& INDUSTRY

Wellington offers attractive opportunities for virtually all types of businesses, says Michela Green, Executive Director, Wellington Chamber of Commerce. “Our Chamber focuses on bringing a competitive advantage to Wellington merchants, and to protect those differences for all residents.

In fact, it was a return to the idea that chambers of commerce best serve their communities when they are local and when they do not try to be all things to all people. It was also felt that local chambers must look to the betterment of their communities in all facets of community life and not just the business aspect of the communities.

“We at the Chamber are proud to support our members and strengthen our very unique, diverse and innovative community,” Green adds.

Small businesses are finding their way to the Wellington community and discovering that with all the numerous amenities and services available in the area, it is a perfect mix for their new businesses to thrive.

With 350 members, the Wellington Chamber offers a year-round program of special events, business growth learning workshops and networking opportunities.

Many Wellington companies are leaders in the county’s dynamic aviation, equestrian, life sciences, medical and financial service industries. Other businesses cater to the needs of Wellington’s 65,000-plus residents, including retailers, restaurants and equestrian-based companies. Thanks to Wellington’s central location in the heart of Palm Beach County, area businesses enjoy easy access to South Florida’s major roadways, international airports and seaports.

Wellington real estate offers fabulous and diverse inventory choices as well as an A-rated school system, great public and semi-private golf courses and top-of-the-line/cutting-edge health care … all just minutes from downtown West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Palm Beach International Airport and the best beaches in the state!

“The Wellington Chamber of Commerce is unrelenting in its support for our small businesses. The recognition that small businesses are the backbone of our Village’s prosperity means there are continual programs to help businesses grow—especially during challenging times.”

AWARD-WINNING HEALTH CARE

From Baptist Health South Florida to the Hospital for Special Surgery, and an outpatient location from the gold standard of pediatric care facilities, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health, Wellington continues to be a preeminent destination to meet health care needs both common and exotic.

Wellington Regional Medical Center

Wellington Regional Medical Center is a 235-bed community hospital conveniently located at the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard and State Road 7/441 in Wellington.

Since opening its doors more than 35 years ago, Wellington Regional has kept pace with the growing medical needs of our community. It has invested in developing advanced and comprehensive health care services—from neonatal intensive care to hyperbaric medicine to some of the most advanced technologies in cancer treatments available today. The hospital is also widely recognized for its wound care. In 2022, Wellington Regional’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine was recognized as a Center of Distinction by Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The Alan B. Miller Pavilion is a three-story, 103,000-square-foot structure attached to the north face of the hospital, transforming it into a flourishing medical complex. A towering achievement in innovative health care design, the Pavilion distinguishes Wellington Regional from every other hospital in the region. By incorporating the latest breakthroughs in technology, the hospital is increasing staff efficiency, fostering patient engagement, augmenting the healing process and improving the overall patient experience.

Wellington Regional recognizes that the patient experience extends beyond the patient. Thoughtful spaces, complimentary Wi-Fi service and upgraded dining selections also provide a pleasant experience for family and friends. A stateof-the-art pharmacy and two eight-bed ICU step-down units provide support for existing medical-surgical services. Additional space is reserved for the expansion of specialty programs, including orthopedics, cardiology, neurosurgery and oncology. The hospital’s Ken DiLallo Level III neonatal intensive care unit cares for the smallest of newborns with the widest range of newborn conditions.

Wellington Regional’s newest emergency department, ER at Westlake, is a freestanding emergency department at 16750 Persimmon Boulevard at the intersection of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road. It opened in 2019, and is staffed 24/7 with an ER physician and appropriate ancillary staff capable of treating general emergency cases from cuts and bruises to heart attacks and strokes, with the ability to airlift patients to the main hospital if needed. In 2020, ER at Westlake received the 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award for achieving and sustaining excellence in patient satisfaction.

In addition to providing high-quality health care, the hospital promotes overall community wellness through free preventive health screenings, educational lectures and support groups.

Through an unmatched commitment to patient care, continued dedication by physicians, staff and auxiliary, and an ongoing investment by its parent company, Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), a King of Prussia, Pa.-based company, Wellington Regional Medical Center is proud of the services it provides and looks forward to fulfilling the needs of the community in the years ahead.
