Three Generations Professional_John Hatheway Architects_2017 Renovation & Expansion_Brooklyn_New York
Located in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District in New York City, this house is one of the oldest standing buildings Brooklyn. Our multi-generational cliente came to us with a need to reorganize their house in order to better suit their unique situation. The renovation included noteworthy landmark applications for the additions of roof dormers (first approved new dormers in the district) and the renovation of the enclosed tea porch on the rear (pictured on right). In addition the floor structures needed major sistering work, a new HVAC system was introduced, and the cellar was dug out to create a 6th ‘liviable’ floor. A complex historical renovation made for a highly connected, detail-filled construction process.
