tough, flexible, reliable

perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. – antoine de saint-exupery, french writer (1900-1944)

These days, waders have to do more than just wade. They need to breathe easily and resist the thorns – from blackberries to Argentine califate – that guard our favorite waters. Our Watermaster II Waders feature a proprietary 3-layer HydroStorm waterproof/breathable fabric package that’s quantitatively tougher and more waterproof than the competition’s. Our innovative internal suspension system provides quick, jacket-on “relief” without zippers. Strategically placed reinforcement patches, patterned neoprene feet, contoured crotch and knees, gritstopping gravel guards and built-in wading belt round out the package. hydrostorm fabric: built for immersion We developed HydroStorm specifically for immersion applications. this fabric package is completely waterproof, highly breathable, durable and packable. We use it in all of our waders.

years of R&D and good-old tweaking “ The trick is to create a material that has good abrasion-resistance, puncture-resistance, breathability and fast dry times, without letting it get heavy and stiff. It’s a helluva challenge actually. We make the tightest doubleweave face fabrics on the market for puncture- and abrasion-resistance, and use an incredibly resilient, partially self-repairing Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia founder, owner and inveterate angler. features and benefits Glued-in and waist-mounted suspenders allow you to wear these waders waist- or chest-high. Snaps on the front and back of the suspenders, and at the top of the waders, allow you to easily dump water in the event of a swim. Use them to fold down the bib on hikes and in hot weather, and find “relief” without having to remove your jacket or vest or struggle with zippers.

A drawcord hem is secured with a cordlock to cinch the top of your waders tight, keeping water out.

with the goal of minimizing excessive folds and loose fabric in the legs. These folds are the number one problem-wear area, because they rub against each other, causing abrasion and barrier creasing. Keep them clean: Contrary to popular belief, regular washing is actually good for all technical fabrics, even waders. Use a good powdered detergent or a technical wash soap like Nikwax Tech Wash in a ®

front-load washing machine. Secure all snaps and tie straps together to prevent fabric damage. Rinse twice. Dry in a front-load dryer on low heat just until dry. Cleaning and drying enhances DWR performance. Leak repair: Punctures and pin-hole leaks can be repaired by brushing on a thin layer of SeamGrip , which you’ll find in the Patagonia Wader ®

Repair Kit (included with every wader). In some cases, SeamGrip can make the repaired area even more durable because it reinforces it. No patches are necessary, and the waders are ready to wear in 24 hours. Rinsing and storage: Rinse waders after every use and hang them to dry out of direct sun. Store in a cool, dry place.
