On behalf of the City of Cincinnati, I am honored to invite you to our great city. Cincinnati has invested billions of dollars in recent downtown and riverfront development, including the historic Over-theRhine neighborhood and The Banks entertainment district. Autumn is an especially great time to visit Cincinnati. In addition to watching the leaves change color in our award-winning park system, Cincinnati is host to several festivals at this time of the year including Oktoberfest Zinzinnati at The Banks, the Chrysanthemum show at Krohn Conservatory, and the Cincinnati Chocolate Festival at Xavier University. Key Magazine Cincinnati is a great resource for learning about the many attractions Cincinnati has to offer. With world-class museums and theaters, one of the top five zoos in the nation, touring Broadway productions, and incredible architecture, Cincinnati has something for everyone to enjoy. I am confident you will enjoy your stay in Cincinnati. Please enjoy our hospitality, sample our many amenities, and have a wonderful time. We are glad you’re here! Sincerely,
John Cranley Mayor, City of Cincinnati

Restaurant L brings Parisian style to Cincinnati
T
he opportunity to dine out with unprecedented elegance and taste has come to Cincinnati: Legendary restaurateur Jean-Robert de Cavel and Maître d’Hôtel Richard Brown have joined together to open Restaurant L, a Parisian-style eatery which will be the extraordinary new anchor for Cincinnati’s newest contemporary landmark, the Great American Tower at Queen City Square at the corner of 4th and Broadway. Featuring elevated cuisine, impeccable service and refined décor, Restaurant L offers their diners exquisite, seasonally inspired French cuisine. Restaurant L features a main dining room that accommodates 60 guests, with two private dining rooms that can together seat up to 40 as well as a full-service bar which seats 30 guests for a la carte diners. de Cavel, known in Cincinnati for his classic French cooking technique, has created both a three-course prix-fixe menu which begins at $89 and an imaginative Menu Gourmand tasting menu beginning at $125. Wine pairings can be added for $45 with the prix-fixe and $65 with the tasting menu. All prices include service. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a menu that combines refined French techniques with casual, seasonal flair, highlighted by worldly flavor profiles while still keeping to the parameters of true, French-style cooking. What’s on your plate at Restaurant L? If you
go the prix-fixe route, your first course can be anything from tuna tartare “nicoise” to Rabbit Ballotine with fava beans, pioppini mushroom, carrot puree and champagne dressing. Course two can offer you ravioli with sheep’s milk cheese, foie gras, or for the adventurous, sweetbreads. The third course has classic selections like chicken, duck, filet mignon, arctic char and lamb, all perfectly prepared to please the palate. Want to try the Menu Gourmand? Be ready for Jonah Crab, foie gras, or squab, amongst other selections, as well as domestic and imported cheeses and a selection of sweets. Restaurant L is currently open TuesdaySaturday for dinner. Dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, and from 5:30 p.m. -10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Restaurant L’s bar has extended hours, from 5:30 p.m. until midnight Tuesday-Saturday. An a la carte menu is available in the bar with full-service capacity and nightly jazz piano from 9:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. For reservations, please call: 513-760-5525 or visit us at www.lcincinnati.com This is your chance to dine like a European. Must Try Cincinnati Prime Cincinnati: New brand, new menu, new experience
I
t used to be called Prime 47 and now it’s called Prime Cincinnati, but no matter the name, it’s still one of the hottest places to eat in downtown Cincinnati. Prime Cincinnati is under operation by Nelson Castillo, Operational Manager. With a new, expanded menu and fresh new décor, Prime Cincinnati will continue to serve up the best in steak, seafood and wine. Executive Chef Shawn Heine is shipping in fresh fish from Hawaii daily – ordered just the morning before and received within 24 hours. Selections will include Japanese sushigrade tuna, swordfish and opah. The restaurant will continue to focus on their USDA Prime meat choices, but also will include offerings like roasted duck and Osso Buco, in case you or your dining companions aren’t feeling surf or turf. Prime Cincinnati will be open for lunch, with a menu that will change seasonally. Pastas are the focus for fall, and you can half-order them with soup or salad. New items such as fish and steak tacos will join the always popular burger choices, complete with jumbo tater tots served with cheddar cheese, beer cheese or bacon with sour cream and chives. The remodel will feature art from Cincinnati artist Carlos Navarro and city photography from Steven Thomas. Prime Cincinnati is also partnering with local nonprofits to bring in new art. Next summer you can look forward to one of the dining rooms opening up to the patio, for that al fresco dining experience as well as an expanded bar. They are very excited to be creating a wine wall to emphasize their new wine list. Want the VIP experience? The VIP dining room will be walled off by oneway glass that will give you privacy while you dine but the fun of checking out the main dining room. Fabulous food, impeccable service and a fresh new look…that’s why you should make your reservation for Prime Cincinnati whenever you’re in town.

The Ohio Renaissance Festival is NOT to be missed
H
ave you ever been to the Ohio Renaissance Festival? If not, you have no idea what you’ve been missing! From the food to the entertainment to the atmosphere, this is an event you have got to try. Located in Waynesville, OH, the Ohio Renaissance Festival is open Saturdays and Sundays until October 23, 10:30am to 6:00pm. The festival features over 100 shows daily on 12 stages, so it’s hard to choose what to see first! You can witness dueling swordsmen or daring fire jugglers amongst the strolling minstrels, or take in the hilarious Mudde Show or pull up a stool at the Aleing Knight Pub for music that’ll get your toes tapping. As you wander the quaint village of Willy-Nilly, you can mingle with the “locals” and you might even catch sight of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth strolls the paths. Of course, nothing beats a full-armored joist! Those hard hits are delivered three times each day by the gallant

knights and gorgeous steeds of the Knights of Valour. The Artisan Marketplace is definitely a don’tmiss. The Ohio Renaissance Festival is home to one of the largest and most unique open-air Marketplaces in Ohio, with unique shoppes that bring to mind the ambiance and charm of a time over 400 years ago. There are over 140 master artisans and craftsmen from all over the country, who love to demonstrate the lost art of their crafts. In fact, all craft items must be handmade and meet specific criteria to be allowed to be featured at the festival. Glassblowing, candle making, stone carvers, boot makers, pottery, stained glass and more await you in the Marketplace. Got the kids with you? Of course you do! They’ll love all the different rides and games available, and adults can enjoy them too! Take a try at the Jacob’s Ladder or the Storm the Castle Climbing Tower, then see if you can take on the Barrel of Bedlam! All that shopping, playing and being entertained makes you hungry. And that’s good – because there is so much to choose from to eat at the Ohio Renaissance Festival! Traditional festival eats like roasted turkey legs, roasted corn on the cob, ice cream and bratwurst abound, plus new favorites like Middle Eastern falafel and shawarma to a travelling menu inspired by Marco’s travels west on the silk road, featuring vegetarian fried rice. It might take you all day, but you’ve got to sample it all! Tickets are available at the gate or online; go to http://www.renfestival.com for ticket pricing, directions and all the information you need to make your day at the Ohio Renaissance Festival the best adventure ever.
