PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES THE TOOLS TO communicate

in everyday life AND SECURE EMPLOYMENT Some of us may take for granted going about our day and being able to communicate with others at ease. Attending doctor’s appointments are stressful enough- imagine being unable to fully understand your doctor’s diagnosis. Partnership’s Deaf Services provides independence and communication by providing interpreters to attend appointments with individuals who are hearing impaired.

Interpreting Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing facilitates communication in their everyday lives. The program assists with interpreting for court appearances, doctor or dental appointments, job interviews and a wide variety of additional situations that may arise in everyday living.

provides a voice. Joseph had no voice. When Joseph came to the Partnership, he didn’t know how to sign and had very minimal English reading skills. He had never learned sign language in his birth country, Costa Rica, where deafness is considered shameful. Joseph endured punishment during school for attempting to use sign language. He grew up with no way to fully express himself. Then Joseph came to the Partnership’s Deaf Services Program. The Partnership taught Joseph American Sign Language (ASL), the primary language for deaf communities in the United States. His life was transformed! Joseph learned to communicate effectively with others. Now married with children, Joseph has been employed for many years. He can articulate his opinions, ideas, dreams and joys. Thanks to Deaf Services, Joseph now has a voice!
