Did you know? This year Norway is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian constitution - signed in Eidsvoll on 17 may 1814 and one of the main events to commemorate this special event in the Norwegian history, in the region of Østfold, is our international seminar!

After nearly 400 years under Denmark’s rule, 1814 marked the year that Norway became an independent nation, though in a union with Sweden, with its own capital and a new political system. It was an incredible year that marked the start of democratic development in Norway and was known to many as a year of “miracles”.

Moss is an important historical place in Norway. The Convention of Moss was a cease fire agreement, signed on August 14 1814, between the Swedish King and the Norwegian government and this is why we will celebrate

specially on that day.
