FOSTER TO FOREVER CAP CHALLENGE FOR 125 THOUSAND Our goal? Reach 125,000 miles by the end of May—National Foster Care Month— representing the 125,000 children hoping to move from foster care into a forever family. At the end of May, the top three participants logging the most mileage will be recognized publicly and receive a special gift card. How to participate: Decide what kind of exercises/activities you want to do. Walk, run, swim, ski, bike, lift weights, dance, box, do yoga, or do any other movement-related activity. Do the same or different activities each time — whatever keeps you motivated! Each time you exercise, log your activity here—either in steps, miles, or minutes. CAP will convert all activity into miles for the end of the challenge. We welcome donations (optional) of any amount to recognize your accomplishments and to help CAP find forever families for waiting children. Donate here.
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for information and motivational updates, and share on your social media. Post your own photos and updates, tag Children Awaiting Parents, and use hashtag #fostertoforever Check here to see a running total of all participants (updated weekly). Tell your friends, family, and workplace colleagues, and encourage them to join you! Sponsorships are also welcomed and appreciated: (585)232-5110 or info@capbook.org 4

Fun Cooking with Your Children •Do a Chopped Competition.
•Bake or cook something new together. •Plan a DIY/Buffet style dinner (make your own pizza, taco bar, etc.). •Enjoy candle-lit breakfasts. •Weekly Fancy Family Dinner: dress up, break out the special dishes, make a toast, speak with an accent and remember, “pinkies UP.”
•Weekly taste-testing: It works best if you are very specific. Instead of voting on which cheese your family likes best, do which cheddar cheese is best. Or which Italian dressing, or apple juice, or cocoa, or honey. We even did a milk taste test using 2% milk and it was surprising how different each brand’s flavors were! •Every once in a while, swap out the forks and spoons for chopsticks and laugh your way through dinner (or lunch or breakfast). You can find cute hinged sets that look like giant tweezers and are great for beginners.
•Buy one piece of exotic produce with each grocery trip and have everyone try it.

Get Active with your Family (Suggestions) BY TEG
1. Over the door b-ball hoops. Start by doing a family free throw contests in the hallway upstairs and this can be tons of fun for your family. 2. Reunion vacation 3. Choreograph weekly family TikToks. 4. Fill an idea jar for daily activities. 5. Do a “Zoom exercise class”--especially fun when kids act as trainers for grandparents, or an older cousin teaches younger cousins a dance. 6. Choose a challenge (it could be to complete a peaks challenge for hiking, a virtual 5K or marathon, or walking a specific meaningful distance). 7. Surprise each other with a physical contest: who can do the most push ups or the best headstand? 8. Lastly, take a daily litter walk if you don't already have a dog to walk.
