studies with BBB Johannes Deimling at the NTA Norwegian Theatre Academy, Fredrikstad, Norway

Alphabet There are over 7.000 languages in current use. All of them have a specific writing system. Alphabet is the most widely used writing system in the world. Each Art Form also has its own language, created out of a unique Alphabet. It contains elements, which use visual aspects to communicate. The most interesting results appears at the intersection of different Art Forms. This meeting generates new words, colors, shapes or sounds, which means as well a new language. This Live Documentation shows exactly the result of the moment, when Photography and Graphic get together and express their way of documenting the performative process in one medium. Furthermore the whole image of the studies with BBB Johannes Deimling at the NTA - Norwegian Theatre Academy is completed with feedback given by the students. Monika Sobczak

When I wasn’t able to puke the candy over my face, I could hear the sound of failure in my head - it sounded something like “aaaaawwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrrnghFUCK FUCK FUCK pliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing”. I accepted it, and chose to not change my action. Heiki Eero Riipinen

Something happens to the expression of the faces during a still life performance - as if the mind becomes empty as the time runs. Lærke Grønt ved

This really made me think, how was I going to make a performance with my head without doing anything with it? It was even harder when I figured out I really did not want to take a shower afterwards. I had to think in all new ways, how to make the object do the action? I liked being challenged to not be inventive in an action-based way, and it opened up new doors to an act process. It was wonderful for me to just take inspiration from a song. It was a great experience, but I have to be more aware of the space around me.

Per Magnus Barlaug

How clever can one be after a series of “failures”? Ida Holthe Lid

The slow-motion exercises gave me another interesting insight. When I was using a much longer time to do something that I usually do automatically, would sometimes forget on the way how to do it. Mareike Nele Dobewall

The very vast amount of material we are producing, has made let go completely of my anxiety towards tasks that end up with a presentation. When I produce so much, I don’t have time to be scared.

If you want to be exclusive, learn to live in a vacuum. Inga Alekna viciute

Where are all this crazy ideas coming from when we “shut off” our brains and really try to not compose? Ida Holthe Lid

How to be in the moment and make the moment freeze and last for an hour? Heidi Dalene

I will try not to be afraid of boredom.

Lærke Grønt ved

To be a serious communicator of the human experience I must have the urge to tell people something. Anything, be it hot or cold. But never cool.

I really like the idea that I can somehow put equal sience between me and the jar - both transforming through the workshop. Jar is a perfect symbolic object anyhow to fill it with something and for transformation. During the observations until now I can see a clear reflective moment between me and the jar: in the beginning there were a lot of reactions going on - objects were changing their form, color, location. Later on it seems like they have remained the same but I am sure there are very intense reactions and transformations going on under the top surface. I think the same process is going on with me as well. Ann Mirjam Vaikla

I find it exciting to work with different speed and time at the same time.

Per Magnus Barlaug

To reduce things can in this reduction be the same thing as prolonging.

LÌrke Grønt ved

Even the most simple thing can be the most powerful and beautiful. Ida Holthe Lid

It was a connection between body and tempo, body and emotion, body and speed, body and movement, body and space, body and atmosphere... It was a versatile body, gesture and movement work.
