LEADERSHIP 4

President's Note Hope you guys are having a great summer! Beat the heat, and go volunteer like a good key clubber. SUMMER IS NOT OVER YET!

Salvation Army + PCM = Productivity Times Infinity by J端nsung Lee

However, we were able to join other Key Clubbers for the PCM (Presidents' Council Meeting) and the rest of a project. After the

PCM, we started serving lunch and cleaned up the area so people can enjoy their lunch. We got to talk to other Key Clubbers about the plans for upcoming year, and had an enjoyable experience helping out at the Salvation Army. Overall, it was a successful meeting, and I'm looking forward to the next PCM!

COMMUNITY

On July 19th, Sarika and I did a service project at the Salvation Army. Because of Sarika's Indian Standard Time and heavy traffic, we missed the first part of a project, which was to help making sack lunches.

Serve and Learn Program

LEADERSHIP

by Sarika Sabnis Earlier this month, a fun and fabulous group of the Paschal Key Club team trekked out to Cook Children’s Medical Center to help out construct information packages about the Water Watchers program as part of the Serve and Learn Program. The Water Watchers program was started to increase awareness of safe swimming for kids in Tarrant County. The stellar team of Junsung Lee, Diana Lee, Page Trotter, Ali Thorburn, Moni Gunderson, Jillian Daugherty, and Isheta Kumar spent all day helping out for this wonderful cause. Said Diana Lee, “I’m so glad I got to help out for this wonderful cause. I definitely want to come back to Serve and Learn next time we are invited!”

“We had so much fun with our Key Club. It’s always more fun and more rewarding when a big group of helpers goes to a service project!” Page added. Page advocated the importance of kids learning to swim safely, and making sure there is protection all around their environment. “We learned a whole lot of facts and precautions while we were packaging those information cards. It really opened my eyes.” All in all, the Serve and Learn Program service project was a success!

WHAT IS KEY CLUB?

DISTRICT CONVENTION

Key Club is an international organzation with a mission to serve others. By being a part of Key Club at Paschal, you are given the opportunity to participate in service projects with friends and make a difference in your community. What could be better than helping others while having fun?

District Convention (DCON) is an event for the Tex-O-Key (Texas-Oklahoma District) to convene and learn more about Key Club, share experiences from the past year, and make more memories. From forums to banquets to caucuses and voting, DCON is an unforgettable experience.

For more info, visit www.keyclub.org.

Junior Moni Gunderson revisits DCON from her freshman year, "DCON was an action-packed incredibly fun, unforgettable weekend experience. I had somuch fun learning more about Key Club and meeting new people. I am so happy that I went and I am planning on going every year!"

WHAT IS KIWANIS? Designed for adults, Kwianis is an organization made up of service leaders in communities all over the world. With several goals in mind, Kiwanis partners with other organizations to provide help to those in need. Go to www.kiwanis.org/ kiwanis/about-kiwanis to learn more about the club. Kiwanis in Fort Worth helps support us in our endeavors, both financially and verbally. Be sure to attend one of their meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month. More info can be found in our meeting agendas!

MAJOR EMPHASIS PROGRAM The Major Emphasis Program we have chosen at Paschal is "It's Not Okay", a program with a goal to end bullying of all kinds. Teaming up with Paschal's very own Link Crew, we have worked to ensure that everyone knows the true meaning of It's Not Okay.
