VIDEOGRAPHY

“LET YOUR IDEAS FLY like they have a story to tell.... and then re-create at1080p!" Videography is one of the most hyped and yet challenging fields and has the ability to provide unparalleled satisfaction to anyone who knows how to tell a story through their video camera. In the past and now, parallels have been drawn by experts between Videography and Photography in terms of the areas covered and the thought that goes into making the final composition. There are several similarities but dissimilarities also exist. Unlike photography, videography refers to digital video recording and it is all about capturing moving images vis-a-vis still images. The similarity is about the storyline. In photography, a simple picture can emote a thought or bring out an emotion but there can sometimes be incompleteness. In videography, the emotions and the story get a better platform. Videography is a niche area with different areas of expansion and experimentation. There are a variety of styles that you can pursue and this includes event videography, wildlife videography, wedding videography, corporate videography, advertising videography (commercials), video journalism, ceremonial videography among others. If you have always wanted to capture events or have interesting ideas for short documentaries then by becoming a videographer, you can bring your ideas to life!

- Nicholas Meyer

“With portable cameras and affordable data and non-linear digital editing, I think this is a golden age of documentary filmmaking. These new technologies mean we can make complicated, beautifully crafted and cinematic films about real-life stories."

“I was always a filmmaker before I was anything else. If I was always anything, I was a storyteller, and it never really made much of a difference to me what medium I worked in."

-Lucy Walker
