municipalities of Kruja and Kurbin, through interventions in infrastructure, health, innovation and social services. The award was presented by Ms. Mia Vukojevic, Program Director of Western Balkans of Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
The Award for Individual Contribution was granted to Mr. Alfred Muharremi, with motivation: For special support to children and young people without parental care, whom as their representative, advocates to ensure them social protection, education, and employment, as well as for creating a positive model for this community and for the whole Albanian society. The award was presented by Mr. Mario Mariani, Head of Cooperation of EU Delegation in Albania.
Special Award “Pioneer of Philanthropy” was granted to Mr. Ali Adil Agjah Bej Biçakçiu (posthumously), with motivation: For the outstanding contribution to the development of the Albanian national education, marking the first philanthropic case in Albania to donate all the wealth for the education. The award was presented by Ms. Ema Andrea, Albanian actress. Certificate of Appreciation was granted to Mrs. Liljana Luani, with motivation: For the valuable contribution and the precious, untiring work of more than fifteen years in the education and schooling of children isolated from the phenomenon of blood feuds, which with her dedication and personal investment, gives these children hope for the future. The Certificates of Appreciation was presented by Mr. Selami Xhepa, Dean of the Faculty of Economy, Business and Development at the European University of Tirana. Supported by

The Award for Contribution at National Level was granted to SIGAL UNIQA Group AUSTRIA with motivation: For the outstanding contribution in health, education, environment, sport, art and financial education in insurance field, specifically: Mobile Medical Clinic at country level, restruction of “Matosh Uka” high school in Fierza, Tropoja and the Sport Palace in Përmet, as well as establishment of the “Art and Culture”Club for citizens of Durrës.” Ms. Anila Denaj, Minister of Finance and Economy presented the award.
The Award for Contribution at Local Level was granted to Mrizi i Zanave with motivation: For the contribution in promotion and development of traditional values of Fishta area in Lezha, turning it into a touristic and culinary attraction, strongly based in the development of family economy and employment of residents of the area. Mr. Silvio Pedrazzi, CEO of Intesa SanPaolo Bank Albania, presented the award. The Award for Individual Contribution was granted to Ms. Suela Bala, with motivation: For the establishment of “Mobile Library” as an educational platform, and an integration window for children and youth in Lezha municipality, by creating a successful model that was transformed into an inclusive movement across the country”. H.E. Mr. Soreca, Ambassador of European Union in Albania, presented the award. “Pioneer of Philanthropy” Award was granted to Mr. Hamza Rama (posthumously), with motivation: “For the generous help and valuable contribution in alleviation of poverty and improvement of health condition of citizens and families in need in Lezha and surrounding villages, and for the financial support to Sports Club “Bardhyli”of Lezha”. Ms. Mira Rakacolli, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection, presented the award. Civic Engagement Recognition Award was granted to Ms.Delina Fico, with motivation: “For the valuable contribution to the protection of human rights and various social causes in the country, in particular for the protection of women’s and girls’ rights and the promotion of gender equality in Albanian society”. Ms. Marinela Jazoj, Executive Director of Foreign Investors Association of Albania and Honorary Consul General of Norway in Albania presented the Award. Special Award was granted to Mr. Arben Cara, with motivation: “For the utmost heroism and devotion in fulfilling the duty as firefighter, in the search and rescue efforts of the lives affected by the devastating earthquake of November 26, 2019, putting the mission of the profession first, even in the most extreme personal circumstances”. Special Award was granted to the Municipality of Prizreni, with motivation: “For the generous and unconditional help in hosting and accommodating Albanian citizens affected by the devastating earthquake of November 26, 2019, part of the tremendous support and solidarity of the brotherly people and institutions of Kosovo.” Mr. Petro Koçi, Deputy Minister of Defense, presented the Special Awards.
