Learn storytelling tips and tricks to express yourself in a way that resonates with others so you can impact change for the causes you care about. This session focuses on identity formation, expression, and persuasion. From Brutal to Breathing: Implementing Stress Management & Resilience Practices into Your Organization (DCOB 117) – Monica St. George, Student Counseling Center: In the words of Olivia Rodrigo – “It’s brutal out here.” In the recent years, stress, impulsivity, frustration, and burnout have skyrocketed, and simply being aware of these things is not enough to create desperately needed change. We need to shift from talking about stress management, to actually doing stress management – and we need to do this as a community to have a lasting impact. In this session, you’ll practice several simple, practical ways to implement stress management and resilience-building practices in your organization’s meetings, events, and culture, to start being part of the change. Clarity in a Loud World (DCOB 159) – Promise Gainey, '21, School of Applied Health Sciences: As a college student, there is great freedom. This freedom, however, can give way to anxiety when we are faced with endless possibilities. What to say yes to, what to say no to, which path is best for you – but what if making a decision could be easy? Team Building for Tactile Learners will introduce you to Jacksonville University’s new experiential and adventure education program centered around thoughtfulness, commitment, respect, critical thinking, and support through hands on learning outside the classroom. Attendees will be introduced to core concepts of experiential learning, participate in mobile elements of Jacksonville University’s Challenge Course (weather permitting), and learn how to bring action back to their communities in new and exciting ways.
