Illiad Antik, Art Deco Sideboard, c. 1940 – 1945
Celebrating our 10th anniversary! Palm Beach! America’s International Fine Art & Antique Fair has evolved into one of the finest art and antique fairs in the world. As in the past, many museum directors, curators, and advancement officers will bring groups or met up with wintering patrons at the Fair. They find a visit to Palm Beach! to be an ideal setting in which to cultivate relationships, spend relaxed time exploring common interests, guide patrons in their collecting, and spot acquisitions for their museum! This year Palm Beach! is offering interested museums the following options: complimentary admission, guided tours, lectures, the opportunity to arrange a luncheon or reception at the Fair, and invitations for the Vernissage, the exclusive opening night gala preview of Palm Beach! Additionally, art-specialist travel agency Turon Travel has been designated as the travel agency partner for Palm Beach! Turon will provide arrangements for individuals as well as groups. Turon will also negotiate hotel accommodations with special rates in the area during a 20-day period around the fair. Special attention will be paid to the needs of museum professionals. For more information or to make arrangements, please contact Sarah Howell, Events Coordinator, at 561.209.1310, or sarah@ifae.com. Please note that invitations will be provided but tickets must be purchased for the Vernissage.

The Vernissage Palm Beach! announces the creation of Mosaic – a philanthropic endowment at The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. The fund is dedicated to supporting non-profit programs in the Arts and Arts Education. Proceeds from the Palm Beach! Vernissage, an exclusive preview gala, will benefit the fund. The Vernissage is one of the most prestigious events in the international arts community, attended by leading art dealers, collectors, interior designers, philanthropists and art experts. The invitation-only event will be held on Thursday evening February 2, 2006 from 5:30 – 9pm at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Shannon Sadler-Hull, President and CEO of The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties commented, “Palm Beach! has made an important contribution to our communities over the past decade by offering unprecedented access to excellence in fine arts and antiques. Each person attending the Vernissage will not only participate in this elite event, but they will add to a permanent endowment from which grants will be made for important arts projects. The arts play a key role in our quality of life, and the Mosaic Fund of the Community Foundation will make a difference in this area.”
Art Loss Register Palm Beach! America’s International Fine Art and Antique Fair is pleased to announce the continuing participation of The Art Loss Register. The Art Loss Register (ALR) is the world’s largest private computerized database of stolen and missing works of art and antiques. As well as the registration of losses, The Art Loss Register provides a search service to collectors, dealers and museums. Since beginning operations in 1991, the ALR has developed a database of over 160,000 items, including paintings, silver, furniture, rugs, tapestries, antiquities, Asian art, ceramics, clocks, musical instruments, and other unique items. The addition of The Art Loss Register to the vetting process will give the public extra confidence in regard to the provenance of the pieces they purchase.

FOCUS KONRAD O. BERNHEIMER Colnaghi, London – Bernheimer, Munich Mr. Bernheimer belongs to the fourth generation of one of the foremost art dealing families of Europe. The Bernheimer firm was founded in 1864 by his great-grandfather, Lehmann Bernheimer. Konrad O. Bernheimer took over the business in 1977, opening a branch in London eight years later. By 1900 the family had become purveyors to the Court of Bavaria and included members of the European aristocracy and American magnates, such as William Randolph Hearst, among their clients. An expert of international repute, Konrad Bernheimer is regarded today as Germany’s premier dealer in Old Master paintings – recently he was elected chairman of Colnaghi, London – Bernheimer, Munich, Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld, The Augustan bridge on the Nera River, near the town of Narni, Italy Pictura in Maastricht. The Bernheimer gallery occupies two floors of a neoclassical mansion on Munich’s prestigious Brienner Strasse.
Colnaghi, London – Bernheimer, Munich, Henri Danger, Artist’s Studio
In 2002 Bernheimer acquired P. and D. Colnaghi and Co., Ltd. in London. Both galleries continue to conduct business under their own names, with Konrad Bernheimer as the sole owner and chairman of both companies. Bernheimer Fine Old Masters and Colnaghi specialize in fine Old Master paintings from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, which are presented in annual exhibitions.
ROBERT C. NOORTMAN Noortman Master Paintings
“It’s more desirable to own one great master piece instead of ten average paintings.” Mr. Noortman established himself as an art dealer in 1968. He opened his first gallery in Hulsberg (Netherlands) and has had galleries in London’s Old Bond Street and New York’s Madison Avenue; Noortman moved his Dutch office to Maastricht in 1980.

TESTIMONIALS
“Over the last decade, I have attended every single one of the Palm Beach Fairs. They get better and better, and this last one was the best of all. The quality of the works of art, the range of centuries and cultures and media available, the new space in the convention center, the warmth and efficiency of the operation itself – all of these factors add up to a wonderful experience for the visitor.” – Franklin W. Robinson, The Richard J. Schwarz Director, Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University

“This was my first time at Palm Beach! fair and I did not know what to expect, but the refined atmosphere you and your staff were able to create was inviting for the visitor… I was impressed by the high level of the exhibitors and the patrons I was touring around were amazed by the richness of the artworks available… (and) stayed longer than they had anticipated. My group kept talking about the incredible experience and I am sure it will not be difficult to convince them to come back next year.” Angelica Daneo, Assistant Curator, Dept. of Painting and Sculpture, Denver Art Museum Hollis Taggart Galleries, Mark Rothko, Untitled
“I am writing you at this late date to congratulate you on the professionalism of organisation and the high level of international fine arts representation you achieved at the Palm Beach Fair this year. Indeed, as a specialist in old master paintings, who also was “scouting” works for the Montreal Museum ranging from antiquity to the early 20th century, I was impressed by the number of distinguished European dealers, whom I normally associate with the Maastricht Fair, that were represented. Besides my participation as a vetter, together with the director, I ushered three groups of museum patrons about the fair, which provided an excellent opportunity to introduce several of them to the leading and most reputable dealers in their fields. I appreciate your efforts to retain and continue building a high level of representation at the Fair.” – Hilliard Goldfarb, Associate Chief Curator and Curator of Old Masters, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal
