“Multilevel multitasking multiplied multiple times is Event Management." - Rehan Waris

What is an event? Is it a fashion show or is it a rock concert? It is both and much more. An event can be related to any action that takes place with the sole purpose of promotion or entertainment. Yes! Event Managers are supposed to be the brainchild of every bit of public entertainment that you get to see on stage or off stage. Obviously, there are several different facets of event management and with every type, the skills change and the challenges surmount. The role of an event manager starts from scratch right where an idea permeates through the mind all the way to making the event happen. Some of the most common type of events that are in demand across the world and need the vision and input of event managers include trade fairs, rock concerts, musical events, product launch, opening ceremonies, press conferences, seminars, meetings, weddings & other family events, fashion shows and award ceremonies among others. They can be competitive or simply recreational but as an event manager, you need to be right there, leading your team!

Events connect people, breeds innovation, build communities, and events spark change."

- Mantra Media and Events

Do I have it in me to become an Event Manager? Definitely ! Everyone is an event manager by nature because we are all managing something in our life all the time. All you have to do is focus on taking your managing skills to the next level! When you hear the words, "managing in an event", it means several things. If you can dream about an idea and see it taking a form, then it is event management. If you are curious about the green room backstage and what happens there, then you can participate in event management. If you have great personal skills and love to get people together on one platform, then you can become an event manager! Being an event manager is about a journey – a journey from idea to conceptualization and then comes the final performance.

It is gaining momentum because of the demand for socialising. Now, most events are organised by an event management company, with experts taking care of each little detail - right from the colour scheme at the venue to the food and drinks to the amusements and contests lined up for guests. So what’s left? For people, it’s like making a wish and having it granted by an event manager."
